Oreo smiled as she woke up. She had fallen asleep out in the jungle thinking but her dreams had been pleasant and worry-free. She had been doing a lot of that lately compared to almost never but it had done her some good. This place was quite the peaceful place to do it too. But now she wanted to spend the day with her sisters, those she hoped she would soon be more familiar with.

Oreo worked her way back to the clan den she had been staying at with her sisters and their adopted parents, one of the queens and her bonded. Interesting the things she had learned about the pride while she was here. This place wasn't so bad and confrontations no longer existed. That large skirmish between her and her sister seemed to make her more comfortable around the other, as though it had put anything negative out of the way.

She had come to the conclusion that she had to leave the Kunanda'Nakhun - not permanent, no, but the cure to her illness was not here. Nuksani could no longer take up the mental battle on her own. It constantly drained her, and she found herself growing more irritable and becoming slightly maddened. It was the opposite effect of what she was trying to obtain. So, the call for her to leave was clear, and so Nuksani decided that it was what she must do. Already she had discussed it with Usha, claiming she would return as soon as she was well again. She had, admittedly, avoided telling her plans to anybody else. If she had told Sanuye, sister of her blood, that she was leaving, Sanuye would want to follow... and Sanuye belonged here. Nuksani wanted her to stay here, and so she would not tempt her sister with the knowledge that she was departing. Usha would pass on the message, surely, when Nuksani was far enough away that Sanuye would have no hope of finding her.

It was early morning, and Nuksani had woken up with the determination to leave today. She had no idea why it had to be today, but her mind was set on it, and so she forced herself to waken quickly and sneak out of the clan den without rousing her sister. She shook off the last remanents of sleep, but when she righted herself, her eyes widened in surprise to see Oreo headed in her direction. Well, this wasn't too big of a problem. She could just usher Oreo on her way and go on with the journey she needed to begin. So, she approached her sister, because she knew that it would look funny if she ignored her and moved on her way. "Did you sleep in the jungle last night? I didn't see you in the den."

Oreo smiled at the other. She was in a good mood and it felt like nothing could ruin that feeling. "Yes I did," she replied merrliy. Of course she had and she was sure the other knew it. Where would she sleep? Certainly no where scandalous. Oiorpata had no plans yet for the day and was even surprised to find someone else awake at this hour. Usually not even those of the hunting class seemed to bother that much with getting an early start. At least not such an early start. "What are you up to?" she asked casually.

Nuksani sighed softly to herself, because though she was not blood related to Oreo, it seemed wrong to conjure up some lie to her. Of course she could better hide her secret from Sanuye, but that was because the other hadn't asked her what had been on her mind lately. But, now Oreo was outright asking her what she was up to... and maybe she just wanted someone to confide in. "I'm leaving the Kunanda'Nakhun for a short while," she confessed, her dark gaze flittering over to the thick blanket of trees. Well, now that Oreo had this information, it would be up to the other to decide what to do with it. "I'm in fact heading out now, before Sanuye wakes up and tries to stop me. She needs to stay here."

She shook her head in an almost regretful gesture, but the lioness carried on forward and just a little passed her sister. There she stopped, turning her yellow head to eye Oreo curiously. "Well, I suppose this will be good-bye for a while. I'm not leaving forever, but I've got some things I want to take care of now, before they progress and worsen."

Oreo made a face. This girl who was so impassioned by the pride was leaving it? Even if only for a short while, it seemed to be something critical. What, though, could pull her away? It clearly wouldn't be to find her mother. She seemed content enough to stay here and not know her. Then what could it be? True, it was believed that something was off about Nuksani but the other had not revealed anything about it around Oreo.

"Ok, this isn't me saying you can't handle anything but you shouldn't go by yourself. The world out there is much larger than here with ideals and lions much crueler than you can imagine. Out there, males are a formidable enemy if not a powerful one. And they don't hunt alone. They fight together in packs. But aside from fighting, it's easy to get lost or make a mistake. Another head to help bounce ideas and thoughts off of might help you in ....wherever you're going. Especially if you want to come back. I'm not saying you can't do it. But it might help you come back sooner and more intact." She knew that what she was saying was quite futile. She after all had been stuck debating which world she would rather submerse herself in. Obviously there was enough positive out there to be a significant pull. But she felt that it might not be best for someone who had never swam in deep water to plunge in headfirst without someone nearby to rescue them should it go horribly wrong. Nuksani was stubborn and Oreo saw that as a way to get her into a lot of trouble.

She laughed softly at the comment Oreo made about not meaning to say that Nuksani was incompetent. Nuksani knew that her sister, though new to this pride as she was, did not mean to insult her anymore. Nuksani was too focused on leaving to bother herself by getting into an arguement. Sanuye would wake up soon, and when she noticed that Nuksani was gone, she would come after her. Nuksani had to be far enough away so that Sanuye could not find her, and would become deterred and go back home. So, Nuksani just didn't have the time to sit and chitchat with Oreo. Another day she would talk more in length about what she was doing, and why she was doing it. When she returned she would share the reasoning for her journey. But, not now.

"Don't think I'm not prepared - I've been planning for this for a while now. It's no quick decision on my part. I'm leaving because... I have to, and I don't want anybody else to come with me. I don't want to drag anyone else down into my problems. I will find my way back. This is my home. I will be able to." She shook her head then, and once again turned to leave. "Take care of Sanuye for me, hmm? Make sure she doesn't try to follow me. You can tell her that I left, but don't tell her in which direction."

She made a face, one of suspicion but also of determination. "You don't want to drag anyone else into your problem. Who would? You may have been planning this for a while. And I know it takes a lot to leave home for the sake of yourself and others. But I will not make sure Sanuye stays here. And I will not promise on whether or not I tell her that you left." She paused for dramatic effect but making it appear as though she had no more to say.

Then she continued. "Because I will be there when you tell her yourself. I'm going with you. If you're so determined to go, I won't stop you. If you don't want to drag anyone else into your problem. Don't worry. I'm not forcing you. I'm invading it. Help doesn't always come in the most pleasant forms. And this help doesn't scare off easily." She didn't know what monsters were in Nuksani's closet. But she knew everyone had demons and Oreo was willing to fight them. After all, what kind of lioness would she be if she backed down from a fight?

Oreo's outright refusal to do anything that Nuksani requested broke through whatever calm mood Nuksani had been in. Anger twisted the features of her face, her lips drawn down into a sharp and cruel frown. There was only so much she could take, and with her sister outright refusing to help her by holding Sanuye back... she was admittedly upset. Heck, she knew she was rightfully upset. She wouldn't turn any more of her anger on Oreo, though. It was just the unpleasant look on her face and the rigid set of her shoulders. So, naturally when Oreo proposed her intentions, the first word out of Nuksani's mouth was a barked, "No."

The lioness now turned to fully face her sister, and there was determination in the set of her brows, in the dark flash of her eyes. "You are the last person I would bring with me. If I were to bring someone, it would be someone who knows what ails me. Go back to the den and rest, you need it. I'm leaving, and I do not want you coming with me. Sanuye needs at least one sister here for her. I'm shocked you would so selfishly come with me, and not consider what Sanuye will be going through."

Oreo tried to keep a cool head. Nuksani was the master of hateful words. She believed what she believed and you were damned if you went against it. She was stubborn and to ask her to do anything she didn't want to do was futile. That wasn't very hard for Oreo to see. And just because she acted that way, didn't mean Oreo could lose her head. "That is... that is very gracious of you," she said with a smile, an attempt to appear bubbly. "Because that's exactly why I'm going with you. Because I don't give a monkey a** what's wrong with you. And because I don't know and don't care, I won't ask questions. Because I care about you and don't know what ails you, I can defend and help you all nondiscriminatory.

"And frankly, I don't care that you don't want me to go with you. I would not let you go alone and thus I won't. I am not going to sit around restless with a guilty conscience to boot. Yes, I'm going for selfish reasons but they're also selfless because I want to help you. And I know you getting cured of whatever it is is important to you. I'm not standing in your way. But I'm not standing behind you either. I'm standing by your side." Nuksani just had to face. She was talking to a brick wall. Nuksani had made up her mind but so had Oreo.

Her eyes bore down into those of her sister, and in her sister's eyes she saw the similar determination, the strong will. Though they were not related by blood, it was clear they were sisters. Each refused to back down, and each would push for what they wanted until they got it. But, one of them was going to have to back down... and it seemed like Nuksani would have to. The only way to guarantee that Oreo stayed behind was to incapacitate her ability to move, and Nuksani would never in all of her lifetimes do that. Would Oreo be a hindrance, or would her sister be able to help her? Nuksani did not know the answer, and though she knew she was better off doing this alone... there was no way she'd be capable of shrugging Oreo off.

And so she sighed, and that more then anything else was a signal to Oreo that Nuksani had given in.

"If you don't keep up, I'm not bothering to wait for you. I'm leaving now, so come on." She gestured impatiently towards the jungle before her, and without waiting for Oreo to take her first steps back towards her, Nuksani led the way, feeling hurried now that she had conversed with Oreo so long. Sanuye would wake soon, and Nuksani still had a ways to go before that happened. She would not risk the slightest possibility of their duo becoming a trio.

Oreo smiled, rather surprised by how fast she had "won". "Works for me," she sang and sprung after Nuksani to catch up. She knew that Nuksani didn't want Sanuye to come with her but she figured from the way things were going that Nuksani would have been perfectly content to argue with her if it meant Oreo couldn't come too. "You won't be disappointed." As it was, Oreo could probably hunt better than Nuksani so she was an advantage at least in that way. And she was good at tracking which meant that no matter how many turns and detours Nuksani led them on, Oreo could always find their way back home.

It felt good to be on a journey. Sure, it didn't exactly help her decision making that she had been going through. But rather, she figured it would be the best way to test it, to match it against the outside world she was tempting herself with closing off. So in a sense, she needed to go with Nuksani more than Nuksani needed her to go with her. Regardless, they were on their way. "How long do you think we'll be gone?" she asked out of curiosity.

Her ears pressed flat against the back of her head, and she let out an exasperated sigh as Oreo sang out almost cheerfully behind her. Well, she could be allowed to be a little sour, especially since Oreo had gotten her way, and Nuksani had not. Nuksani was a lioness that always appreciated it when things went her way, and who didn't appreciate it as much when it didn't. But, Nuksani wasn't going to change her mind now - and she was doubtful that even if she did, Oreo would stay behind. No, Oreo had dedicated herself to travelling with her sister for reasons that were beyond Nuksani's current level of understanding (or maybe she just didn't want to try and understand). There was nothing the bright yellow and red lioness would be able to do to deter Oreo from her chosen path. Though the idea of throwing mud in Oreo's face was still tempting, even if it would have no lasting effect.

"I don't know how long we'll be gone, and that is why we're leaving so soon, before what is wrong with me matures, and so that even if it takes years to cure myself, I won't be old and wrinkly by the time I get back." Nuksani had never had a set date in mind when to return, nor even a time frame. She would like to be out and back in a matter of weeks, but somehow that seemed impossible. She hoped it wouldn't take longer, because she could already feel the beginnings of her longing to stay home with her sister. If Nuksani spent months, or gods forbid, years, she would just become deterred from her course and head back home to the Kunanda'Nakhun.

Glancing over her shoulder at her sister, she sighed one final time, and led the way through the pride lands and out to what she considered to be 'unknown'.
