On the western outskirts of the desert, Kaen trekked through sparsely grassed covered grounds and towards the nearest source of water. Not too far behind his heels, a black and red grassland unicorn trotted to keep up with her master. "It shouldn't be much longer Yuun," he said softly, only to receive a hearty bleat from the smaller creature. Further ahead, he could spot a small pool of water, surrounded by lusher grounds. With a small smile, he nodded to Yuun, letting her know it was alright to go on ahead. The little unicorn let out another bleat before hurrying to the water. She was quite thirsty, so being able to get some refreshing water was something greatly welcomed.

Zulimo blinked awake as he heard a scuffling next to his body. Raising his head, the glow eyed painter looked intensely in the direction of the sound. He smirked as he spotted an unsuspecting mouse scrounging about his bedding. With almost surreal speed, Zulimo snapped out his paw and killed the creature in one blow, before it could even make a sound. He held the dead mouse up in front of his face by its tail before looking around for his salamander, Yuri. Spotting the little bugger on the side of a wall staring at his kill intently, Zulimo flicked his paw and set the mouse flying through the air at the little lizard. In a flash Yuri launched himself off the wall and caught the mouse in mid air, already tearing through its meaty flesh by the time he hit the ground.
Zulimo's eyes narrowed and he growled at the lizard, "What do we say when someone does something nice for them?" Yuri paused for a moment and peered up at Zulimo with slight annoyance, then with a hiss of air he made the sound Zulimo taught him meant thank you. Zulimo nodded curtly, accepting the thank you and stood up, stretching the kinks out of his body. As Yuri quickly finished up the mouse, eating it skin, bone, and all, Zulimo motioned for him to get on his back. With a squeak of pleasure, Yuri assumed his position between Zulimo's wings and they were off.
Zulimo launched himself off the cliff outside of his cavern in the side of the canyon and made a few circles in the air before flying vertically up the cliff face. Yuri squeaked again in excitement and Zulimo flew faster, hugging the wall until he finally burst over the edge of the cliff. Zulimo landed on solid ground and stretched his wings slightly. Oddly enough, he hadn't flown for a while; Zulimo had spent a very good chunk of the past few months traversing through the catacombs of underground passages that littered the canyon side. Looking around and blinking unusually fast as the bright midday sun bombarded his eyes, Zulimo began too wonder where Milena had gone off too, it wasn't like her to just disappear without saying something...

Bleating happily, Yuun halted at the edge of the water before dipping her head down to drink heartily. She glanced up slightly as she heard a small chuckle come from the Chi'lin painter she traveled with.
"Is the water good, Yuun?"
Grinning slightly, Kaen stopped at the water's edge as well to take a sip. Cool and refreshing liquid trickled down his throat. It was indeed a very nice feeling to have on this hot day. That afternoon, he and his familiar had been just wandering about, exploring the lands and enjoying their time together.
Once Yuun had her fill, she bucked happily before trotting around Kaen's feet, staring up at him in the process. Quite lively she was now, which was quite a contrast to when he had first found her. Roughly a month ago, the Chi'lin had met this little unicorn, alone and injured. Yuun was also quite a youngster, from what he could tell at least, and he couldn't simply leave her to die or suffer like that.

After a few moments of rest, Zulimo launched himself into the sky once more, his shoulder muscles almost squealing in protest at the sudden use. Zulimo scanned the area, trying to spot his cat like familiar. Minevra was very independent, and he didn't mind that much, but sometimes he missed her presence when she wandered off like this. Zulimo searched for a few moments, doing his best to keep one eye trained on the ground and one in front of him so that he wouldn't run into anything.
Finally he saw a pool of water and spotted the distinct colors of his Minevra amongst the grass. She seemed too be stalking something, and Zulimo didn't want to get in the way so he stayed hovering in the air. Just then it occurred to him to check what exactly Minevra was stalking. He spotted a small hare like creature scuffling amongst the grass and he smiled to himself. Minevra had grown so much, and he was proud of her. He almost never had to provide anything for her. As she pounced and killed her prey with deft ease, Zulimo began a slow decent too the ground. Little did he notice that he wasn't the only Sanpaint in the area...

While Kaen watched his young familiar, he caught some movements out of the corner of his eyes. Just from a short glance he could tell that whatever it was, it wasn't a small creature of any sort. The chi'lin turned to see who or what it was exactly and soon saw a dark colored common painter flying in nearby. He hadn't expected to see anyone out here, but he supposed that water on the fringes of the desert would be a place to gather in a sense.
For now he didn't see the long haired chimaeve that the other painter was approaching exactly. On the other hand, Yuun did.
Seeing the cat-like creature, something she had never seen before, the little unicorn began to slowly approach. She was curious of what she saw, but also a bit wary. There wasn't really any way for her to tell if the creature was one that was dangerous or friendly.
Silently, she moved closer and closer, not knowing that the chimaeve was wanting to hunt down a hare of sorts nearby.

Minevra heard a rustling off too her side as she bit into the corpse of her freshly killed rabbit, and held back a snarl. The scent the unknown creature was giving off was that of a grassland unicorn, and if Minevra made any angry sound, it might scare the creature off. Minvera wasn't sure what she wanted to do with the little unicorn if it came closer. She already had prey, but it wouldn't be enough to satisfy her for long. After a few moments, Minevra decided that it was survival of the fittest, and if this unicorn was stupid enough to walk right up to a hungry predatory, it would just have to learn its final lesson the hard way. Minevra looked towards the little unicorn and began to walk towards it slowly....
Zulimo saw Minevra's attention be drawn away from her prey and found this odd until he saw the little grassland unicorn. He smiled and chuckled to himself, "Just like Minevra to go after the bigger prey.." But after a moment the smile faded. He had just spotted the other Painter nearby, and obviously the unicorn was that males companion. Zulimo bomb dived to the ground and swerved in front of Minevra while shouting, "Minevra stop! That unicorn is not yours too kill, it is a companion!" Minevra snarled in surprise at the sudden appearance of her master, but she stopped immediately, obeying his orders to a "T". With a quick glance around, Minevra finally spotted the probable owner of the little grassland unicorn and snorted, "Not my fualt... he must look after own friend..." She turned her head away in disgust at loosing a good kill then went back to her original prey. Zulimo sighed and nodded at Minevra's words then looked in the direction of the new male painter, wondering where his little unicorn had gone off too.
Finally from his back, Yuri squeaked and chattered angrily, Zulimo had flown recklessly and not only had Yuri almost been thrown off Zulimo's back, but now his masters shoulder muscles were completely ceased up. Zulimo hadn't used them in quite a while, and now that he had pushed them so hard, they cramp. Not that Yuri cared about how Zulimo felt, it just made it hard too find a good seat on his masters back with his wings stuck in and outward position...

Between the rather scary growl, and being approached slowly, the little unicorn soon knew that the cat-like beast was not a friend. Jumping up a bit, frightened, Yuun bleated loudly and darted over towards her master for protection. The sudden swooping of a large flying dragon did not help ease her fear.
For a moment, Kaen had let his gaze wander away from the other painter, but soon saw what was going on as Yuun ran to hide behind him. The poor unicorn was quivering with fear and letting out soft whimper-like noises. Frowning a bit at this, he turned around and nuzzled her gently, trying to get her to calm down.
"Shh... don't be afraid Yuun... You need to be more careful ok?"
This effort did help the grassland unicorn, but fear was still evident in her eyes. At least she had stopped shaking so badly though. With her more at ease, the Chi'lin painter looked back towards the Chimaeve, along with the common painter. The black and white dragon had his wings out in almost a strange manner.
"Thank you for calling off your Chimaeve companion... but are you well? "

Zulimo prowled his way over to the dark red painter and propped himself up in front of him, "Sorry for the misunderstanding, but it's not all together my Chimaeve's fault. I should've kept a closer eye on her..." Zulimo said this in a bit of a drawl as if he kinda meant it but was just forcing himself to apologize cause he knew it was the right thing to do. He looked down at the little unicorn and held back a smirk and instead sighed, crooning softly, "Do not be afraid my dear little one, no one means you harm anymore..." Yuri then popped up on top of Zulimo's head and peered critically at the red Chi'lin. After a few moments it almost seemed too shrug its shoulders before scurrying down Zulimo's neck and legs and running over to the little grassland unicorn and running around it feet. Zulimo glared at the little salamander and rolled his eyes before peering back up at Kaen, "Yes yes I'm fine... what ever would make you think I'm not...?"
Minevra meanwhile had brought her prey to the edge of the grass and listened to the conversation of the two Painters intently. She ate her prey with dainty dignity and savored the flavor of the flesh for she did not know when her next meal would be. She chuckled to herself when she remember the day her master had joked around by saying she could eat Yuri if it came down to it...

Shaking his head, Kaen looked down at Yuun momentarily before looking back at the other painter.
"No, it is I who should be at fault. I should have been watching over the young one more carefully."
The little unicorn calmed down more with the common painter's words, but soon tilted her head as a salamander began to running around her legs. She bleated curiously at the other familiar, and sniffed at it. Maybe this creature was a friendlier one than the bigger cat beast.
"Oh. Just the way your wings were held out earlier seemed a bit awkward is all. I'm Kaen by the way. And this little one here is Yuun."

Zulimo fluttered his wings slightly, hoping to get them to lay down normally, but all it did was make him wince. "They are just a bit sore... it is nothing interesting to talk about.." For some unexplainable reason, Zulimo did not want to tell this new male about hi excursions in the underground, and how that left him weak in some ways. Zulimo's skin burned with the sudden exposure to the sun, and his wings muscles seemed to scream in compliant to their sudden use. Zulimo looked around and ruffled his wings once more before settling himself as comfortably as he could, "I am Zulimo, the hyperactive lizard is Yuri, and Minevra is the one that almost ate.... Yuun is her name right...? Ya, Yuun..."
Yuri squeaked in disdain for being sniffed at and ran up Yuun's foreleg and settling on her head. It peered at Yuun upside down from the top of her head and squeaked once more, blatantly ignoring his masters disdain for his behavior.

With a light nod, Kaen glanced at the other male's wings a bit longer before deciding to let it drop. Perhaps he had strained them recently or something along those lines. He looked to each of the familiars, as well as the painter as names were being given out, then he gave a light bow.
"A pleasure to meet you all."
Yuun bleated a bit in confusion as the little lizard scampered off and away. She tilted her head and slowly inched forward. As Yuri stared at her upside down, she tried to turn her head to see it right side up. However she failed at pulling this feat off.
"What brings you out here on this day, Zulimo?"
