Personality: Robert is a malicious, spiteful b*****d. He is the bad guy, period, no questions asked. His estranged wife is no better. He abused Antonia, and she became as harsh and cruel as him. Robert did all he could to teach his children to be the same way - and hate the Lorenzos - as best he could, but can't help but feeling like a failure. The acceptance of some of his relatives disgusts him, and he has all but broken off ties with all of his family, and lives in relative seclusion in his manor.

Appearance: Robert looks about ten years older than his fifty-three. His hair - the hair that remains, very receding - is all light grey. He is not corpulent, but he is far from frail and skinny. At about five-foot-ten and one-hundred-nintey-five pounds, he is very imposing. There are lines etched in his face that contain deep-seated hatred for the Lorenzos, and too many years of bad history. His brown eyes are almost black, just like his soul. He has a large nose; it dominates most of his face.
Biography: Robert was born to uncaring parents. He all but raised himself. As soon as he hit puberty, he got a job to pay for his own food. He didn't know how to love, because he was never loved. He was always a loner. How he met Antonia is still somewhat of a mystery. And then when the feud began, his heart shrunk into all but a black hole...

Character Name: Kerick Ramone
Character Age: Twenty-Five
Personality: Kerick can be like his father - totally malicious - but only because of his upbringing. Over the years, he has formed his own opinions and behaviors, and can actually be the sweetest person. He values human life to a greater extent than his father, yet has mixed feelings about the Lorenzos; rather, he's not sure what he believes...
Sexual Orientation: Love is love and sex is sex to Kerick; gender doesn't matter.
Appearance: Kerick's black hair is just long enough to cover his ears and tickle the very beginning of his neck. The bangs occasionally hide the piercing green eyes, set just above a small, ski-slope nose, dotted with freckles. In the right light, with the light expression, he still looks like a teenager. Despite being only five years away from the looming thirty, he manages to look younger than most. Kerick is skinny, but not so much that one would be able to see his ribs through his skin. He has enough muscle and body fat to look good, not sickly. Perhaps the only imperfection would be the scars along his back....
Biography: Kerick resents his upbringing, but fails to see how it has affected him, and how much like his spiteful father he has become. In those rare moments where realization of how similar he is to the b*****d sinks in, he is disgusted with himself.
When Kerick was younger, and he said things his father didn't like, Robert Ramone would take a knotted rope and lash Kerick on the back with it however many times he saw fit. Kerick is disgusted with these imperfections, as they are a part of the person his father made him into. Until these scars fade - never- he cannot change. That is his mindset, anyway.
When Kerick's uncle by marriage was senselessly murdered and his family began to crumble, he wanted so desperately to blame someone, anyone. Some sort of scapegoat. His father found that scapegoat for him - the Lorenzos. And so now, part of Kerick believes the Lorenzos are responsible, and must pay for what they had done to his family. But the other part of him isn't so sure...

Character Name: Marcia Ramone
Character Age: Twenty-six
Personality: Marcia is kind and caring, but also protective to a fault. She wants to keep her family from falling apart, but that seems completely impossible. Because of this she is generally depressed, though she puts on a brave face to hide it. She is also quiet outwardly, though her mind can be screaming while her mouth is shut.
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Appearance: Marcia has black hair and green eyes like her brother, though her hair is considerably longer. She generally keeps it in one braid, and it nearly reaches the small of her back. She also looks young for her age, and some have mistaken her and Kerick for twins, though her nose lacks his freckles. Marcia is about average height, about 5’5” or 6”—she hasn’t checked recently. She’s thin, but not so much that anybody thinks that she has an eating disorder.
Biography: Marcia grew up hating her father. In her eyes, he is the reason that their family is crumbling. He may not have killed Uncle Markus (though she wouldn’t be surprised if he had), but he was killing the rest of his family. Robert is the one person that Marcia would be almost happy to see die, and that realization scares her sometimes. Then she looks at what he’s done to this family, especially to Kerick, and that is rationalization enough for her. She also blames herself for Kerick’s scars, because she always wanted to step in and stop Robert, but was always too afraid of what he would do to her if she interceded on Kerick’s behalf.
Marcia’s attitude toward the Lorenzos is one of slight mistrust, but she doesn’t hate them. Most of the time, she thinks that it would have been completely pointless for one of them to have killed Uncle Markus, because what did they stand to gain? Only a lifelong enemy that they really didn’t need. There are occasions where she doubts her position, but the mere fact that her father wants his family to hate the Lorenzos based on a very unlikely suspicion is enough for her to want them to be innocent.

Character Name: Melissa N. Worthington
Character Age: 15
Personality: Quiet, withdrawn. Melissa has no friends, and no loves. She admires people from afar, but never gets close. Her people skills totally suck.
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual. This embarrasses her.
Appearance: Long red hair, which she keeps in a ponytail or braid. Brown eyes and braces. She wears contacts. Tall and thin, with freckles dotting nearly every inch of her face. She has a widows peak and pierced ears.
Biography:Melissa was brought up in a dark room with a small window, a cot, and a flap on the door. When she escaped to the outside world by starving herself until she was thin enough to go out the window, she learned of the feud. But alas, she knew neither of the families. Sure, her mother had invited them over to eat at their place, but other than sneaking out of her room and to the other house to listen in on their conversations, Melissa knew nothing about them. She finds them confusing, and actually she finds families in general confusing.

See, when Melissa was born, her father was in the navy. What he was doing, she does not remember. Her mother tried to take care of the two, but when the news arrived that her father was dead, the pressure and difficulty snapped something in her mother's brain. At age 3, the little girl was left in the dark room with nothing but a notebook and some pencils to amuse her. Food was passed into her room through the flap on the door. When school started, Melissa went. But her mother could not give goodbye kisses, go back-to-school shopping, nothing. Her mother is on constant psychology help, and probably doesn't even remember she has a daughter.

It was around the time her mother just forgot about everything that Melissa started the scream fest. There wasn't much to it. She just doubled over and screamed, her hands clapped over her ears, her eyes snapped painfully open and her voice reaching an octave opera singers would be jealous of. The scream fest wasn't for attention. Other than the servant sent to deliver her food, Melissa had no connection to any other people. She had no friends at school, no enemies, nothing. No one.

Eventually, the scream fest turned into singing, as she joined the choir and learned how to use her vocals. She became quite good, as no one was there to stop her from practicing all day and night.

And that was her life.

Until she starved herself and slipped out the window.
