It had been some time since Morgana and Ketsuki had parted ways after their clam hunting and finding the underground lake behind the waterfall. She had recently had her pups and they were currently housed in their clams that seemed to show their markings and colorings. And they were all like her, Angelics.

She was a proud mother, but she could admit she was a bit annoyed with most of the otters on the reserve. They either wanted to get close to her clams to poke or sniff at them or ask her who their father was and she didn't think that was anyones business really. Leaving in them in her den was out of the question, she wasn't going to risk something sneaking in and hurting her pups. Trying to keep them hidden in different places didn't help, someone always found them.

So now she was carting them around in a basket she was provided with, all three clams snuggled down on a few blankets. Sometimes she would just lay by the river and listen to the pups barking, chirping and peeping as they seemed to communicate with each other and her.

But also, her mind was preoccupied with the thoughts of a certain male Elder she had met and she couldn't quite understand why she couldn't stop thinking of him. In alot of ways, he was like her, especially in appearance. He was incredibly kind to her, helping her find a clam for one of her pups and she couldn't help but wonder how he was?

Tainted paws left a faint trail against the lush grass as Ketsueki wandered through the forest. His guide, a small dalmation otter named Domino, trudged along side him. The elder was not surprised that his often restless companion suddenly felt tired today. Ever since Ketsu united with the mini after his day with Morgana, Domino kept a close eye on him, even at night. It was actually somewhat humerous on how the dalmation mini would take his 'seeing-eye dog' job so seriously, even if he had been distracted long enough at times to be seperated from Ketsu. Sensing Domino's slowing pace, the blind elder paused under the shade of a large oak. "Perhaps we could rest here for a moment," Domino's agreement to Ketsu's offer was barely audible, but the elder's sharp hearing picked it up all the same. There was no harm in resting for awhile. It wasn't as if they were going anywhere in particular.

Ketsueki sat down as the mini guide curled itself into a comfortable position between two roots. Silently, he thought back to the day he met Morgana, a kind angelic and soon-to-be mother. He recalled their adventure; travelling upstream, finding a clam for one of her pups, dodging waterfalls, and discovering an underground cavern. He had not spoken to her since they parted that day, and he couldn't help but wonder how she was doing. Did she already have all her clams? If so, were they alright? Was she alright? How was she handling being a mother? He shook his head slightly as the questions flew through his mind at a dizzying rate. He was worrying too much. Of course she would be a good mother.

Still, he couldn't help but wonder if he would meet the angelic again. He was used to the fact of meeting an otter, only to never hear from them afterwards. Besides making a couple acquaintances, Ketsu never really had a true friend. Not until he met Morgana anyway. Friendship was a moderately new concept to him, and he didn't want to ruin it. Perhaps he hadn't seen Morgana in awhile because she had secluded herself to her den were she could monitor the pup's safety. Or maybe she had found someone to raise the pups with.
Ketsu felt his stomach flip at the idea, though he wasn't entirely sure why.

Sighing, he rose to his paws as Domino's breathing came out slow and relaxed, indicating that he was asleep. He stepped out from the tree's shade momentarily to stretch. The sun's heat hit atop his head almost instantly as he slipped from the safety of the shade. It must have been mid-day. Eat and sleep were not essential to Ketsu for reasons he often felt uncomfortable revealing to others. Brushing dry flakes of blood from is pelt, the blind otter listened and smelled his surroundings. Several birds flew by, often returning to their crying chicks with insects of sorts. Nothing different there. He twtiched slightly at what he thought was a familiar trace of blood on the wind. 'Your worrying again.' he tried to reassure himself.

The smell of blood that Ketsu had picked up wasn't a figment of his imagination, it was actually Morgana, silently making her way up towards where Ketsu and Domino were, but she didn't know who she was about to run into. Clutched in her maw was the handle of her basket, the clams snuggled inside. She was out of the den for today, wanting to hunt herself some fish and maybe some crawdads, but first she had to find a good place to hide her clams from prying eyes.

Ketsu retreated back to the cool shade of the tree's branches where his guide snored softly. He circled the trunk slowly as to not trip over the roots. He had been told once that otters had the ability to scale the trunks of trees to the lower branches, which were like thick sticks that poked out from the side of trunks. Slightless eyes glanced upwards as Ketsu came to a stop. Climbing was never in his favor; he doubted it would be today. His ears swerved suddenly as he turned away from the tree's thick trunk to sit next to Domino. Though he couldn't hear it yet, he thought he could feel someone coming. The light scent of blood still lingered on the wind. The elder's tail flicked slightly as if expecting someone to approach them any minute. Perhaps he was being paranoid...

Morgana pushed her way through a few bushs, smelling the river close by. She stuck her head out first and then pushed the rest of the way through, the basket swinging a little bit. She started looking for somewhere to hide her basket, still not noticing the other otters that were there.

Ketsueki flicked his ear as he heard something rustle in the bushes. It was usually not in his intentions to pry, but this unknown source of sound made him feel anxious. "Hello?" he called out softly, hoping not to startle whatever was moving in the undergrowth. The source of the blood smell could have been one of three things; the only other otter that Ketsu knew had blood on her fur, an injured animal, or a predator who had just eaten. Shifting slightly, he hoped that is was not the latter choice.

Morgy froze when she heard someone and she turned her head to see who it was. Her eyes widened and she put her basket down to speak, "Ketsu, is that you?" she called to him.

As the familiar voice reached his ears, Ketsu realized who it was in a heartbeat. "Morgana?" He stood and took a step foward, but then paused in disbelief. "It's me," he said, wondering if the she-otter could see him from where she was standing. His ears tilted lightly, trying to mark her location from the direction of her voice.

She smiled softly at how he was trying to find her and she called to him again, "I am close to your left Ketsu and I brought my clams with me!" she said with pride.

He turned to his left and padded over to the angelic, making sure he didn't leave the mini too far behind this time. "It's wonderful to speak to you again!" He sat down after reaching her and smiled softly as she noted she brought her clams with her. "Are they doing well so far?"

Morgana was quite happy to see Ketsu again, happier then she thought she would be. She sat down when he finally came over and smiled, "I am glad to see you as well!" she said, blushing lightly. "Yes, they are doing quite well, listen, you can hear them in their clams." she said, going quiet. And yes, you could hear the little squeaks, chirps and barks emitting from the clams.

He leaned in breifly to indeed hear the small chirps and peeps. "That's good to know," he murmured, pulling his head back. With a happy sigh, he wrapped hit tail around his paws. "Did they turn out the way you had expected?" He could smell traces of blood on the clams.

"Yes and no. One looks like me, but each looks different, so I am glad for that." she said with a nod. "I have them in a basket, apparantly new clams seem to attract alot of attention." she said, slight annoyance in her voice.

He chuckled softly. "Looks don't matter much to me, but I'd imagine it'd be hard to tell them apart if they were all the same." He began to nod at her words, unknowing that is was unwanted attention that the elder angelic was receiveing. His head tilted at the agitation in her voice. "How so?"

Morgana sighed a bit as her tail flicked against her basket lightly, "Well, other otters seem to find clams quite fascinating, which is fine with me really. I just don't like it when they seem to think they can come up to my clams to poke and sniff at them. And then they ask me who is the father." she said, sounding very irritated now as her ear twitched.
