Evelyn was wandering the gardens at the Project House. Her mother had brought her here to try and get the girl to make more friends. Something Evelyn wasn't the best at. Sure, she was great with her nephew, but the kid seemed scared of her own sisters. Not that that was really surprising, when one looked at Alaqua and Allete.
Ever since Niki discovered the girl's love for flowers, she'd taken the kid to parks and gardens. But with the exception of Riddik, the girl had ignored the other kids to look at the flowers. And she'd already met the boy when they ran into him at the park. The woman knew that several of the Edens visited the Project House and she hoped that one would hopefully befriend her shy daughter.

Teagan was so busy repairing a few trouble spots in the roof that he almost didn't notice the small girl wandering in the garden. For a moment his heart stopped and he saw a miniature version of Rose down there, striding aimlessly around. But no, it couldn't be her. She walked with a distinct pride, something this small child was lacking. Curious, and hoping to catch her before she got into the pond, he hooked his hammer back into his belt and swung his legs over the side of the roof, dropping quite uncerimoniously onto the grass a few yards from her. He straightened his legs and dusted off his jeans, giving himself a once over to make sure he hadn't pulled anything. These little feats of agility were becoming harder the less he practiced. "Hey! You there," he called as gently as he could, "Where's your mother?"

Evelyn had been looking at a rather pretty pink flower when someone suddenly spoke nearby. The girl gave a start, glancing about. Her eyes fell upon the older boy. "She's... over there..." The girl muttered, pointing back across the garden. She'd wandered quite a bit since arriving, but there were so many pretty flowers to see...
Something about the way the boy'd said that almost made her think she couldn't be here. "I... I was just... looking at the f'owers..." Her voice started soft and got even softer as she continued.

Teagan scratched his chin absently, turning to look where she had pointed. He didn't really see anyone over there, but that didn't mean there wasn't. "You have to be careful out here," he cautioned, crouching down to her level, "The flowers are all fine and good but the pond is dangerous. Stay away from it okay? If you want to look at the water lillies I'll fish one out for you, but I don't want you falling in." He cracked a smile, "There's enough trouble around here as it is."

Niki was, indeed, over where the girl had pointed. But the woman had laid down upon the grass, reading a book. The quiet was a welcome change from her home...
"Oh. Dangerous?" Evelyn glanced over at where the pond was. "Lillies? Are they pretty too?" She tilted her head a bit to the side at the boy's last comment. Trouble wasn't good, right? But he was smiling...

"It's um, deeper than it looks," he said quickly, not wanting to explain the whole situation with Eden. He gestured to the pond, where a few wide petaled pink and white lillies drifted on the small ripples brought on by the wind and the movement of the frogs. "They smell wonderful, and some people pin them into their hair. Like for dancing and drawing attention to themselves." He wandered to the water's edge and reached out onto the surface with the hook of the hammer, trying to fish a white lilly out.

"Ooh..." The girl wandered a bit closer, though staying back from the water. She smiled a bit, watching some of the frogs. "They look pretty!" She was happy to see Teagan try and fish one out for her. He seemed nice... Big, but nice... The girl glanced back, trying to spot her mother and make sure the woman was still there. But she seemed to have wandered farther than she could see...

Getting the flower to the bank Teagan snatched it up from the water and held it out to her, still slightly dripping, "A beautiful flower for a beautiful little girl." She reminded him a bit of his sisters, soft spoken and a little shy. That was going to be bad if they ever needed her in Eden. Sure, she didn't have to be quite as outgoing as he was, but she needed to be able to speak up when she needed to.

"Thank you..." Evelyn took the flower, blushing a bit. She held it closer and peered at it. It was very pretty. A thought suddenly struck the girl. She didn't know the boy's name! "I'm... Evelyn." She told him, though she appeared to be speaking more to the flower than to the boy.

He tipped her chin up with a finger, grinning as he did, "Teagan, I'm kind of a jack of all trades here. Mostly I fix things for Shouko and Tyyne." His tail flicked back and forth as he straightened up and stretched, glancing down at her. "So what do you do for fun Evelyn?"

Evelyn blinked as he lifted her chin up, forcing her to look up at him. "Jack of all... trades?" She hadn't heard of that before. "Shouko and Tyyne? They nice?"
"Fun?" The girl paused for a moment. "I play with my dollies at home... And Mommy takes me to f'ower gardens."

"It means I do a lot of different stuff," he explained, "Shouko and Tyyne are both very nice, they're both flower souls, and they manage a lot of the stuff around here." As far as he could tell she was a flower soul, she certainly didn't show animal traits. What they, he didn't know. Holly maybe. He nodded at the mention of dolls and flowers, his sisters liked those too. "Have you ever tried dancing? Or flips?" he asked, doing a backflip as if to show his meaning.

"Oh." The girl perked up a bit at the next part. "F'owers? Like me!" Anything that was flower related was automatically nice and pretty. "Dancing? Flips?" Her eyes grew wide as Teagan did a backflip and she shook her head. "No... looks fun, though!"

"Gorgeous flowers. And it's very fun. Sometimes I even do it in front of whole crowds of people," he laughed, "Do you want to try? I'll help and I won't let you fall, promise." He had never been shy, but he remembered well enough when Tyyne was positively walled off from anyone else.

The girl seemed torn for a few moments. It looked fun, but... well, the fun part won over. "O-okay. What do I do...?" He'd made it look so easy, but Evelyn was sure it wasn't. She fidgeted, her fingers playing with the lily.
