This is the latest incarnation of the Au'Shinduago map. Due to lack of progress in decided how to go about treating Au'Shinduago differently than the other towns, I went ahead and just did it. I tried to stay as faithful as possible (using my bland and basic map tiles) in representing the original map which Valatar had constructed and shown me. I realize this map is grossly a grossly oversimplified version but I believe it reflects what seems to have been Valatars idea: numerous tunnels making the city almost mazelike and difficult to get around without passing through chokepoints. Also, the entire city had access on the original map from only waterways. I changed this and added one tunnel leading out of the city to the east (though it requires crossing a river).

Not bad Draevir.. I can work with this. Its not as artistic as what I was going with, but I can definitely cope with the variance if it helps everyone. I kinda like this new style.. it makes it very easy to see things in a strategic view. You really got the idea of what I was going for with the whole city layout very well. I assume i can still keep my hanging fortress and its walled lower estate?

Faction leaders can PM me if they have a preference as to where they would like to be. It will be a bit before I can convert my current map to this format so take your time and consider where you might like to be within the city.


To add, I will say too that the reason the tiles are blocky renditions of caves and such, is for simplicity of play. The actual caves are not really going to be that boring, this is just the "Play Map." Things such as large stalactites, stalagmites and giant stone colums do not need to be rendered on the this play map at this stage.

I can always make a new tile if one doesn't exist to cover a certain needed formation or connection on this map, so just let me know via pm what's needed and I'll work on a new tile for it. Until then, just use an existing tile as a temporary fill if you want.

Actually.. I'd like to get all the tiles you have currently. I downloaded the ones you posted in the Game Forum, but as there are no city or urban tiles, I wondered if you have those or if I should just create some using your format?

I also wanted to know what parameters your using for scale on this map. You have the large numbered squares and then smaller squares within each larger grid square. I'll need to know this to convert my map over to your style, as I use a pixel=2ft scale on my own map.

Valatar, I purposely left "scale" out of the eqation. No urban tiles were created because these maps are not including structures, they are merely the caverns. Structures are coming later.

And please ignore the smaller squares within each grid square. They have no use at the moment.

Yes... these maps are bland bland bland. There will be new ones. I've kinda' kept Valatar in a state of Limbo with my slowness (my apologies), but they will be transformed into more pleasing (and chibi-ish) images.

Map updated.

I would like the factions of Au'Shinduago to start staking claims (see town of Ulorbbath for examples).

Factions, pick a square to control.

Keep in mind, Valatar may come back and change your location, but I want to move forward on this, so if we have to change it, we can later.

i'm just waiting and hoping to see where he places teh Temple, (and also where he may decide the Au'Shinduago portal to my Mansion will be. it;s a small thing, just needs to be a door on a wall. preferably nearby the bazaar, though the placement is truely inconsequential.)
