Lauren can be coarse, rude and sardonic when in a bad mood, which is more often than she would like, and which is usually Emile's fault. She's a quiet sort, and doesn't really socialize well. She would greatly prefer a good book and a quiet hour alone to going out on the town and chatting up others.

Being trained to martial arts, Lauren is very physically fit. She is short and wears heels to make up for it. She has a large bite mark scar on her left leg, two twelve inch long scars on her right shoulder, and a small scar that goes across her throat.

Emile is selfish, self-absorbed, rude, crass, and an all-around jerk. He doesn't care overmuch for anything or anyone aside from himself, though he takes a certain delight in making Lauren crazy. He is fond of Lauren, though it would require at least seventy-two hours of continual torture to get him to admit it.

Emile looked distinctly demonic, with black feathered wings, long-taloned hands, and a pair of twisted gray horns that sprout from his head. He isn't a demon, however - Emile is an echo of the Word that was spoken to create the universe, a reflection of a single syllable of the Sacred Name. His syllable, it just so happens, was the one that created Darkness.
