In a far-off future, ruthless vampires and other supernatural creatures rule the world, and a half-human, half-vampire warrior named D roams the countryside hunting other vampires and battling his own inner demons. Meanwhile, Count Magnus Lee -- one of the most powerful and deadly vampires -- wants the beautiful young Doris as his bride and bites her to stake his claim. She begs D to kill the count to prevent her transformation.

This is the old one, which I believe was released in 1985.

I'm pretty sure there's a newer version that was released in 2002but I haven't seen it.

There's a manga as well.

both the old and blood lust were great but i prefered the old classic more since amano did the art work.

Its not 100% true but it is still worth the watch. Its been a while since I've seen it though.

I wouldn't say the plot is weak. It's just not explained very well.
I own both the old version and the new one and I think they're both extremely well done. However, I think the confrontation with Carmilla at the end of Bloodlust was rushed and she was far too easily defeated.

I've played the game on the ps1 that follows the plot of Bloodlust (I don't know what came first, the game or the anime). The game itself was very badly done, but I still liked it to an extent.

I'm pretty sure there was a game. Not many people bought it though (like the Lunar Complete series. Some of the best anime sequences and a gaurenteed memorable story).

For some reason, the only part I can remember is when he rolls the ring onto his sword. AWESOMENESS!!! xd

I've only seen a music video of Bloodlust and it was so awesome! It was done to the song "Haunted" by Poe.

What blood? I don't like lots of blood. That reminds me of Elfen Lied, that is a creepy bloody series.
