I DEMAND A RECOUNT! HOW CAN DBSK LOSE ON MNET'S 20'S CHOICE HOT GLOBAL STAR TO THIS OTHER GUY? THEY ARE ASIA'S #1!!! scream
PostPosted: Sun Aug 24, 2008 7:28 am

They are losing a bit of popularity in Korea, as of now. _,,_"

It's only because SM's focusing on raising their popularity internationally (mainly Japan and China), but I'm sure they'll be making a big come back soon.
They're coming out with a new Korean album or single... I believe.
I'm actually not sure. Maybe it's Japanese? xDDD
All I know is that it's pretty hot. There are so many pre-orders on it!

Anyways~ No need to get mad. xDDD
We all know DBSG is the best.

DBSG FTW!

I think the next album or single is Japanese. I'm wondering why their popularity would be decreasing in Korea; Korea should be incredibly proud of them for their rising international popularity. sad I know I am.

I actually heard that SM were trying to promote Super Junior over them, with the hopes of having SuJu eventually replacing them. Hence the focusing of DBSK-related activites abroad, and the timing of their album release (which will apparantly ensure that they miss the major awards). Something to do with the five-year rule.
I don't know how true it is, but since they seem to be getting more popular in Japan I can't see SM dropping them anytime soon. I'd say there would be other record labels willing to pick them up, but I know that the Asian music industry works differently to the western music industry. If they are dropped and picked up by another label, SM are looking at serious competition since SuJu can't even compare to DBSK.

I hope SuJu don't replace them. I don't like SuJu...there are too many members and their style is too outdated. The only one of their songs I like is Don't Don, and I can't even listen to that all the way through. They're like a Korean male version of Morning Musume.
DBSK is really the only boyband that I like :S.

Yeah, it's a Korean album. Their fourth one if I'm thinking correctly. And they just released a DVD according to YesAsia and CD Japan.
They need to slow down, lol, I can't afford all this stuff!

Seeing as they have an eight year contract with SM, I don't think we need to worry about them dropping our boys. Also, I don't think that SM would be stupid enough to think that they could replace TVXQ with SuJu. SuJu is aimed at a younger age group, and the strong friendships between the TVXQ boys and the SuJu boys ensures no rivalry between them, so as to break the boundaries between the two fan communities and make them BOTH more popular.

Oh, and SM would pretty much be committing suicide if they dropped the boys. I mean, seriously. The fan community would throw a fit. We all saw what an angry fan club can do when SM tried to add a 14th member to SuJu, they bought like 3% stock or something and then had a say in what was going on. And we all know that the Cassie's have way more power than the SuJu fanclub. Then if another lable picked the boys up. It would suck to be the person at SM who thought that was a good idea.

Also, there is a new Korean album being released on September 23rd, but they are also releasing a new Japanese single on October 1st. The JPop single will be a Japanese version of the lead-off track of their Korean album, the name of which is still unknown.

The DVD that was just released was the "A Week Holiday" thing. Or maybe you mean the T concert DVD. Either way, our boys have been busy lately, and they most definitely need to slow down, but it's not looking that way. Just hope they stay out of the hospital for a while.

I heard that they were hoping to use the SuJu friendship to encourage DBSK fans to buy their records. But Cassieopeia (I know, I can't spell, lol) apparantly has a huge influence, and if DBSK did end up getting dropped in favour of SuJu then there's a whole lot of people who will hate on SuJu just cause, lol.
It was just a rumour I heard (a pretty widespread rumour, it seems :S) and I don't really think it has any foundation, I just thought I'd mention it smile .
It would be suicide for SM to get rid of DBSK. Not only do they have a solid (and slightly crazy, it would seem) home fanbase, they have a solid fanbase all across Asia and even in countries where they don't even release their material. That's power smile . I also heard that the Japanese music industry is one of the hardest in the world to break into, so the fact that they have achieved number 1 songs over there is amazing, considering that they are foreign.

Yeah, I meant the T concert DVD. I can't remember if it has just been released or if it is just about to be released, but I was surprised because I thought it was already out. Proves how much I know, heh. Not that I can afford it right now, mind.
And yup, they need to take a vacation, lol. We don't want them wearing themselves out. It does make you worry sad .

I would not want to be on the opposing side of a war between angry cassies and anyone. lol. Seeing as they number over 800,000. That would be just plain scary. Plus all the fans TVXQ has overseas.

The T Concert has been released (at lease in Japan), this I know for sure, because I have it. And it is pretty spendy. My wallet is still feeling the pain from the purchase and I pre-ordered, so that was quite a while ago. lol.

It is very difficult to break into the Japanese music industry, I'd say that the only one that's more difficult is the American one, and that is because we here in America are what is called Ethnocentric. Meaning we only like American things. lol. Which is stupid.

TVXQ Fighting!

SM has been keeping TVXQ overseas in hopes that a few other groups might be able to gain some popularity, but they are well on their way back in thier home nation of Korea. They have been making tons of apperances on shows the last few months and they will be releasing thier new album in September.

I think LSM did a very smart thing by sending the boys overseas.
Not only does other groups benefit from the absesnse of DBSK,
so does our boys too.
I mean,
you don't want to oversaturate Korea with them, right?
Because if they are EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME,
people will start to get sick of them.
Sometimes too much publicity and activities are a bad thing.
By keeping DBSK away for a while,
it gives the people of Korea a break,
so when DBSK comes back
and hopefully soon,
the people can welcome them with open arms.

The only problem is: can the people of SM find the right balance of time DBSK is away?

keep DBSK away for five years will kill their popularity,
but keep them in Korea ALL time will kill it just as fast.
