Once Upon A Time... Mythology is always an interesting subject. There are courses offered about mythology in high school and college. Greek mythology is perhaps the more commonly discussed. One character - or rather, race of characters - happens to be quite omitted from mythology. Mentioned here and there, and then pushed aside, into unimportance. Mentioned at the beginning of the epic tale, "The Odyssey," the muse is, in fact, important in not only mythology, but the lives of artists today. They take many forms, from stuffed animals, to music. They inspire artists - writers, painters, singers - to further their work, and possibly change the world, even in the most minute way. Five humans, extremely talented young artists. All their lives are intertwined. They are friends. They are close enough to be called family. They each have their own muses - or the inanimate objects they call muses, anyway. But what happens when lines are blurred and broken, and the actual muses, beautiful deities, once invisible, can step through to meet those they are meant to inspire? Friendships may form, and love may abound...

Rules
~You're not perfect; don't try to be. ~Be literate. Put punctuation where it's supposed to be, and spell words as Webster put them in the dictonary. ~No cybering. Sorry. I don't want to read that. At least, not on Gaia. Romance is, obviously, encouraged. ~You may have a maximum of TWO characters - they cannot be both human or both muse. One of each. And if you decide to have two characters, make their font colors different. ~Cursing isn't attractive. Granted, I'm sure everyone here does it. Just try to keep it from being over-the-top? i.e.; F*** that m*****f*****, that b**** ain't know s*** like a c*** c***s****** w****. Got it? ~I won't accept anything other than humans or muses. Sorry. PM me profiles with the subject Inspiration. But no vampires or werewolves or demons, et cetera. ~First person, third person; it's all the same to me. Whichever you're more comfortable with. ~Follow Gaia's terms of service - as if you don't already know that. ~No discrimination. I won't tolerate it. ~If you get into an argument, take it to PMs. ~I'll know if you read the rules. ~I like squigglies. I only added this rule so I could do another squiggly. The squiggly is my favorite letter. ~~~~ ~Have fun :3

I Am The Inspiration Behind Your Talent... DragonFly1616 The name behind it all: Dragonfly1616 The artist shall know me as: Kestel Armonda Isn't it obvious?: Female Mythology ages us greatly: 60 I am who I am: Straight And I do what I do: Curious and outgoing, she is stubborn to no end, and takes great pride in her record as a Muse. I've seen this face in the mirror for so long: I have been an inspiration to many: Kestel has been a muse to many in her years (About 4 people) but her most current achievement would be the band Muse. How d you think they got their name? Anything else?: Kestel loves being an inspiration, but knows she has a long way to go to get as good as the other Muses. Kathryn Moondancer The name behind it all: Kathryn Moondancer The artist shall know me as: Erys Isn't it obvious?: Female Mythology ages us greatly: I appear to be around 25, but I am reallyabout 500 years old. I am who I am: Honey, as long as you are cute, and are smooth with the lines, you have a chance in my bed! And I do what I do: Erys is a lover of painting, drawing... anything that can be put onto a canvas and framed. And sometimes not on a canvas... She is very bubbly and outgoing, which sometimes wears on the nerves of her fellow muses. I've seen this face in the mirror for so long: Erys is about 5'3" with long light brown hair and green eyes. She wears dresses that would normally be considered well out of style if they didn't look so flirty on herself. I have been an inspiration to many: Michealangelo was one of her most favorite to work with. Just watching him work on the Sistine Chapel was something amazing to her. She has inspired many others since then, but none have ever accomplished something on such a large scale, and she feels she will never find anyone that will be inspired to do something like it ever again. Je Suis La Vie The name behind it all: Je Suis La Vie
The artist shall know me as: Phisarious
Isn't it obvious?: Male, duh... razz
Mythology ages us greatly: 2300 human years, though it means nothing to me
I am who I am: Gay, I mean I was Apollo's personal muse... :p
And I do what I do: Very open and light hearted. Loves to play around, always joking.
I've seen this face in the mirror for so long: Beautiful??? I know. I may be short, only being around 5'5", but I am usually the center of attention. If I'm not, then I'm forcing you to pay attention to me.
I have been an inspiration to many: Michelangelo, you know that David sculpture was inspired by me right??? And the Beautiful works of Leonardo De Vinci, all me.
Anything else?: Je'ami bunny is always with me, the one thing I love more than being the center of attention Dae Dae The name behind it all: Dae Dae The artist shall know me as: Traigéide Isn't it obvious?: Male Mythology ages us greatly: 2,426 I am who I am: Bisexual And I do what I do: Traigéide has a pleasant, but absentminded personality. His head is overly full with thought and creation; he can hardly focus on what he is doing. When he does pay attention, his interest is intense to the point of being uncomfortable. Despite a deep interest in human tragedy, he is optimistic and generally happy. He is kind, outgoing and sincere to a fault. I've seen this face in the mirror for so long: Traigéide has long, curling hair of a very dark green and eyes that glow a cold green tinted blue. His skin is very pale with hints of blue as though he has been frozen. His nails are black and slightly long; his fingers and toes are abnormally long and thin. Each finger bears an extra joint. His body is somewhat tall and waiflike with slightly broad shoulders. He prefers to dress with the times usually, but has an eclectic taste for elements from the past; just about anywhere in the past from recent decades to centuries forgotten. I have been an inspiration to many: Traigéde studied at the feet of Melpomene when he, and the world, were still very young. He was called a different name then, though he no longer remembers it. He learned of tragic plays and how they affected those who watched them performed. However, it seemed to him that tragic events off stage very seldom had a similar effect. It confused him that something so moving and life changing on stage was swept away and meaningless in life. Since that time, he has devoted himself to inspiring those who have been touched by tragedy. He caused no harm, only followed catastrophes as they happened to choose his future artists.
He did not stay in Greece; he had always felt the benefits of the Muses should not be confined by walls or city lines. When he had reached about two hundred and fifty years of age, one hundred and fifty years before Christ, the muse found himself traveling in Ireland. This is where he was given the name Traigéide and a false reputation for causing harm. Many believed that he created tragedy in order to rip his intended artist away from anything they held dear and make them more receptive to his gifts. He was thought to be a fae similar in nature to Leanan Sidhe. He did not mind these falsehoods; all that really mattered to him was inspiring someone. And if he inspired strange myths of ill intent, then so be it.
Traigéide has inspired many from every walk of life, but perhaps one of his favorites was Edgar Allen Poe. He had previously inspired Edgar’s mother, then Eliza Arnold, shortly after the death of her father in London. Pleased with how instantly Eliza had taken to success, he continued to visit her through the deaths of two husbands. When Eliza finally died a year after her third husband abandoned her, Traigéide could not help his interest in the child she had left behind. Edgar was resistant to him for many years, but eventually the muse’s suggestions took. After his brother’s death, Poe became even more ardent in his desire to publish, but when Poe lost his wife to tuberculosis, Traigéide tried something he never had before. He revealed himself to Poe; he’d wanted to meet the product of two generations of his influence. Traigéide now suspects he may have driven Poe more than a little mad; the artist died two years later of what appeared to be several causes, including suicide. It was a terrible end, but Poe still a favorite project. After all, few people managed to even die creatively. Anything else?:Traigéide regrets his very obviously not human appearance. He wants to experience more of the modern world, but feels he is stuck watching it over everyone else’s shoulders. anti-colour-stars The name behind it all: anti-colour-stars The artist shall know me as: Timathy McClean. Isn't it obvious?: Male. Mythology ages us greatly: 600 years of age, but looks around 19 years old. I am who I am: Bisexual And I do what I do: I tend to worry how I look and look in the mirror alot. I like lots of music, Classical and rock music are my main favourites, but anytype will do. I myself can play the piano, but do not often. I smoke, and I drink whiskey in the evenings, but never get drunk. I see no point 'staying heathy' when I will always keep this body. I've seen this face in the mirror for so long: Brown eyes, black hair, cigarette in hand, I am a thin figure with no muscles on show, top on or off. I dress to arract women more than men. I have been an inspiration to many: I normally go round inspiring who ever I come across. I have inspired the song I still hear today. One's by a handsome young man, if only in those days it wasn'r seen as wrong. His name was Ludwig van Beethoven. He was beautiful, and of his songs, he was a genius. Anything else?: I inspired someone a few years back, She painted, played guitar and I thought her all about the world, she thinks I'm dead though, but I never got to tell her my name, I have always regreted that, and since then, I have been more open to people.

...And I Am The Outlet for Your Inspiration ThEndOfHeartache927 The artist within: ThEndOfHeartache927 What I tend to go by: Lee Granite Years fly by: Seventeen The way God (or whoever) made me: Male; bisexual Ever since I was little, I was able to: Write anything from poetry to intricate stories. Well, the intricate-ness of the stories took time. I've always been: A little quiet, but not an introvert. I'm always happy to meet new people, but I'm afraid to put myself out there too much. I'm scared of scaring people away. It's part of the reason I have trouble opening up. Overall, I'm a nice guy, but if you mess with me, I can be a not-so-nice person, and you'll regret crossing me. People call me emo quite frequently. I'm tired of telling everyone I don't believe in labels. I'm not emo - I'm Lee Granite. Not trying to be anything under a certain category. The surface hides what's within: I have brown hair that falls to just below my ears. I'll wear it down and messy or back in a ponytail, depending on my mood. When it's back, my face looks thinner, the features sharper. The grey-blue eyes - color of a sea during a storm - are penetrating when left unhidded by strands of hair. I'm five feet nine inches tall and one hundred and seventy pounds. I don't look it; I look almost lanky. Mostly because I usually wear baggy jeans. Not the kind that hang off your a**, but the loose kind. Hoodies, too. I wear hoodies quite frequently. A lot of people call me emo because of the way I dress, as well as the way I act. Events pass by, and the most important remain: I haven't been through anything terribly important. The years just go by, and nothing really eventful happens. I was raised by normal parents in a normal home. I wasn't spoiled, but I wasn't denied the occasional just-because gift, either. I guess the only things that matter are my writing and my relationships. One kind of fueled the other, in a way. The more I became involved in a relationship, the more I wrote. I've been in a total of two relationships - count 'em, two. One was a girl, the other a guy. Go figure. The breakups were the best fuel for the word-fire. That's not exactly a good thing, but the products were good things. Poems, pages of them, and short stories. I wrote my first novel before my first breakup - hell, I think it was before my first relationship. It was a short thing, about a hundred pages, but I'll be damned if it didn't have a substantial plot, if I do say so myself. After the second breakup, things kind of just spiraled down, and I became a little more introverted, a little more into my writing than usual. Maybe heartbreak is my muse. Or maybe it's just love in general. Anything else?: My Gloomy Bear is never away from me. He's pink, six inches tall, with blood under his little white muzzle and on the tips of his plastic claws. Elliptic Sin The artist within: Elliptic Sin
What I tend to go by: Leaya Flaire
Years fly by: 18
The way God (or whoever) made me: Female,Straight
Ever since I was little, I was able to: Play music
I've always been: Sassy to the point of being arrogant she's speaks her mind and is always to the point. She loves to be the center of attention when she can get it, but she hates when people make a point to ignore her. To her music is the thing that keeps her going, the only thing that truly belongs to her and her only whether she's playing it on Divine or on another instument
The surface hides what's within:
Events pass by, and the most important remain: Leaya's childhood wasn't exactly a bad one. To some her child hood was better than most. She wasn't abused, she wasn't taken advanage of, she was simply....ignored. Ever since her mother had died when she was five years old it was almost like she wasn't even there any more. As if she didn't even exsist. And with no one willing to play with 'the snob' next door there wasn't anything that could relieve her loneliness. At least there wasn't until she discovered Divine, a old french horn that once belonged to her mother.
Anything else?: Favorite treat is stawberry pocky, hates when it rains but loves when it snows. Likes to draw from time to time but has no real interest or talent for it. Favorite color is purple Kathryn Moondancer The artist within: Kathryn Moondancer What I tend to go by: Alexandra Martin Years fly by: 20 The way God (or whoever) made me: Female, prefers males (usually) Ever since I was little, I was able to: Sing and play the piano I've always been: Uncertain of myself. Everyone tells me that I'm good and should try to sell my ability to sing and play the piano to make money, but I don't think I'm good enough. I try to make friends with everyone, and get hurt when people are rude to me. The surface hides what's within: Alexandra is about 5'7" with long black hair and dark eyes. She is neither pancake flat nor overly volumptious, making her seem rather average in that area. Events pass by, and the most important remain: Alexandra grew up in a small rural town in the midwest. Both of her parents were teachers, her mother in Englush teacher, her father, the school band director. She grew up with music around her all the time, and seemed to thrive on it. Unfortuantly, when she was six, her mother was in a horrible car accident and died. Her father never remarried, and they both took to the only outlet they knew: music. It was their solace, their great comforter. By the time Alex was in junior high, she was composing her own music, and her father let her use the compositions in her recitals and in concert band events.
When her father was offered a position at a university as a their band director with a full scholarship for Alexandra, he instantly took it. They both moved to the new, larger, busier city, and Alex got her own apartment near the university once she finished high school. Granted, it is just down the street from where her father lives, so he still comes by often to check on his only little girl, sometimes to her amusement, sometimes to her annoyance. She loves her dad dearly, but really wishes he would go start dating, or something, and not pester her quite so much. dragonhealer The artist within: dragonhealer What I tend to go by: Lilly Sniper {Lill} Years fly by: 17 The way the Goddess made me: A female who loves everyone. Ever since I was little, I was able to: draw and create a reality on a flat surface. I can mimic human flesh with nothing but charcoal and paper. I love draw figures and create characters on the page or canvas. I've always been: loud, unruly, and outspoken. OR so they say. I love to tell everyone what I think when I think it. And to make others happy. But after a along day when I’m alone I tend to shatter and become very quite and sad. Mostly because I know I will never be as good as I wish to be. The surface hides what's within: She is taller than most girls, and a little clumsy looking. Her blond hair flows down a few inches below her shoulder blades, and she normally keeps most of it off her face one way or another. She likes to wear light cool tings that she won’t have to worry about and never buys from the store preferring to buy from an organic free trade website; because of this she does not have many sets of clothes. She has a pale completion and her face is sprinkled with sun beam worshiping freckles. She had dark dull blue eyes that always seem to be contemplating something. Lilly Events pass by, and the most important remain: Lilly was born to a thirty-three year old widow in Vancouver Canada. She grew up very much alone, her mother had to work hard at her office job to make enough to keep their home and feed her, but most importantly to pay for her art classes. At a very young age Lilly showed talent in visual arts, and her mother knew that it would become a very important part of her life. Every Tuesday and Wednesday for most of her life she would go to art class from five to eight at the local museum. And there she grabbed the attention of the museum’s administrators. She was given special attention and threw the years was granted many gifts of art supplies and books. When she turned sixteen she was sent of an exchange trip to France to learn painting from a master. She was sent back early because of her rude mouth and lake of skill. Unknown to her the painter who was so post to teacher her was also going threw a hard divorce and could not handle a student at the time. This hit Lilly very hard; she was devastated and refused to show anyone her drawings for months. She slowly started to regain her trust in others but has a lot more self doubt, and hate now. Anything else?: Lilly has a weakness for sweets, and loves music. She can not sing or play an instrument, she is very much tone deaf. She likes animals but hates horses and cows. She thinks all old men are out to get her. Fairy Alchemist 96 The artist within: Fairy Alchemist 96 What I tend to go by: Desina Flamel Years fly by: 19 The way God (or whoever) made me: Female Ever since I was little, I was able to: Play classical instruments brilliantly eg.Violin,Piano I've always been: A bit of a messer, funny, artistic(obviously) The surface hides what's within: As you can see from the pic,I'm not very stylish. Events pass by, and the most important remain: I consider myself as a child prodigy, like the child from 'August Rush'.My passion has always been Music, but I'm a little bit of a writer and sketcher too (though I dont think I'm very good at it.)

DISCLAIMER I know this is a bit confusing, but bear with me. When you PM me your profile skeleton, Muses, I'll tell you who you're "inspiring," and I'll be telling the "humans" or "artists" who is "inspiring" them. It would be nice if relationships could form perfectly (i.e. there'd be a perfect number of girls, guys, and gays), but I know that (probably) won't happen. But Muse One does not HAVE to be romantically involved with Artist One. They may meet the other Artists, or they may even fall for another Muse. This RP doesn't have to be strictly romance; it may be a group of artists that know each other, and their muses slip through the crack dividing the two planes. Friendships form, but maybe romances don't. Got it? Okay. 4laugh
