Minagi sat in the back corner of the coffee shop, a large white chocolate mocha steaming in front of her and she sat with her sketchbook laying on the table, her blue mechanical pencil sticking out of the corner of her mouth. She come out from some inspiration and hopefully with a bit of luck spot some one she knew from school. But so far to no luck. The weather outside was nasty, rainy and humid. She peaked out the window and shivered in disgust. She hated the rain with a passion.

She looked solemnly back down at her blank sketch book and sigh taking the pencil out of her mouth and setting it down on the table and taking a swig of her Mocha. It was warm and soothing. Maybe she'd dare to indulge herself on one of the mammoth muffins with chocolate chips while she was here. As long as it didn't make her a** expand anymore. And by the look of the weather she'd be trapped inside of the coffee shop for some time.

Her spaded tail swept back and forth over the floor like a cats, her black pointed horn towering over her slanted black hair. She never knew why but not matter what she did, her tips were always red, she'd given trying to make them go away and just put up with it.

"Why does it always rain when I forget my umbrella?" muttered a very disgruntled Kyou. He hated the rain, with a passion. His ears were stuck to the back of his orange hair to prevent the rain getting in them. Kyou was not a happy kitty. He truly hated the rain. It made him overwhelmingly tired and even more grumpy then normal. It was summer so it was warm and humid despite the rain which meant that Kyou had been wearing a t-shirt when the downpour started.

His black t-shirt clung to his well defined body. Years and years of martial arts had sculpted the boys body into a perfect fighters physique. Usually he tended not to wear anything too showy, attracting even more attention to himself then needed. His tailed flicked from side to side, showing how irritated he was by the rain, if his glowering expression already didn't. His hands dug deeper into his jeans, his bracelet coming up over the top of pockets.

He passed a cafe as the downpour continued to ensue. As the rain got steadily worse he decided it would be best to go inside for a little while. He got in the door, dripping slightly on the doorstep. He felt like shaking himself like a dog but stopped himself as his orange hair and sopping appearance had already attracted some serious attention from the people around him. He hunched his shoulders and walked over to the counter. "I'd like a large, black coffee please." he said, his voice deep and gruff. He payed for the coffee before turning around, looking for a place to sit down.

Minagi stared at the orange haired, well formed young man who was wandering around searching for a seat. He was soaked to the bone and looking quite disgruntled. But something piqued her attention she stood up and waved him over. "Kyou! Kyou over here!" she raised her voice over he chatter in the cafe. A few people looked over at her and sneared she only looked back at them and gave them a dirty look. "You got a problem?" she asked and they turned around and went back to their business.

Minagi bit her bottom lip as she watched Kyou, hopefully he still remembered her well enough. Sure they had school together but they didn't have class together and rarely passed by each other in the hall. Once Minagi had hit puberty she'd started to avoid Kyou for the feeling he always gave her. She'd rush away with her book clasped to her chest her cheeks burning.

But now a days she was more bold. Apparently a few guys fancied her but she had no interest in them. She stuck to hanging around the art room and taking extra classes at the nearby college. She had changed a lot since her and Kyou had been close and had hung out. Her body had filled out nicely into a shapely young woman and her skin ton was a little tanner from her time outside drawing everything she saw that moved. Her nails short from chewing on them, she found anyways that long nails only got in the way when she was drawing or painting as it was. But Kyou had changed too, a lot from what she remembered him being.

Kyou looked up through his mop of very wet and very orange hair, strands dripping onto the ground, when he heard his name being called. He looked over to see Minagi, quite different from when he had seen her last. It had been years since he had seen the girl last.

Time had made the two grow apart. They had slowly drifted apart when they had gone to school, Kyou keeping to himself mostly but gaining some irreplaceable friends. Kyou had slowly become a more social person, but he was still sub par in comparison to the general population. But in school they grew apart, different circles, different friends, that was life and Kyou couldn't change that.

But Minagi. Kyou just stared at her for a second. She had changed quite a lot since he had seen her. When he had seen her last she was a girl but now she wasn't, not anymore. She was a young lady and Kyou certainly couldn't help noticing that. He stood there for a second, slightly dumbstruck before raising a hand slowly and giving her an all to cool wave. It wasn't meant to be as suave and cool as it seemed but that was Kyou in a nut shell. He seemed all cool but really he was just awkward.

He walked over to the table where Minagi was sitting, his trainers making an annoying squeeky noise on the laminated wood floor, his coffee cup still in tow. He sat down in the seat opposite to her, leaving a small pool of water where he had stood. "Minagi...nice to see you again." he said softly, his voice deep and rich.

Minagi felt a prickle in the spine when Kyoh spoke she sat there with her elbows on the table her own beverage in hand and was sipping it. "Been a really long time Kyou!" she said grinning that big smile she always had. If one thing had never changed about Minagi it was her smile. Always as big as it could be.

"I've seen you around school a couple of time, I wanted to come say hi but you always looked kinda busy." she said making a face. This was true, she had seen him but never approached, he was always surrounded by a group of guys and on a few occasions a few girls. She was pretty sure he had to have a girlfriend. He was one of the heart throbs as far as guys went around school. Minagi certainly liked Kyou, not that she was just going to out and say it. That just wouldn't be right.

Kyou was her friend first, if something more came along then it did. But she wasn't about to ruin her friendship with Kyou over something so stupid as a crush. Oh course Minagi was hoping that with every sip of her mocha (which half of them were completely fake sips) Kyou wasn't noticing that Minagi was checking him out seeing as his wet clothes left nothing to imagination and the transparent glass tables weren't helping either.

Kyou pulled at his hair, trying to dry it was best he could but it didn't seem to be helping so he ended up just giving up and leaving it to drip down his neck. He looked down, taking a quick sip of his coffee. He drank his coffee black and strong, with no sugar in it. It seemed to fit his personality all too well. "Yes it has." he said quietly, looking up from the black abyss settled in his coffee mug to meet the eyes of the grinning face opposite him. It wasn't until that moment that Kyou had noticed just how much he had missed the girl. That smile made him stomach twist with an odd feeling.

Kyou certainly didn't think of himself as a heart throb. In fact if someone had told him so he would have either laughed in their face or punch them in the same face. That latter was probably much more likely. Nearly all his friends in school had been guys. There had been a few girls in the mix but with his little...problem he tried to avoid girls if at all possible. He had never had a girlfriend and couldn't think of ever having one. Of course seeing Minagi he wished that it could be different.

"I've seen you around school a few times too." he said truthfully. "But you seemed to be busy or going somewhere so I decided not to go over to you." Whenever Kyou saw the girl she was always scurrying away, sketchbook in tow so everything that he was seeing now had come as quite a surprise, not that the boy was complaining or anything. To put it simply, the girl had filled out well and Kyou had to stop himself from staring, averting his eyes to the black abyss in a cup in front of him, which gave Minagi a good opportunity to eye him up without him noticing.

Minagi crossed her legs under he table her spade tail lashing about behind her. She swore sometimes she had no control over the damned thing and she was sure it was going to giver her away somehow. "Wow, normally I'm only headed to the art room. I spend most of my free time there and every Thursday after last bell I head to the community college for more art classes." she said she concealed her other habit of going out the the college early Saturday mornings for Tai Chi. She left the house at five in the morning and would be swaying with everyone else in the main garden.

Minagi mulled it over in her brain while she took a good mouthful of her Mocha which was starting to run a little low by now on whether or not to ask Kyou and finally settled on answering to her cat-like curiosity, she just had to know. "So you got a girlfriend?" she asked. She looked blatantly back down a her blank sketch pad as if it were suddenly very interesting.

Kyous' own tail flicked from side to side in a lazy fashion, trying to dry itself. His ears were finally no longer stuck to his head but instead perked upright, listening intently to the pretty girl opposite him. "Oh okay. I was sort of interested in where you were going." he said truthfully, looking back into his coffee. "I'm not that busy either. I'm usually in the gym, training mostly." he said quietly. He spent at least 4 hours a day training at least. He would do more but he simply couldn't get the time between homework and other such activities. He would just train all day if he could.

Kyou looked up again from his coffee, looking Minagi in the eye for one of the first times since he had sat down. He looked slightly confused. "Me?" he asked her. He really wasn't sure why she would be interested in this but was even more confused as to why she would think he had one. He made it his business to try and avoid girls if possible. Except Minagi, who he seemed to only avoid by pure accident. "Urm no. I don't. Do you have a boyfriend?" The flicking of his tail quickened slightly, though he tried to sound nonchalant about the whole affair.

Minagi suppressed a laugh and gave a slight snort instead. "Me? With a boyfriend I don't think so. The only guys who are interested in me are the ones in the art room and they just wanna draw me naked." she said shaking her head. "I told them to go ******** themselves." she said blankly. Of course there was a glint in her eye that she knew was there, a hope that maybe Kyou would ask her out. She didn't like any other guys. They were all show offs, all she would be is a another trophy on their shelf and she wasn't about to go for that. At least not for any except Kyou maybe.

"But yup, I'm just the usual art fanatic." she said staring into her cup at the inch or so of mocha left. When she had been younger she had loved to color and draw, but these days she training and classes was more geared toward the career area rather than fun. She was even beginning to enter we work in competitions and art shows. She hadn't won anything yet but her mother continuously urged her on, that it would take time to really get noticed.

"I was at your last tournament." she confessed. "I was taking photographs of the event for the school news paper." she said shrugging. she had taken a few of the photos to keep for herself, mainly the ones of when Kyou had been up. no one knew about this though but her.

Kyou listened intently. He really couldn't see why she didn't have a boyfriend. He would go out with her in an instant if it weren't for his horrible curse. But he did so he distanced himself from anything romantic or that would cause complications. He couldn't help but smirk at the last sentence. At least those guys got what was coming to them. How very Minagi. "Ah I see." was the only thing that came out of his mouth though. After all he couldn't get involved with her, not matter how much he wanted too.

He smiled. "Ah! I'm glad you havn't changed all that much then." he said happily. He was glad that she hadn't given up art anyway. He had always though that she was a fantastic artist. "What do you want to do once you leave school?" he asked, interested in what Minagi was doing. It had really been too long since he had talked to her last.

He looked back down at his coffee. She had seen him fight huh? He wasn't to sure of what he thought of that. Even if he was the star of their martial art team. "Ah I see. What did you think of it?" he asked her. "I didn't know you were the school paper photographer. That's quite cool." he said quietly.

Minagi felt a little let down, but she didn't let it show. She didn't want to complicate her friendship with Kyou despite her want to be with him so badly. Ever since they had been younger, she hadn't known it then but she'd had feelings for him since their first meeting. Slowly her mind began to work, but she wasn't going to act on anything until she had everything figure out.

She shook her head with a smile and drained the last of her mocha which had grown cold but she didn't care it was still good. "Nope, and I still beat the hell out of the guys too. Accidentally gave Shizuma a black eye." she said cringing. She hadn't meant to hit him that hard but apparently she had. "Well I want to get some of my work into an art gallery and probably travel with my work. Visit different Galleries and auctions and stuff. Gotta go through the ropes though, start out as a staving artist." she said, the thought just thrilling her. She was already planning out her one bedroom flat she was gonna get once she seriously started college.

Minagi actually blushed this time, she fiddled with her pencil a bit and stared at her sketchbook again rather than look Kyou in those orange eye that just made her all gooey inside. "You were great, nothing like I've ever seen before. I don't normally photograph, I was standing in for a friend of mine. I've taken photography class and had fun with it but it's just not quite my style." this wasn't a total lie, she had said she'd come with a friend to help photograph when the girl had fallen sick and had asked Minagi to take all the picture for her instead. unbeknown to anyone, over half a roll of fill had gone missing, all pictures of Kyou.

PostPosted: Sun Aug 24, 2008 9:57 am

Kyou laughed slightly, his laugh was still the same, only deeper and sounded almost like it wasn't used all to often. But Minagi always knew how to make Kyou laugh, even if it had been a long time since the two had talked to each other. "I assume your brothers have been their normal selves aswell!" Kyou said smiling, taking a sip of his coffee. "Oh cool! I'm sure you'll become a fantastically famous artist who's art will be shown all over the world." he said with a nod.

Kyou blushed embarrassedly looking back down at his coffee. He was very happy to hear that she had enjoyed him fighting but it was still embarrassing. "Oh I see. I'm glad you enjoyed the fight anyway. Oh I didn't get to see your photographs. I assume they were good though or otherwise they wouldn't have asked you to take them in the first place." Kyou said with a knowing grin.

At this Minagi turned bright red and she knew there was absolutely no hiding it. She could feel every inch of her face burning. He plan though was still working its way through he mind, still not finally in it's stages but she was getting there. She'd find a way to get with Kyou, and if he still turned her down they could still be close friends. Something that wouldn't put a niche in their current relationship. Kyou laugh though was still playing over and over in her head, it made her insides melt and squirm. Damn him!

Before Minagi could stop herself she blurted it out, "Oh I still have a bunch of the pictures at home." she said and inside of her mind she was committing suicide at the moment. Why had she gone and said that? She forced a calmness over herself and pretended like she hadn't said anything unusual, only problem was that every picture she had at the house was of him! But she played it cool, acted chill and just went with the flow. She'd just say she couldn't find the other pictures, they had...gotten lost in her room, she separated everyone's individual photos into groups, OCD. That was easy enough, and OCD was a plausible explanation, her room was always spotless and everything organized to just her specifics. It was something that had grown on her over the years.

Finally, a little light pinged off in her head. But she wouldn't say anything, act on anything just yet. She'd wait for the perfect moment, so Kyou couldn't escape her grasp...sounded almost evil to her but hell, she was a demon wasn't she? "So Kyou, what kinda stuff you into these day? You know music, movies?" she asked innocently, tilting her head. She was acting as if she were only curios to see how her friends taste has developed.

Kyou watched Minagi while she was looking down at he sketch pad. Wow that girl had grown up to be pretty. Kyou had, of course, noticed her in the halls but had never really gotten a proper look at her because she was always running off some place but now, sitting opposite her, he could see just how beautiful a young lady she had become. Her evil horns have grown bigger but seemed to suit the girl very well. Kyou was glad for this chance to stare at her so. He believed that he truly loved this girl, though he was sure he would only bring her misfortune.

Kyou then looked at her curiously. "Really you still have some of them. I would have assumed you would have thrown them out once your were finished. After all fighting is much better in real life than in photos, well thats what I think anyway. I wouldn't mind seeing them though sometime, if you wouldn't mind of course." he added, taking another sip of his coffee. At this point he was starting to run low on the coffee and was thinking about getting another.

Kyou looked at her, thinking for a second. He wasn't into to much if the truth were to be told. He spent most of his time training and when he wasn't training he was doing homework. But he did read quite a bit and he was slowly getting into music, with his other family members help. "Urm well I love my martial arts really. Those are still my first love but I like indie music I guess. I don't go to the cinema a lot. I don't really have time but I like action films. I guess I havn't changed much have I?" he said with a small lopsided grin. "And you? By the way what were you drinking?" he asked innocently.

Minagi shook her head. "There's no purpose in throwing them out! Use them for a school scrapbook when I graduate maybe...remember all the stuff I've done at school. Mom takes pictures of everything and makes me carry around a digital camera to make sure I capture all those special moments." she said rolling her eyes. Though really she loved flashy her camera out nearly everyday and taking pictures.

She tilted her head at this, she'd never heard of indie music. "I'm more of a rock fan myself. But Actions movies are awesome. I have a huge collection of them back at the house." she said. Her plan suddenly finalized itself to it's fullest extent. She hadn't remembered until now, and ooh she prayed that her plan would work. She was starting to notice a few of Kyou's small gestures, he had to like her, he just HAD to!. She then looked down at her empty cup and held it up. "White Chocolate Mocha, it's all I ever get. Once in a blue moon I'll slip for a hot cocoa." she said shrugging. She was addicted to the Mocha's since the shop had released them. Most of the people working here knew her and had her mocha ready before she even ordered it. Always made her laugh, that was for sure.

Minagi stood up and grabbed up her wallet from the tablet. It was a simple little thing, black with a little cherry in the corner of it's front. "I'm gonna nab another one while I wait out the rain. No way I'm going out there." she said striding off to the to chat with the young boy at the counter. All the way giving her hips a little 'extra' swing hoping Kyou would notice.
