Amatsila found herself in the middle of the field, doing nothing besides watching trees sway as if waving to her. She was too shy, even for trees, to smile back. No one really knows her in the soquili world, except for maybe some of her adopted family members. She had no real blood relation. The aqua mare sighed and stared up at the sky, it was sunset and the sun was almost setting. With the orange semi-circle making its way past their side of the world, she could come out and not have to fear seeing anyone. Amatsila closed her eyes and waited, waited and waited. After those lightly colored purple pupils appeared again, it was dark. No running was heard, or laughing of foals like it is during day time.

Lifting her self up and glancing left and right, also behind her, she made sure no one was around before walking out of the field and into the forest. It was beautiful in there. Tall trees that grew so tall, their branches spreaded out so far. Leaves covered those brances and flowers bloomed on some trees. Only bits and spots of the sky shown past those branches. You could barely see anything in the darkness of the forest. It was beauty nevertheless. Amatsila waited for her eyes to adjust before she continued walking. She felt like she could not be seen in the dark, and that comforted her. Thoughts of running into a crowd of soquilis taking a night walk would be horrible. Just two would about cause her to bolt. One soquili, could she handle just one?

The day always felt so long. It was do mainly to the abundance of noisy creatures that came forth to chatter away during the hours that the sun was awake for. While much could be learned in a few minutes of watching these clusters of creatures it was not worth the headaches that followed. This was why when the sun had sunk into it's resting place for the night Spinel Sun was preparing to leave his day time perch.

He stood and stretched on a large limb of a tree. With a few leaves and flowers for padding it actually made a comfortable resting place for the flutter who was currently no larger then a butterfly. His translucent wings rose from his back and fluttered a few times before stilling for a moment. His dark ears flicked to the side before he turned his head, someone was heading his way.

It did not take him long to spot the night walker. Even in the insufficient light she seemed to glow. Such a bright yet pale color she had. He watched her for a moment before deciding that she seemed to have no real reason to be inside the forest at this time of night. She did not look like the usual few that did venture in. "Are you lost?" He asked not moving from his small patch of light so he could be seen.

It was very peaceful in the woods. That was until she had walked into a group of trees that were quite thick and indeed very bushy. Some had flowers on them, pink in fact. Very pretty. Then someone, or something said something. Amatsila's heart sank, damn she wasnt alone. She stared hard in front of her waiting for a soquili and perhaps a few others walk around the corner. She would quickly race off into some other place. Nothing came, the mare flicked her head behind her and saw nothing coming her way either. Was she just hearing things? The mare did not move a muscle and waited for something to eat her, which made her heart jump at that thought. She hasnt seen much of soquili land so what she has not see yet, is a mystery to her. Her nose caught a scent, a lively scent. It was not flowers or the smell of pine. It was....another soquili perhaps? Paranoia gotten the better side of her.

Amatsila decided she did not want to stay here. Her little heart pounded in her and she started to walk again, but very very slowly. Flicking her head back and forth to see if anyone or anything was coming to get her. "The gods will protect you, so dont be scared, monsters are not true, so do not fear." A little poem made her heart slow down its beat. She hummed a soft quiet toon to keep her company as she paranoidly walked slowly on the forest path not knowing or seeing what ever made that sound.

When she did not answer he assumed that she didn't hear him. It didn't really surprise him he was small and that meant his voice was also smaller. He reconsidered this judgement as she looked behind her. So that was it. She couldn't see him. He sighed and shook his head. It was one of the bigger problems with being small, you were easily over looked. At times this could be useful but mostly it was a bit of a bother.

He fluttered his wings a few times before lifting off of the tree. While it was really none of his business if she was lost or not he didn't want to be overlooked in such a way. So, he would make himself known. As she began to move again he flitted over to get close to her so that he would be seen but paused. What was she saying?

He quirked a brow, did she think he was a monster. "You're not in danger you know." He said lazily fluttering in a spot near her head where he would be easily seen if she turned. "Most of the dangerous ones live deeper in so if you are afraid I would suggest not going there."

Awnaety looked towards where the voice had come from. It was a male, not as deep as normally guy voices were but she could still identify it. She took a few steps back in shock as she saw the smallest.....soquili in her life. A bit bigger than her hoof maybe? This made Awnaety's eyes widen. Was this....a fairy? Listening to his words, Awnaety just couldnt say anything because: One, she did not know and have never seen anything like him. Two, shyness. He looked as if she could blow him away if she simply opened her mouth to breathe. Nodding about the 'more dangerous ones' who lived in the deeper parts, that was all she could do. Awnaety could barely see him in the dark, because he was so dark. However she could make out the pebbles on his....wings? Those glowed and looked like fireflies were attached to his wings. Besides the pebbles, his eyes also glowed.

The mare opened her mouth to try and say something, but quickly snapped it back closed. Hoping he wouldnt see that. Too late to pretend she was mute since he probably already heard her. What could she say. Her eyes bolted from side to side just looking for something to hide behind. There was the obivious tree trunks, then there were some bushes too small for her. Does he own magic? Will he zap her into a...into a frog?! Another step was taken back. Maybe it was better to just slowly, very slowly get away?

As she stepped back he sighed, it was such a predictable reaction. So few knew about his race it was rather disheartening. He would like to see others take some interest in learning of the other races out there but that really was none of his business. He watched her for a moment longer and seeing her looking about made him shake his head.

"Don't be scared." Were the next words out of his mouth. She seemed very skittish and in this size it would be very easy for her to knock him away which could very well end in his injury. It was not something he wanted to happen. "I'm not going to hurt you..." He paused and took in how large she was in comparison once again. "In this size I do not think it would be possible to harm you at all."

After he spoke he realized that it may not have been the best way to phrase it. "Allow me to ask again..." He said trying to get off the subject of potential harm or lack there of rather. "Are you lost?"

She shook her head to his lost question. Awnaety has been on this path tons of times, she knew where she was going. Exactly. The sight of him was what caused the jaw-dropping gasping for air reaction. She shook her head this time to refresh her view. Was he real? Awnaety felt perhaps it was a bit she didnt answer, but could she? Could she really speak. Another attempt was made and she opened her mouth, but snapped closed once again. Snapping it open and closed made her look like a hungry crocodile. Taking deep breathes, she tried to calm herself. First the mare looked around them to see if maybe this was some two-legger trick that some sick two-legger made a puppet to scare those at night. The forest can be frightening, not only can you find a spot to hide in, but there were so many spots for other creatures to hide in. Her curiousity of if he is real, made her want to...check if he is. If this was some joke, she'd like it to end now. What if he was real? If she bit him, and he was....ouch. Perhaps it was best not to bite.

Leaning foward, stretching her neck furthest she can. The mare lightly nudged the flying soquili. She felt a bit of warmth come to her nose and his hooves kind of tickled her nostrils. Sneezing quite a few times, she looked up back at him and stared. It was rude to stare but...he was for real. No, no strings and no he was not made of wood or animal skin. So deep into thought about her new discovery, "What are you?" she finally spoke, raising one eybrow.

He wondered if perhaps skittish was not the best way to think of her. She seemed as though she were outright panicing. He didn't know her but he couldn't help but worry. Something didn't seem right with her, he had heard of being nervous around new people but never quite to this extent. Perhaps if her were a bit larger?

His thoughts were interupted as she leaned forward. His ears pinned back against his skull and he leaned away from her. It didn't do much good. He felt the warmth of her breath washin over him and a few moments later she sneezed knocking him backwards a bit. The look on his face was a frown of disgust.

He frowned more at her question. She really had no idea what he was. "I am a flutter...with traces of unicorn genes that give me this tail." Was his simple answer. He had gotten her to speak which could be a good thing but he would have preferred an apology for smelling him like a flower. "While my kind are not exactly commen we are not rare either, just hard to spot."

Awnaety realised he was talking to her and she had spoken. Immediately her shyness arrived back. Withdrawing herself away from him, she looked at him. Still staring hard to try and see all of him. The flutter didnt lok to happy with what she had done, perhaps it was best if she had kept her mouth shut in the first place. Another reason for her not to talk. She tilted her head to one side and then to the other. Then again it would be very rude if she suddenly stopped. Awnaety really did not feel like talking however. He also didnt seem to friendly, harless, or said so by him, but he didnt seem to like her. She straightened herself and simply smiled at him. Her firewall still up and ready to run if she had to. Flutter soquili? Was that the same as wind, she remember hearing about wind soquili and seeing them around, but she never spoken to one exactly. Uni soquili? How many types are out there. Oh boy didnt she need some lessons from a wise one. Or at least a two-legger. The mare wanted the ground to swallow her up as she saw the frown on his face. Her expression turned from scared and confused to sad.

If she doesnt talk, it makes the soquili annoyed and mad. If she did talk, it would make the soquili annoyed and mad. It was a lose-lose situation. She sighed and let her head hang low for second not quite sure what to do. Maybe a change of tone. "So....you wont hurt me?" came the sweet voice. Kind of like a young filly's but it had a pure ring to it. Singing was a talent.

At the look on her face he almost felt bad for treating her the way he treated everyone else. "No...I won't hurt you." He said fluttering closer to her face to look her straight in the eye. He did his best not to look intimidating but he had found that his eyes often made that difficult.

He had never encountered anyone that acted like this and he had met quite a few with extreme personality problems. One mare had attacked after only a few short moments of conversation. Another was completely silent unless told to do something. So many strange soquili out there and he was yet to meet a mare so timid. It was rather fascinating.

[[=rubs eyes to not repeat mistake=]]
Amatsila finally saw what he really looked like. He had a rather fasinating pendant on his chest. Him floating closer almost made her jump back, but she dug her hooves into the dirt trying to not be frightened. "Your--your wings, I--I can barely see them..." His wings were fluttering so fast that she could not seem to catch them, or was this just her eyes. They were almost as fast as a humming birds, from what she sees. All she could make out were the glowing dots. Which really had her hypnotised. Feeling a bit dixxy, she broke her stare and looked at him, his tiny eyes staring into hers. They seem blank or rather scarey, once again Amatsila dug her hooves into the earthy soil. "I'm--I'm sorry....for--for being ru-rude." Stumbling in her words, sounding as if she had just stepped out of a cold icy pool. The mare looked closer and sniffed him, but brought her head back to breathe out knowing he was too tiny even for the slightest breeze. "Uh..uh....you smell ni-nice." Smiling friendly, trying to somehow make these silences go away. The silence with the wind howling against the trees, this did not make her comfortable. Creepy.

Glad that she was with another soquili, and one that wasnt so frightening on the outside. She kept her breathing limited, trying to face away from him to breathe, Amatsila would hate to have someone mad at her. The silence crepted in, she had nothing else to say, just watching him. This was something very new to her, soquilis so small, it must've been hard to spot them anytime of the day. If Amatsila was a flutter, she would be doomed in the big world.

As she turned away he glanced over his shoulder at his quickly moving wings. He had never seen how quickly they moved before, it was rather surprising actually. He had known that they moved fast, it was necessary to keep him aloft, but they really couldn't be seen. It was just a blur with bright dots. "Do not worry about it." He said in response to her apology. It was nice to know that she was at least worried about her manners a good portion of the creatures he met were not concerned about them.

As she leaned forward again his ears went back. She did not sneeze on him or blow him backwards which was a relief he had to admit. That did not change the fact that she had just smelled him. "Don't sniff me..." He said sounding rather annoyed. He was a horse like any other and while he could understand curiosity it didn't mean he liked being treated like some new kind of spring bloom.

As it went silent he continued to watch her not really minding the quiet that would trouble so many. She kept her head turned away from him but he did not think it was because he had offended her. Curious he flitted over so that he was right in front of her and looked her straight in the eye. "Why is it that you turned away?" He asked almost completely fascinated by her odd behavior.

The aqua mare, slightly glowing in the moonlight, pulled her head back as he appeared in her face. He warned her not to sniff him, but her curiosity got the better side of her. Amatsila fulped and her eyes bolted from side to side. Would it be rude to mention why she was turning away, about his size? The mare opened her mouth, but snapped it back closed as she had done before. More silence filled in the emptiness of their conversation. The truth was alwaysbetter than a lie. "I--I...dont me-mean to offend y-you but, y-you are rather sm--small and if I--I breathe to-too hard, it mi-might hurt y-you." Her sentences were a mess and stumbling a lot more she could control. At least she was speaking. The mare had already felt kind of proud. She smiled weakly at him, then turned away to breathe once more. It was awkward to see something shes never really seen. Makes her feel like a filly all over again. Discovering things all over the place. "Te-tell me m-more about fl-flutters." She did actually meant what she said, Amatsila did not like to lie. She couldn't lie even if she wanted to. The mare would simply sweat and stumble so much that it'd only make others more suspicious.

The moon passed by a few clouds and its beams reached them both inbetween all those leaves and branches. This slightly relieved Amatsila from the fear of darkness. She wanted to not be seen in daylight so she would have to come out at night, but then she'd be scared of the dark and monsters. What can she do? It was a tough life for such a sensitive shy mare. In the light, she could see him better, and he wasnt as small as she had imagined with his small dots and quick fluttering wings. Now, she could see how he had a dot on his forehead which was a bit too tiny to see it glowing in the dark. His tail, like he had mentioned before, Amatsila remembered very well, that he had a uni tail. She has never seen one but heard of them as well. Looked sort of like a big cat's tail, except the tip happen to be the same color as the rest of it. An upside down crown, or what it seemed to be, hung solidly around one of his front ankles. Then of course his butterfly pendant on the front and around his neck.

He raised a brow as she opened and closed her mouth like she had done a couple times before. Was he really that intimidating that she was scared to say what was on her mind? Perhaps he was. In some cases that was a good thing, though this was not one of those times. After a few moments she spoke and he suddenly understood.

"So that's it." He said chuckling softly. She was afraid of hurting him. It was sweet in a rather naive way. "You wouldn't be able to hurt me by just breathing." It was fact. Unless she was seriously trying to blow him out of the air she wouldn't be able to do any damage. He was well accustomed to being this size and was able to handle things like the small wind cause by another's breathing. If she were to sneeze again that would be a different story as sneezes were rather powerful.

"Flutters...well there is quite a lot really." He said thinking of the best way to summarize his race so that it would be easy enough to process. "We are like other horses in most ways, we still must sleep, drink and eat like other horses. Where we differ is each of us have wings like a butterflies that allow us to fly in our smaller sizes." He paused for a moment to let her take in this information as well as to give himself an opportunity to think if he missed anything. "Ah...yes, we can also change sizes. Would it perhaps be easier for you to speak if I was your size?"

Hearing that she could not hurt him by simply breathing. Amatsila turned her head and smiled. That was good to know. It wouldn't be nice to be able to blow someone out of a tree just because of simple breathing. The mare lifted her head a little and her ears erected to listen to what a flutter had to say about...flutters. Soaking in all the information, Amatsila nodded. "It's goo-good to know y-you eat and dr-drink like us...y-you dont prefer...bl-blood do y-you?" Looking down ashamed that her trust hasnt really landed on this one as of yet. It was too hard for a mare like her to simply trust since nothing is always perfectly safe. If they cant hurt you physically, they can still hurt you emotionally. Amatsila made sure that she will not put her trust in anyone that isnt worth it. However, mistakes can occur even when she least wanted it.

The mare's eyes nearly popped out when she heard they can change sizes. "Ch-change size?" another gulp was made down her throat. How big can he get? So big that he can smoosh her with one hoove. Amatsila placed a bit of fear in her eyes and took a step back. "Su-sure......." not so confidence about this decision but it was be very fascinating to see a size changing soquili. His abilities really entertained her, but at times also frightened her. Paranoid. She waited for him to change, at the same time in the back of her mind, she planned an escape route if she ever needed it. A cloud ran past the moon and the darkness gave her heart a jolt. His glowing spots and eyes still give her the goosebumps. Swinging her head from side to side, by the time she opened her eyes, the cloud had gone by and she could see him again.
