The sun was high in the sky and slowly filtered down through the canopy of the forest around him. The air was hot and sticky but every now and then a cool breeze would wind its way through brining with it the scent of distant blooming flowers.
Eyri smiled to himself, to him it was another perfect day. He sat quietly by himself away from the other males. It was a wonderful relaxing day, and though he had enjoyed following the hunting trails and bringing back news of where the prey could be found, he was glad to be back in the pridelands. He had been gone for far to long and it seemed like time had passed so swiftly and now stood still. Not that he minded, he could stay in this particular moment forever.

Mawu was going to visit her father Liza, to get more information out of him about her grandmother-also named Mawu. She had so many questions and wanted so many answers and it was bugging her... lots of things were actually... the leaving of her cousin Moray. It was a sad reality, but Moray left because she fell in love with another female, from another clan-she was too young... and the Female left. She sighed, her purple eyes looking at the ground as her black and yellow frame padded towards the males dens.
She lifted her head and caught sight of the pale lion, her eyes widening at bit. She chuckled. "Huh... napping are we? " She asked, though the tone of her voice was not threatening... but silly.

Eyri heard the small female voice and slowly opened his eyes into slits to glance around him. His expression didnt change from that of happy bliss as he closed his eyes again as he had glanced over the cub. Had it been a fill grown lioness he would have jumped to attention but with her he felt he had a bit of play.
His tail flicked lightly before he spoke making the grass rustle behind him. "That I am. Naps are lovely in the heat of the day." He opened one eye to look at her again, a small smile on his face as he chuckled. "Can I help you little one?" he asked her, not recalling seeing her around these parts before. Then again he had been gone for awhile.

She sat down and blinked slowly... he was so pale-sort of like the older lioness that had once been apart of the pride, that her cousin had taken a liking too. She sat with her chest puffed, her head held like the huntress she would one day be. "Oh, that is true." She said simply, her little tuft of fur upon her head, getting tossed out of her eyes. "I usually nap at this time-but I wanted to come see my father for a bit. Now that my siblings and I are old enough-he doesn't have to hang around all the time"
"My father is Liza." she said simply, looking around slowly. "He is big and yellow and stutters."

Eyri smirked softly as he watched the little one. She was already filling with pride, he could tell by the way she held herself. As long as she stuck to the teachings of the pride and respected those around her, he had no doubt that her Toh would be restored a bit more in this life ad that next she might come back with more color and renewed soul.
He knew he himself had a long long way to walk in that reguard, and what that thought in mind he gave a wind yawn and shook himself. His fluffy mane lightly tinted blue shaking around him. "Hmm Liza...." he said with a pondering expression. He hadnt been back long enough to know the names of all the males, though with he discription he wasnt sure if he recalled that particular lion.
Nap time was over. "Well, why dont we see if we cant find him eh?" he asked her as he slowly got up on his paws.

Mawu stood up and her little rump shook side to side in her happiness for such a lovely idea. She didn't have to wander around to find her father alone anymore-she could talk to Eyri and have company or a while-and perhaps her father would find a new companion too. This thought made her heart leap-making sure her father was happy in the pride his mother had intended him to be in...
"Yes, that is a wonderful idea..." She said with a grin, her eyes showing her apparent glee. "My father is usually around my Mom-but she sent him to spend a few days on his own-so he can have alone time... I think she sometimes get annoyed with how he caters to her every whim and whims she does not request-but when he comes back... she will be happy as ever." She said, looking left and right-trying to sight the little hollow she knew he preferred. "See, my Father was born from a past member of our pride-but she got lost and had him-raising him properly like the pride does-and then she died... but when he was alone-my mother found him and brought him home...
And then had me and my siblings."

"Ah well isnt that a lovely story." he said softly as he glanced around from side to side for any lion matching the discription the lioness had given him. "sounds like he has found happiness. Besides what is a better joy in life than being a father?" He smiled down at her and gave his made a shake as he yawned a little.
"Well doesnt appear he is here at the moment, in this area. You know his habbits better than most I would assume, so lead the way." he diped his head and put out his right leg in a sort of bow to the little lioness as he smiled.

She puffed out her chest and started to prance towards where her father usually kept to himself-stuttering to himself-being away from her mother for a bit. She glanced up at the lion, blinking for a moment. "I don't think everyone finds happiness-but it is given too them." She said with a smile. "My mother found him wandering alone and he was a slave somewhere-but she took him away and brought him here to live-where he belongs... thats what she says..."
She bound over to a fallen tree, a marker for where the males dens lay. She stood atop it. "My grandmother came from a pride like this-maybe even the same one... and I plan on making sure my mother and father never have to leave and to always protect them. " She said quirkily. "And I don't think my father is here... he is usually really close to the border so he can hear my mom calling."

Eyri listened to the little female as they walked and though the story of her parents was an unusual one for these parts but it seemed that her father was a loyal sort and that the female had taken pitty on him. Fresh blood in the pride, so he couldnt complain much. Besides if the lion had been a slave in another pride surely the conditions here where better. Raising children was better suited for males than hard labor or other things that could have happened to him.
He chuckled as he watched her and gave a small tilt of his head as she perched on the log. "Well now little one, where else do you think he might be? " He asked with a flick of his tail as his blue eyes slowly washed over the suroundings for any sign of her father as she had described to him.

Mawu stared around, her purple eyes squinted as she did so. Where would he be? She sat back on her haunches and ran her paws over her head for a moment in thought. "Uuuuhm." She wasn't sure... where the hell he would be. She stood up and jumped off the log, a stern look on her face. "He must be back with Mom... but that wouldn't make sense-we would have walked past him or something..." She paused and looked around.
"Or maybe's he is hunting? That might be it... though I dunno where he does that-or maybe he is with the other Parastar." She stopped. Though it was unbeknownst to her, Liza rarely interacted with the other males.

Eyri found it odd that he would be hunting and not leaving that to the more skilled females, however he knew that some that had been born outside the pride sometimes found it hard to let go of old habits. He shruged his shoulders softly and nodded his head. His blue bushy mane swayed as he did so and he chuckled softly. "well little one I am sure he is safe and sound. Perhaps he is just off having some alone time. Do you perhaps have any siblings?" he asked her, curious if maybe he was tending to them.
He looked down at her like a father, she seemed distressed that she couldnt find him and no doubt she would be worried as she had stated she was always the one that knew where he was. It seemed that they had a close bond. "I'm sure he is around somewhere..."

She gazed off into the distance. In her mind, the reels turned. Why wasn't her father where he was supposed to be? This annoyed her, and she dug her toes in one by one quickly, to the ground. She sighed. "He may be with my sisters and brother... But I Dunno... I guess I will have to go find him... or just give up." She stood up and shook her head slowly, her little eyes shut. She gazed up at him and had a sense that he was like her father-had spent some time outside the pride. Though that didn't bother her now-she would soon grow a deep respect for those from the pride. Someday, she would gain Toh and bring herself into a world of honor and importance.
She perked up and looked to him. "Oh I have no doubt he is around here... he wouldn't dare leave unless my mother told him otherwise.. he follows her so good..." She paused. "...Do you have a mistress here?"

"Ah, little one. Giving up when something is hard isnt always the answer. In fact it rarely is. I know if you really put your mind to it you could find him. However he may be some place you cannot go. So perhaps rather than giving up it would be best to just wait for awhile. Doubtless your father will return for some quality time. If he spends much time alone as you say I am sure seeing you would bring a smile to his face. "
He sat down and curled his tail around his paws, flicking the tip of his blue tail against the ground. "No I cant say that I have a mistress, many lioness' are busy with their own duties. I am sure that once I am deemed worthy enough that I might be considered for the role of Father. Your father is already lucky in that respect." he said and as he grinned at her.

She looked over her shoulder at him dryly, she had always been told to never give up. She sighed, her little black cheeks puffing out as she nodding her head in agreement. He was right. Her father would no doubt return to where he was always was and she would find him another time if not now. She looked over towards where she knew the females were located and decided she'd head back there then. "You are right... Father is most likely going to come back and I will find him then."
She smiled over at him for a moment. "Thank you for spending some with me though... I am sure someday a mistress will come and chose you. I am sure of it..." She said, padding over to him and giving him a good rub on his front legs. She then dashed off. "I should find my mommy!" She called over her shoulder. "I'll see you later!"
