Balgen had been galloping about. He was always sure to get in his exercise to make sure his build was trimmed and lean. He wanted to be as muscular as possible. He always felt so consumed and driven to impress the ladies. He just wanted a really pretty filly to think he was something special. Of course, deep down, he had yet to start to feel his own personal worth. He belonged to a herd where almost everyone else had unspeakable beauty. He couldn't see his own.
Then, he caught sight of one of those. He was of course glaring at an angeni. He despised them. What lucky little shits they were! Balgen was quite sure none of those guys ever had to work to impress anyone. They had the females just fawning over them all the time. What lucky ducks... It was so ridiculous!! He stomped his foot a few times. Geez... these blokes just burned him up inside. It just wasn't fair. Why couldn't he be born with wings.. or a horn.. or something that girls liked.

The Angeni in question was Auster. And to be honest, he could care less what the 'girls' liked. Mares were such annoying creatures, always twittering about and cooing and just in general getting in his way. He would much prefer if they left him alone. Too bad he was such a splendid creature, they would never do that.
Grazing in the meadow, he looked up, frowning at the sight of the other stallion. Oh, how bothersome. A ground stallion. A dirt colored ground stallion. Rolling his icy eyes, he turned back to his meal, great wings folded neatly on his back.

Balgen caught sight of that eye rolling. Wasn't that just the way with these types??? They were always so superior and condescending. He was so not just gonna walk away with his tail between his legs like some broken little foal. Oh no.. Not today... Too bad his lovely friend, Juliet wasn't here to behold his awesome display of what he was about to do.
He walked slowly up till he was only a few feet away from this celestially winged beast. A beast.. yeah ... that's right... Balgen grew a sneer. "Man... I bet you think you're winter's first snow with those wings there huh?"
He tucked his head away.

Auster lifted his head slowly to look at Balgen as he was addressed. The accusatory tone the horse took and the sneer on his face, coupled with the idiocy of his words amused the angeni.
"Excuse me?" he said, his voice low and rumbling as he looked down his nose at the ground stallion. "Did you just open your mouth and spew utter nonsense?"

Balgen slid one of his front hooves into the dirt a bit deftly. A "psshhh" rolled between his lips. He looked up at Auster.
"Oh come on. If you've seen it once, you've seen it a million times. It's like.. Everytime one of these big angeni's walk into the square or a gathering. Immediately, none of the girls wanna talk to us normal guys. Everyone is all over there oogling and getting all freakin gooey for those guys. All the girls like them.. and they don't even have to do a damn thing."
There it was. Balgen's ever slowly growing grudge for angeni's had finally been set to words. He had actually mouthed them instead of grumbling them silently inside his mind. He was always complaining to himself about it. He felt especially entitled now that he had hte opportunity to tell one of them. Lucky bastards...
