The sun's radiant glow had just barely touched the Earth's surface, but the white stallion was already awake and had made his way to a nearby stream. Slender neck was bent downward so that his muzzle just dipped into the cool water, pink-tipped white mane toppling downward over his neck and partly covering his eyes. On top of his head, a large lotus in full bloom sat, secured in place by decorative gold chains that connected to his ears.
Straightening up, Arathorn surveyed his surroundings. His pose was graceful, almost like that of an alert deer. Gentle sounds of the forest coming to life made him smile, but Arathorn's ears hadn't heard the sounds of hooves yet this morning. Understandable, after all it was extremely early. Perhaps when the world woke up in a few hours, he would see new faces. Maybe even today, he would get to have an adventure.

She blinked gingerly as the sun's rays flitted through the trees and fell upon her face. She had rested well, spending the night not far from a stream that lulled her to sleep with babbling water. Misaki stretched out her legs and neck before making her way to her feet. She shook, a few leaves and twigs falling from her coat and cloak. Her tongue ran across her lips as she looked around, she needed a drink.

Slowly she made her way from her covering in the treeline, headed toward the stream that she had slept near the night before. As she made her way closer, she saw a stallion standing there. He had been looking the other direction, Misaki took a moment to stand still and gaze over him. She smiled as she noted the lotus that adorned his mane and head, surely he was a kindred?

Not wanting to be rude or startle the stallion, Misaki let out a soft nicker in greetings. She never seemed to think that she'd ever meet someone that would cause harm, one day, this could cause trouble. But, for now, Misaki was happy with treating all soquili as if she were already their friend.

White ears perked up, gold chain and hoops glittering in the light, at the soft hello. One ear turned to face toward the mare before the stallion's body followed. Hidden behind white bangs, blue eyes widened momentarily at the stunning beauty that stood before him.
Her coat was as blue as the stream that they stood next to, large lotus blossoms patterned her body and a beautiful red cloak wrapped elegantly around her body. Black mane fitted perfectly, toppling down over her shoulders and Arathorn noted the unicorn features immediately.
The white stallion got over the initial shock, hoping it hadn't showed. Taking a few steps toward her, he lowered himself in a graceful bow. " Good morning m'lady. How is such a beautiful flower this morning? " Arathorn's mother had taught him how to treat others, especially mares and he had also learned every good manner in the book. Standing up straight, he smiled softly at her and introduced himself. " My name is Arathorn. May I ask m'lady hers?"

Her green eyes glistened in the morning light, she blinked and smiled softly as the stallion greeted her. She was use to greetings, but not so much to compliments. She stifled a nervous laugh as he spoke. "Good morning, to you as well, Arathorn." she lowered her head momentarily, then returned her eyes to his gaze. "My name is Misaki," she offered, her tail slowly moving back and forth and a strand of hair falling briskly across her face. "I've come for a drink, I hope I haven't interrupted you?" Misaki would have no problem going further down stream if she had intruded on a private matter. She knew some soquili were fond of company. Briefly, her eyes left his gaze to look over his body. He had brilliant colors, the golds and pinks stood out against his white coat. His eyes...his eyes were mesmerizing. She blinked as she again met his gaze, she was intrigued by the swirls that surrounded his shining blue orbs.

Arathorn gave a friendly smile, shaking his head to her question. " Of course not. I would not object to a bit of company this morning, I'd rather enjoy it actually." It had been a few days since the stallion had any company other then his mother, and he was beginning to find it rather lonesome. Arathorn began to wonder what kind of personality this mare had. So far she seemed to be calm, and gentle. Her apperance matched this thought, and he added beautiful to the equation. But of course, the stallion was not stubborn and he knew that to never judge a book by its cover.
Arathorn's ears perked again as she spoke her name. " Misaki...." He allowed the name to roll of his tongue while staring at her for a moment, seeming to concentrate on something. " It means...beautiful bloom, does it not? And if it does, you are very appropriately named." After saying thing, a part of him wished he hadn't. The white stallion was merely complimenting the mare but now he was starting to feel like he was rambling out a bunch of cheap, cheesy pick-up lines. " Perhaps, when the sun rises abit more into the sky, you would be interested in joining me for a walk? I know some beautiful trails around this part." Again, Arathorn cursed himself. He hoped that she wouldn't be thinking the same things as he was, and think he was some stuck-up, 'go-for-the-girl' soquili.

If her cheeks could have shown it, she was blushing. She had never run into a stallion that complimented her in such ways. She smiled as he mentioned the definition of her name, "You're correct," her head bobbed. "And, thank you." Her voice was soft, so was her smile.

Misaki didn't judge others upon first meeting, she had learned over the years that first impressions were always correct. At any rate, she did not think that this stallion was just 'out to get her'. Her ears perked and her head lifted a bit when Arathorn said that he would enjoy the company. It had been days since Misaki had been able to travel with another, she had found it lonely. Before she had left on this journey, she had almost always had someone to converse with, she enjoyed learning of others and soaking in any knowledge they cared to share with her.

"I'd be delighted to take a walk with you," she replied before looking down to the stream quickly. She rarely found herself nervous, but for some reason, this stallion made her quiver a bit. She watched as the water flowed by, reminding her that she had come for a drink. She lowered her head, taking a few sips, hopeing that this would camoflauge her reaction to the stallions gestures.

The stallion mentally sighed in relief. His insecure thoughts of him sounding like a jock had been wrong, and she still wanted to go for a walk with him.
Arathorn smiled and looked around as he thought of which path to take her on; there were so many. He agreed with himself when he decided that a looped path to a large pond would be perfect, it featured many homes for small critters and a breathtaking waterfall. " I've picked the perfect path, I know you'll enjoy it very much." He didn't want to tell her what was on that path, so he could surprise her with the scenery.
His ears perked, and he tilted his head sideways slightly causing the piece of mane to fall sideways and reveal his whole face. Arathorn had noticed the mare glance down the stream quickly. " Is everything alright, Misaki?" He asked gently, wondering if Misaki was nervous about something or if she sensed something was wrong.

Her ears pivoted and pointed towards him as he spoke, she lifted her head from the steam, a few small drops of water falling from her lips quickly.

"Everything is quite fine," she smiled and offered a soft laugh, "I had just almost forgotten that I had come for a drink."

She wouldn't dare tell him that it was he that had caused her to almost forget. She hardly ever found herself nervous, but for some reason, this stallion seemed to make her a bit shy.

Her head lifted and she looked around, seeing several paths leading in different directions, she was curious as to which they would be traveling down. "The perfect path?" she smiled, wondering what made it 'perfect'.

Out of the decisions ahead, Arathorn picked one that was covered by trees that bowed high over the path. It created a enchanting arch over the path, sunlight dappling through the leafy tops. As the white stallion started toward a path, he looked back at Misaki through pink-tipped bangs and made a 'come on' gesture with his head.

Arathorn sighed contently, the broken sunlight keeping his body warm and he looked up. Blue eyes seemed to train on something, an eagle cried out and he smiled for a moment before he brought up the feared soquili types. " Skinwalkers are showing up in more and more different forms. Wolf or coyote are old news. Word of mouth says those creatures now come in forms of eagles or even bears." The stallion suddenly felt bad for bringing up such a bad topic on a beautiful walk. In an attempt to right the situation, Arathorn suddenly reached down and pulled up a mouthful of wild flowers and offered them to her.

She smiled, her lips curled up softly at the side of her jaw. Her eyes shifted as she glanced up to see what he was looking at. An eagle over head.

"Times are definately different now..." she continued to watch as the eagle moved on. "It's definately a terrifying thing to know that those creatures could be anywhere now..." She took a deep breath and turned her gaze back to Arathorn.

"Shall we be off?" she took a few steps towards him, she was ready to enjoy a walk with her new friend. She stopped just short of him as he reached down and pulled up flowers, offering them to her. Misaki let out a soft, almost childish giggle. She took the flowers gently and nodded, "Thank you," she mumbled with the flowers in her mouth.

Arathorn couldn't help but smile at the giggle and the smile seemed to widen when she took the flowers. The white stallion looked down the path for a moment, double checking to make sure it was the right one. When he was fully confident Arathorn started walking, his posture making him look like a prince. His white neck was gracefully arched, sun glittering off the gold chains that attached themselves to his lotus crown, and each step he took was cautious yet confident.

As they walked side by side, he glanced over to her. The broken sunlight made her even more beautiful, and he went back to looking down the path ahead as the stallion felt his face flush. So, Misaki. Do you live in these parts? Or just traveling around the lands to get aquainted with others? Arathorn attempted to make conversation, to break the silence even though it wasn't an awkward one.

"I once lived here...in the area, I think." Her eyes looked over the surroundings, it seemed familiar, but she couldn't be sure by any means. "I've only recently returned...I'm looking for someone." she nodded. Perhaps Arathorn had seen her? She glanced over at him while she walked at a steady pace, "My sister, actually. Perhaps you've seen her around?....She's got brilliant reddish orange coloring....Lotuses like me...she's not a unicorn though." that would be a story for another day, it was odd how different yet so alike the sisters had been born.

"What of yourself? Is this your home?"

The stallion nodded softly, his eyebrows knitting as he tried to recall a soquili in the description she had given him. After a few minutes of thought, Arathorn had to shake his head. " No, I'm sorry, but I don't think I've seen your sister." He didn't bother asking about why the sister's coloring seemed so different; after all, his own sister looked nothing near like himself. He was crisp white, with orange and purple. She was blue, and identical to their father.
" As for myself, I've been in this area for a short time but long enough to get acquainted with it. Of course I still find surprise trails and areas." He chuckled softly, ducking his head to avoid a branch stuck out over the trail. " I'm still just a wanderer though. Like you, I'm also looking for someone. Though, probably not as hard. I've been looking for my mother, but I know she's around close by. She wouldn't just completely up and disappear on me. My father didn't know that myself and my sister were his, though my mother had told him...maybe it wasn't straight forward enough." He paused for a moment before shaking his head with a soft laugh. " Anyway, we won't go into detail over it. It's to complicated. But my dad got upset and stormed off. Mother didn't go after him, but she was sorely hurt by it and went off to be by herself for a bit. I'm an adult now, so it's alright and I understand. I know when she's ready to be found, she'll come back. Oh! And my mother, she's all white with pink markings all over her body. She's a wind, and her most unique feature is the flurry of cherry blossoms that follow her where ever she goes. That reason alone is what makes her so hard to miss when someone she's her." He laughed again, before sighing softly. He missed his mother so much.
