The General is skillful in attack whose opponent does not know what to defend... So, I was thumbing through my Latin book today.
And came across a map.
And what I saw.
Was.
Ertruria.
And. Gallia.
Ertruria was a large state in Italy during the Roman Empire,
And Gallia, is basically what is now France.
And, if any of you remember the Crimean war topic, talknig about Crimea as a real place, I assigned the countries real-world counterparts.
I was mostly wrong
But I DID assign Gallia as France.
And I was correct!
In your face, Beowolf. ...and he is skillful in defense whose opponent does not know where to attack. -Sun Tzu.

Interesting, but not all that surprising. There was also a Lycia somewhere around what's now Turkey.

Hoch_Anrufer The General is skillful in attack whose opponent does not know what to defend... Bern is the capital of Switzerland. ...and he is skillful in defense whose opponent does not know where to attack. -Sun Tzu. I thought I read something in Rainbow 6... Oh, well. I read it a while ago. Don't make me get even more defensive.

Lycia is a city in Turkey but also refers to the Greek God Apollo or something. Crimea is somewhere in Russia. I recall the Czar and his family had a summer home there. Etruria is a region in Italy. Sacae is a romanization of Sakas which was a nomadic tribe in... I wanna say Turkey? [/LAWL, read an AP World text book yesterday like a LOSER]

Most, if not all, FE classes are based off European things.

The General is skillful in attack whose opponent does not know what to defend... 'Cause, if you're Japanese, Japanese things get old after awhile.
I mean, you have Anime to obliterate Japanese mythology and corrupt the minds of our youth.
Might as well go for some European stuff. ...and he is skillful in defense whose opponent does not know where to attack. -Sun Tzu.

Fire Emblem is sort of based off of medieval Europe, so it would make sense for some Fire Emblem locales to be named after European/Russian locales.

So did they get Goldoa from anywhere? And were the capitals real places, or did they make up the names?
