Thunder rumbled in the distance, the sign of an off-season storm. Many animals hid away, seeking to find shelter before it hit. It was a relief from the heat, but it was also a danger any animal could recognize.
Taichi ignored it, for the most part, as he climbed up a slight incline in the land. There were rocks here and there, loose and a danger in and of themselves, but he placed his paws as carefully as he could. As he reached a cave, the heavens opened up, soaking his fur instantly.

She lay in the open, the feeling of the air told her it would soon rain, turning the ground to dirt and mud, mud which she could wallow in and enjoy. She had always been at heart a swamp lioness, she missed the dirty must and the scent of the air at the swamps. She had long ago left though and now she lived here, where it was dry.
Her heart was far from her today though, hasani had vanished, he had upped and left her and she was saddened by his dissapearance, her gaze fixed upon the cloudy sky as she tried to wipe away the thought, hoping the rain would wash away her sadness. She never thought he would jus leave, but he had and her heart was broken in to a thousand tiny peices.

Tai would have ignored the rain, the mud, had it not been for the fact he was trying to go uphill. One bad step, and he found himself sliding down with the mud, soon resting at the bottom of the slope. The male let out a growl, getting up. If he couldn't climb a hill... How could he find what he was seeking?
Getting up, he shook the mud from his coat, beginning to walk. He'd find another way up, one that wasn't quite so hard. As the rain pounded down, washing the mud off of him, he noticed a shadowy shape in the distance. He could tell it wasn't the lion he was seeking, but it was still something. Picking up his pace, he hurried to see what it was, or who it was.

Lifting her head, the ruby eyed female watched in deep silence as the male approached. It certainly wasn't hasani. She sighed heavily, she was so dissapointed in herself, she had relied so much on this male and he had vanished from her life in a puff of dark coloured smoke.
Closing her eyes she allowed the rain to trickle down her face, hiding any tears that may have been shed.

As he got closer, Tai got a sense of... Sadness? He hadn't gotten this sort of feeling around many lions. Mostly, he'd noticed it about Grannie, and maybe his grandmother. And here was this lioness he'd never met before... She even looked sad, only made worse by the rain. As he stepped closer, his paws squished into the mud. "Hey... You alright...?" He ignored the water dripping from his hair, his body, even the feather dangling from his ear.

Kinamasi lowered her gaze, her bright, ruby red eyes fixed upon the young male before her. She let out a long slow sigh. "yes, the rain is washing it away." She whispers, her voice, for a moment almost like her mothers, she never spoke quietly, always outgoing and rambuncious, but now her heart had fled her and for this moment she was lot, alone and sad.

He frowned, sitting in the mud. "Washing what away...?" He tilted his head, ears flicking to the sides. No heed was paid to the feather slapping his side, nor how his mane clung to his face. In his short time of life, he'd been curious about very few things. This lioness was one of those very few things.

Looking at the young male she sighed heavily. "I'm not really sure, but the rain is helping it." she smiles closing her ruby red eyes once again.
"My name is Kinamasi, and who are you my friend?" She sighs opening her sad red eyes once again. This feeling would go away, she just knew the rain could take it with it, she hoped.

Looking up at the sky, Tai could only wonder how the rain helped. He frowned just a bit, then shrugged. To each their own... But the way it made everything sing with the sound of the patter... It reminded him of Haki. In fact... So did this lioness.
He blinked, ears flicking forward to her question. "Me? I'm Taichi." He looked back in the general direction of the Pridelands. "I grew up in this area... Sort of... My family lives further north, really." He paused, shaking some water and last bits of mud off his body.

She looked up at the young male and smiled serenely, her deep ruby red eyes smiling. "I came here to visit my parents and now my cubs are grown and gone and my mate has fled with them. I suppose my paws shall take me some where new now, I do not know where but some where, any wheer will do."
She sighs heavily, theer,s he had voiced it, the world was once again her oyster, she would not sit here and moap forever, she eneded to get back out in to the world again.

As he listened, Tai couldn't help but frown. They'd just... Abandoned her? That didn't seem right to him. Going over, he nudged her. "Come on, you should have company. There's a cave near here... It's dry, I think, and sheltered from the rain..." He looked up, back towards where it was. There had to be firm footing in that area, at least...

She looked up at the male and tilted her head her beautiful blood red eyes full of sorrow. She gave a little nod and clambered to her paws limping forwards she sighs , taking a couple of laboured steps, she felt stiff,t he rain always played on ehr foreleg.
She had been born with a twisted foot, her left foreleg unable to carry ehr whole weight she had always limped. "lead the way." She whispers her ears flattening against ehr head.

The limp was picked up very quickly. Tai had grown up knowing his great grandmother, or Grannie as he'd called her. It was his way to distinguish between his mother's mother and his father's father's mother. The dark lioness also walked with a limp, a very profound one because of various injuries to her legs. Of course, she also wasn't of sound mind... Offering his weight, Tai led the way to the cave. "Here, lean on me... You look like you need it."

Kikawaida smiled, she wasn't usually one to accept help, but this young male was being so friendly, so kindly to her she couldn't help but lean on him slightly.
She followed him tot he cave, shaking her fur as she stepped inside before padding towards the dark recess at the back to laydown and relax. "Thankyou, for your help." She whispers, her deep red eyes smiling at him, at least for the moment, it was nice to find a soul willing to help a stranger and she appreciated him for that.

Tai could only nod, shaking off and finding a spot. He couldn't help but BE nice. His mother had raised him to be such, his aunt had been too sweet to not have an effect, his grandmother was always there... And Grannie would have been disapproving if he'd been a bad boy. Settling down, he listened to the rain, being slowly sung to sleep by it.
