She lay in the long grass of the Valley her mind a million miles away. She was thinking of Gobo, mainly because her abdomen was beggining to swell and she felt more tired. She had known she would have his children, even though she had never born a baby before, she was no fool, she kenw the facts of life and she was glad of it.
Soon she would give birth to a fawn or two and the little sweethearts would fill her herd with joy and new life. She knew she would look upon them and see gobo, remember the wonderful times beside him and be thankful that he had left a little part of himself with her.

He landed quietly, his small hooves lifting only a little dust before his back paws joined them. He visited his herd on a daily basis, it was small and humble at the moment but the most beautiful place in the world to him.Lifting his nose, he caught the scent of his favourite herd beast, Zebadie. She had quickly taken up the mantle of leader of the herd and he couldn't have liked that more. She was more than capable of lookign after the place when he had to go home to his family.
trotting throught he long grass he soon came upon the zebra stripped female. he lowered his head to nuzzle her and puurred happily. "Anything new Zebadie?" he whispers, his deep doe like brown eyes dancing happily.

Zebadie smiled, lifting her head as palahala approached nuzzling her god in a very friendly manner. Maybe some would find this innapropriate, but Palahala was like her first child. Together they would make this herd great.
"Well I have a little news for you Palahala, I am going to give birth to some fawns in a couple of weeks." She smiles proudly lifting her golden eyes to gaze at the little goddling. "I don't know how many yet but we'll be seeing some little fawns about."

Palahala tilted his head, his lips turning in to a broad grin "Really?" he puffs out his chest, his dark eyes dancing. "Our first fawns. oh Zebadie! I am so happy, the first babies brn in to our haven!"
He went silent for a moment and lay down befoere zebadie, happy to lay near his closest friend. "Where will they come from Zebadie? Mother hasn't told me where babies come from yet."

Zebadie laughed airily looking over the youngster. She often forgot how young he was. Allt he power he held to protect them, all the love he had for each and every one of them yet he was still nieve, still a cub.
"Well Palahala if you look at my belly, you will see where they are. they are growing inside of me. They are mine and Gobo's children.Children of this valley, the first of many."

Shuffling towards zebadie he looked at her swollen abdomen. The babies were growing in there? He beamed, his little chocolatebrown eyes full of life. he couldn't bbeleive his herd was going to have new life in it. he appreciated every beast in this herd, the new and old alike and to see fresh faces born in his herd made his heart flutter inside.
"I think, I shall bless them!" he wriggled his fluffy tail then and lowered his nose pressing his lips to her belly ever so gently as he kissed her swollen stomach.

She felt a surge of something strange rush up through her body as palahala touched her womb. She felt relaxed, far calmer than she had a few moments before. What ever palahala had done made her feel just wonderful all over and knowing her fawns had been blessed by a god made her heart all the lighter.
"Thankyou Palahala, I know they will be safe here." She smiles nuzzling the little god happily.

The young god smiled and curled himself around Zebadie. "I know Gobo loved you and he would be here if he could, but until he comes back I promise I will protect your babies. I'll make sure they grow up strong and carefree, never having to worry about a predator. I promise"
He gives a gentle nod then laying his chin to the ground, his gaze on her pregnant belly still. He was so proud of Zebadie, so very proud of what she was doing for his herd. She was completeing it by starting new lives.

Zebadie sighed happily, looking up to the skies. "yes, I know that he is thinking of me as I am thinking of him. He knew that we would have children and that i would bring them to this haven, keep them safe and one day he will come back to me. i know it." She smiles touching her nose to palahalas.
"We both have commitments and mine lies here, this is my home and I wish to see it flourish."

Palahala nodded lightly looking up at Zebadie from his relaxed possition. "I know Zebadie and the say he wishes to return I will be sure to bring him here on winged paws." He flickers his tail and wriggles.
"I gave him a hair from my tail before he left and told him should he need me just to call. he cared about you so much Zebadie. I could see it in his eyes."

Zebadie let a little gebntle laugh roll over her lips "And i loved him too Palahala, we will be together again one day." She rested her chin to the ground then, her soft, golden gaze full of the joys of the moment.
She was aprted from Gobo but they were together in spirit and soon a little part of him would once again wander near her.

Palahala closed his big doe eyes, a smile wide upon his youthful maw. he wasn't really sure what his blessing would bring, buthe hoped it would make Zebadie more comfortable suring her pregnancy and that the fawns would all be born healthy and happy. That was his only wish.
