it was early morning and Zeda made her way out of her little opening for the first time, she breathed in the cold morning air and shook her head to get the sleep out of her eyes and also to loosen the mane that was stuck to her head with laying on it all night.

She thought it may be a good idea to go for a walk i mean it was a bit frosty and cold, but she loved this weather, winter was her favorite month. She just wished that it would snow soon that would be so great.

She made her way down a passageway tree's surrounded both sides of the road and flowers which used to line the ground had frost covering them like a blanket. All the little animals were in sleeping, they had the right idea she just realized how insane it was to be up at this time. Then again at least in hope no one else would be here to bother her. Going out when the sun was up was too troublesome now that she had her own little herd of stalkers and sheep.

Raniero was accustomed to early mornings. Raised by his parents, his father had always deemed it important to study in the morning and then conduct business during the day. Admittedly, it left very little time to sleep but Raniero had long since adapted to quick powernaps and thrived on the pressure. To say he took pride in both his intelligence and his stamina was an understatement. He had met very few creatures capable of enduring the pressures he did, in fact he had met none and as a result, had developed a rather firm sense of self belief.

For this reason, it was unsurprising that Raniero was almost identical to his father in mindset. Having mastered the art of a false expression, he was capable of looking as though he assumed one thing...when really he meant something entirely different. This was something he had learnt quickly, using every opportunity to practice upon an encounter with soquili here and there. They had remained unaware of his true intentions or beliefs and thus...he viewed them with very little regard. He was of no doubt that today would be similar. His pursuit of knowledge would continue and he suspected that there would be minor interruptions. However, to assume there would be any of 'note' would be incorrect - every soquili that got in his way simply provided him with a headache!

An idle sigh escaped from his lips as he thrust his way from the forest, distancing himself from the trees as he made his way towards the stream that lay nearby. Ah, there was nothing like the touch of the ice cold wind on one's nose first thing in the morning. It sent a shiver down his spine but made him alert and prepared - now he knew why his father embraced the colder seasons with such ease...

Zeda continued on her treck through the forest, the sun at this time was just peaking far off in the horizzon, she made her way upwards thhe path curling around the side of the hill, they where many tracks in the path left by horses that had been here before her, she trotted along at her usual quickish pase, she hated people walking slow it always seemed to annoy her, if you want to get there why not get there quickly?

She weaved through the tree's which surrounded the area, there was no definate path now, just a cluttered bunch of tree's and bushes which if you kept going through you would soon come to the deep part of the forrest, she never really went there it was really dark and kalona where said to be there, she was however curious to what those creatures would look like, she had nly met others like herself, one wind and a usida.

She didn't really like keeping company she would put up with someone who was following her and she did not mind to talk to people, however she would not really go out of her way to be with someone, if they wanted her then they could come and find her, thats what she thought about it. She spent most of her time reflecting her own thoughts she had realized that being friends with people just added complacations to your lives, complecations she could do without.

Coming near the stream she saw another, a male mostly black but with some blue on him, he seemed to match the enviroment quite well. Blue was one of her favorite colors having such a bright father made her like pastels quite a lot, she was happy that she was not too over decorated like she thought he was. Giving the male a wuick look she jumped to the other side of the stream, putting her snout in to take a drink.

He was the perfect mix of his parents. Inheriting his father's blue coat and his mother's panda-esque markings, he had turned into a rather notable creature. Granted, he lacked the pretty 'jewels' his father was known for, nor could he play music on these pretty pieces but that was trivial. In time he would be granted with such pieces, his father had confirmed that when he came of age he would grant him gifts. Admittedly, Raniero wasn't entirely certain of what these gifts might be but alas...

He never questioned his father.

That in mind he continued to sip at the water, snorting every now and again as the water spattered against his muzzle and disrupted his drink. Eh, there were most definitely moments when he did not approve of the behaviour of nature. His father insisted on manners and yet nature seemed to lack all manner of etiquette. Water spat at him, branches cut him - Raniero was without a doubt wary of the spirits that seemed to dislike him...and he disliked them on an equal level.

Nevertheless, it was not the lack of manners from the spirits that disrupted his drink today. A sudden flicker of movement caught the corner of his amber eyes and he narrowed them. Shifting his weight ever so slightly, he inconsicuously fixed his gaze on the mare that had begun to drink. It had been her abrupt movements and the sudden entry of her muzzle into the water that had caused the stream to spit at him.

How rude.

It was with this that he lifted his head, raising a brow at the behaviour of the mare who had albeit shattered his personal space without due respect. "It is customary to ask if another is adverse to your company before interrupting them," he stated coolly.

"its also a custom to not talk to strangers, and dont worry i wouldnt want your company, thus i dont ask for it." she stated as her eyes raised to met his.

'Oh... is this dude related to Seraphia, whenever i am near water i seem to get told off for something.'

she thought her mind going back to the blond mare that she had met only a little while ago, she was a stuck up mare who always thought she was right, above that she was gods gift to the world, as pretty as a princess but had the personality of a wet cloth.

She raised her head to look at him he was taller than her, about the same size as Heha, she hadnt seen him in a while he must have set off on his jouney but no doubt he would be back to bother her again, he never left for good even though he threatened it once, she wished he would though...

"And what was i interupting anyways your blank look into space? you didnt seem to be doing much of anything."

She sighed and shook her head, it seemed like the only person who had shown her even a little bit of polite nature was Forte she might be a little Usida but she did not blag head as much as the taller creatures, they where all either, stalkers, over hyperactive talkers or stuck up nobles all of which Zeda found to be very annoying, she remembered the good old days when everyone got on with there lived, but since she had grown from a foal more people seemed to interact with her, it might be now she was older she was more of a threat or maybe people care more for others their own age, after all when you are young what does it mater what happens to you.

Clearly not a lot her mother ran away leaving her father broken, both of them were selfish it didnt seem like either of them cared about her or her sister. In return her sister had the nerve to blame Zeda for everything, GAH! families who needs them...

Ah, well this was easy to sort out and it was with the faintest of smiles that the stallion had the nerve to dismiss everything she had said. Handled skillfully, it appeared that he had done nothing more than let her words drift through one ear and out the other. Totally unphased by her lack of manners, he shifted his weight once more to inspect her more closely before providing her with a very loose shrug. It was her decision to become angered and disgruntled at his observation - it was through her own failings and incompetance that she lost her composure so easily.

"Well then," his smile grew a little more, sickeningly pleasant though it didn't reach his eyes and he dipped his head in a slight bow. "Suit yourself," he finished, flicking his tail against his flank as he turned his back to the mare. His face now unseen, his expression became more of a smirk than a pleasant smile and he began to saunter away from the mare. He had known from the moment he woke up that there would be disruptions...all his disruptions were like this. They were boring, predictable and easily dealt with. These creatures lost their composure so swiftly and easily that he found it pitiful.

They just had no strength!

The slightest of words could set them off, one look and they would snap. There was no doubt in his mind that they would make lousy troops in an army. The slightest torture and suggestion would break them, a skilled interrogator would have them begging for mercy. Admittedly he found the prospect of torturing a few to be desirable - a chance to teach them manners...but the rest were without a doubt, a waste of his time. Generally speaking, everything in the Kawani was a waste of time with the exception of his parents and his albeit idle brother.

Rolling his shoulders again, he sauntered idly towards another point in the stream and glanced briefly at his reflection. While his mane was somewhat messy he was sure he could locate a squirrel to adjust it later on in the day. That being said, he had few complaints about his immediate appearance, for all intents and purposes it appeared he had slept rather well to avoid too many mishaps this morning.

"Not bad," he mused to no one other than himself.

Zeda stared blankly at him a little offended that he was stood there admiring his own reflection, he had just made a comment about her being rude but now he was being the rude one, you would asume that someone like him would at least show a little respect, even if it was to try and teach her a lesson but he seemed to be a little too bratish for that.

'wanna jump in, wanna jump in, wanna jump in, wanna jump in sooooo bad...'

She thought to herself, she was feeling very childish herself all of a sudden, which was odd but when she did get this way it usually meant that she was up to some kind of mistcheif or annoying tacktick, she usually used moods like this against her sister though she had never really tried one on with another person.

It might not be the smartest thing to do, saying he was a big stallion who could probably eat her if he wanted too, but men where all just muscle and she doubted he would be able to keep up with her, even if he did he seemed like one of those people who would turn around and say ' sorry i will not hit a girl' sexist pigs! just excuses because men know that women can give them a good knock back, and what is more embarassing than getting beaten up by a girl?

She eyed the water as she took a deep breathe in a small twitchy smile came onto the side of her face which soon grew into a smirk her eyes widened as she porked the ground with one hoof, like a bull with its eyes set on the red towel. She kicked her back legs and closed her eyes, going into the air before landing in the middle of the stream, going to a skid as she did, a whole lot of mud and water showiering herself and the stallion.

She smirked dirty water dripping from her mane as she gave a triumphant chuckle only a short quite one saying that she did not really laugh, she then turned around her tail wagging before she kicked back a rock at him before trotting out of the water, she turned her head over her shoulder her hair stuck flat to her face. "admire that pretty boy." she said in a calm voice as she batted her eye lashes a bit, waiting for his reaction and preparing to run, she trotted forward a bit her tail flicking side to side and her nose up in the air before trotting on the spot a little.

'take that...'

Raniero was aware of how to be polite and how to carry himself in public. However, it was at times like this and around people like this mare that he found little desire to accomodate anyone. Thus, his 'brattish' behaviour was merely a response to her poor personality. It wasn't his problem that she lacked the social graces to be of any interest to him - if she had more quirks he suspected he may have at least tried to endure her company for a little longer than he already had. Unfortunately she possessed neither breathtaking beauty or any form of skill, all she had to her name was a foul expression and poor temperment.

Such assumptions were confirmed as the mare made her move. Plunging her form into the stream and sending a wave of mud, slime and water on to him. Admittedly she had only struck one side of him leaving him rather lopsided at that. One side remained completely dry and clean while the other half of him seemed to 'droop'. His hair hung at his neck and his pelt now lacked a considerable amount of lustre. Alas, he was the heir to a herd and things like this were not permitted to cause him hassle. Granted he was covered in mud and soaked to the skin on one side but he had endured worse and could maintain his composure at any rate.

As a result he could do nothing more than give his form an almighty shake. The still wet mud had no opportunity to settle and dry on his coat as he shook it from the fur, raining the mud in every direction. It would have been unsurprising if it struck her - that being said it was not his intention to 'return fire'. The sole purpose for the movement was to ensure that his coat was easier to clean later, he had no interest in starting a mud war. If she desired such entertainment she could locate a foal and stop being a pain in the a** to him. With that in mind, he raised a brow and shifted his gaze to the black mare for a few seconds.

A small smirk followed.

"I will," he replied coolly, flicking his tail against his flank as he moved passed the mare once more and further away from her immediate proximity. His pace was still relaxed, still that of a saunter and while he was no longer interested in his image it appeared her little act of rebellion wasn't really of great concern to him. "You have my thanks, of course," he added almost as an after thought although he refrained from looking over his shoulder as he said it.

Zeda looked back at him, she had not got a reaction she had not gotten a shout, a glare or even a scolding it seemed like no one would do this to her, her father had ignores her all of her life as well as her mother and it was one thing that she could not stand being ignored. She gritted her teeth as she ran in front of him.

"Listen you, talk for goodness sake shout of whatever do something." she stated not really knowing what to make of him, she was in a way so mad that he seemed to see her as non existing, it was driving her nuts.

She shook her head and looked up at him her mane over one of her eyes and the water dripping from her fur she chuckles slightly, not in a amusing way in a sinister and dark way, she looked up at him with big eyes as she stud a little bit closer to him. "tell me who are you?" she asked in a quiet whisper.

[sorry for the lame post just stuck on ideas next one better i promise Dx]

The movement had been so sudden that the stallions head raised a little as he drew to a halt. Leg partially raised, his golden eyes stared down on the mare as she made her rather odd demands. It was only after he had regathered his composure that the stallion lowered both his head and his leg to stand in a much more comfortable position. The urge to raise a brow was beyond considerable but discipline and self-restraint prevailed...his expression remained otherwise unreadable.

So she was one of those Soquili - a creature who had never received any, or had received too little attention or recognition for their deeds. These were the type of Soquili that many maligned Soquili considered vulnerable. Easy to manipulate, they were promised rewards and recognition...they had the ability to shout and give orders, to be listened to. His father had often told him to take note of such flighty individuals but had also told him not to toy with them. Loyalty in something that craved too much attention was never strong.

It seemed almost hypocritical that she would request that he speak now given that moments ago she had dismissed him. Nevertheless it was something he should have recognised sooner and as a result he opted to hear what she had to say. She may not have a great deal of maturity but even he could humour a creature for a short while before attending to his business. That being said, once he was bored she really wouldn't exist.

"I am known as Raniero," he offered a little belatedly and flicked his forelock from his eyes. "And for future reference, I never shout...especially in regards to such childish tendencies."

Zeda looked at him and blinked she looked to the side her eyes rolling full cicle as she smiled trotting on the spot slightly. "And what is wrong with being childish?" she asked looking at him with a small smirk as she began to circle him slightly. "I mean whats the fun in acting adult thats just admitting all you fun life is over, people like me dont want to grow up, talking about it people like me did not have much of a childhood so i am making up for lost time." she stated as she was now back infont of him, she walked closer looking him in the eyes.

"Now dont tell me you do not yell because that would mean that you do not show you are angry, which is something you can not control and if you hold yourself back it will just wind yourself up even more." she stated with kind of a tut tut tone in her voice.

She looked at him a little confused herself she did not understand why he was acting so oddly, she presumed if her father cared about her he ould tell her to stay away from these wierdo's but since her father couldnt care less she suposed she would not care about that advise that he would of given her in a paralel iniverse.

She tilted her head and looked at him, he was very plain but then again who was she to judge, she looked at him and laughed to herself slightly they where both definatly not looking at there best at the moment because of the little episode at the river, she had fun but it would have been funner if he had returned fire. Then again more fun could be up ahead.

"Anger is an emotion that can be controlled with ease," Raniero corrected the mare and shook his head. His tone was still cool and otherwise calm despite her lack of respect for his personal space and her prying questions. "It is how one expresses it that sets them apart from the rest, shouting is just one manner of expression and it lacks finesse," his father had taught him that when he was a colt. Shouting fell on deaf ears, to express anger through body anger enabled you to look much more dangerous and imposing. As a result, Raniero had long since mastered the art of radiating a positively horrid aura when he wasn't pleased.

Now wasn't one of those times...

"As for failing to act childish," he shifted his weight and shook his head at her eye rolling. Really he failed to see why he should respond to a mare who insisted on being so disrespectful to him. He was vastly losing patience with the mare, that being said he had barely had any in regards to her to begin with. "It is not an admittance to losing all the fun from one's life, there are other forms of entertainment outside of soaking another or pulling on their tail." His voice became sharp at this and he released a small snort, his expression one of both disgust and pity.

"Your excuse falls on deaf ears given that there are others who suffered the same fate as you and recovered. They became respectable, developed a sense of integrity and strength...instead of wallowing in a rut." Snorting at this, he flicked his tail against his flank to dismiss an itch and moved to the side. Shifting his gaze ahead of him he began to walk away from the mare in a dismissive fashion, he had no time to entertain a child.

"That being said you will always wallow in that rut until you realise that the world will not wait for you to wake up," he added almost as an after thought. Staying silent from that point on, he kept his back to Zeda and continued on his way.

Zeda looked over at him walking away she could not be bothered chasing after people, she had been insulted, she had been beaten and she had been forced to do what she did not want to do, but what he said to her really did bother her, she was not sure if to say anything or if her words would fall upon death ears but the point was she felt as if she had to speak out because if she did not she would regret it later, She sighed deeply as she flicked her fringe over one of her eyes. She did not know why she always did that, maybe she did not like other people to see into her eyes, it is said if a person does that they understand everything about you and she was scared of people getting close, so she preferred to remain a mystery to some, it made her feel safe.

"Its so easy to judge people isn't it? how would you know if anyone has gone threw the same things i have, I don't complain about what has gone on in my life, in fact hardly anyone knows, but i don't mind i just get on with things, its true it used to be an obsession but i have changed, so don't try to act like you can see everything about me because you really do not have any idea." She stated as she looked over at him for a second before walking back towards the River.

She tilted her head and looked in it she had a lot of the markings that her father had, except he was a lot more bright and sparkly, she did however have his multicolored skull on her back leg, even though his was a lot bigger it was a constant reminder of who she was, she used to be ashamed of it but now it was not too bad. Sure she couldn't say she loved her father after what had gone on but she saw him as a friend someone that she needed to look out for because she realized he had been threw just as much as she had and she shouldn't of hated him for being upset. He was just another person to blame besides herself but lately she had been excepting responsibility for the person that she had turned into, and was not proud of herself but was wanting to change.

She gave him one last look over her shoulder seeing he was still in range to hear her voice. "I gave you a act of kindness you did not notice though. I may be a hypocrite for saying this but just by the look of you, no one has ever done anything like that before. Which i think you need, by the way you act it just seems to me that you have not had any just childish fun in a little while, and even though you say thats a bad thing, once in a while you need to come back in contact with it because it helps you... if that makes sense.

She was trying to be nice her mother had tried her best to show that she could be a new person and Zeda thought now it was the time that she should give it a go, she would have left the male by now but, as Heha did not give up on her she felt like it was a bad thing to give up on this once, in fact he was acting a lot like she used to act. She had just realized that, she could not stop the stallion from leaving but she hoped that the would at least forgive her before she left, or her first day of a new her would not end that good, she was more confused over the last few days than she ever had been and a little extra push to carry on with her plan.

It was getting quite cold out the weather seemed to be taking a turn for the worst, it always seemed to do lately, it had been going to one extreme to the other, the clouds where almost blocking out the sun which was bad this was where that Kalona attacked her and if it got darker it might be back on the hunt again, but she wanted to stay her just a little longer she did not know why.

Now those were the words of a hypocrite. He stopped abruptly as the mare declared he knew nothing of her. Patiently listening as she attempted to butcher his personality, his observations and furthermore his strength of character. His reserved nature and self-disciplined prevented him from interrupting or disputing her claims until she leapt to conclusions about his past. Something inside him tweaked and very slowly he turned round until he was side on to the mare. No doubt she was attempting desperately to recover her composure and to 'fix' what she had done wrong but she was going about it completely the wrong way.

You did not joust with words when you were in the presence of a scholar.

They always won.

He always won.

Narrowing his amber eyes he continued to stare at the mare for the longest time before shaking his head. Silence and tension began to fill the air and then, he released an unnaturally cold laugh through his partially parted lips. Shoulders shaking in some form of bitter pleasure at what he viewed as her own naivity. She had clearly received no education, no direction and hadn't the slightest inkling of how to deal with someone who was talented with words. Insulting him was her only option and leaving herself vulnerable to his attacks and observations was the result.

"For one who claims that I have jumped to conclusions," he began at last, his tone dangerously curt. "You are very quick to make assumptions based on my own past. So allow me to enlighten you to this situation and I ask you to listen to my words very carefully..." his voice was more of a hiss as he finished, gathering all his self control so that he didn't launch a fully fledged verbal assault at the mare for her foolishness. He didn't have time to take care of a child.

"I had a wonderful childhood, loving parents and an equally entertaining brother. To assume that I had no childhood and lacked such contact is the assumption of an idiot," he was being honest in this. His mother was a playful soul and as such, had raised his brother and he with the utmost care. His father had stressed the importance of education but had been aware of the necessity to be 'free' - it had been Raniero's decision to adopt the role of a scholar and to embrace his reserved characteristics.

"I do not approve of being covered in grime because it requires me to clean it," he snarled and shook his head, thrusting the hair away from his eyes. "And cleaning my coat takes time, time I would sooner use on more constructive activities." He chuckled softly and shook his head again as he looked at the mare in disgust...or was it pity?

"You did no good deed, mare - what you did, was waste my time." Flicking his tail against his flank, he snorted dismissively at the mare and arched a brow. "I have nothing to be thankful for when it comes to you."
