If you were trying to introduce someone to House and you wanted to make sure they saw an episode that would be most likely to captivate their interest, which episode would you recommend or show the person?

This is at my friends request, since normally she likes to watch series in order. But House is already starting it's fifth season and if she does end up liking it, I want to catch her up. But she said if there are any gripping episodes that I think will catch her interest, she will find that better then going in order. And since it is hard for me to recall every single amazing detail an episode had to offer, I am seeking assistance from the guild to tell me some episodes that have stuck with you.

I will suggest to her to tune into USA Mon.-Fri. at eight if she has the time, but I want to find some amazing episodes that will catch her interest so she will have the will to watch it. If she doesn't like it afterward that's great, I'm just curious to if you were planning on showing episodes that will interest a friend, what would you chose? We always say watch a certain episode to certain friends that will likely show them the amazing aspects of the show. At least that is what me and my friends do.

all of them blaugh

Although I like Season 1's "Three Stories". It has 3 patients, one being House. I'd probably reccommend that.

Thanks and keep them coming ^^

I am letting her watch it from the beginning and I have showed her House v. God since I thought that would be a good episode. But to keep her interest I want to have a few awesome episodes to show her so she sees how awesome it is and keeps the desire to continue watching it ^^.

hmmm... an 'awesome' one...

one that comes to mind is "Frozen", from last season... it's the one that aired after the Super Bowl

"Love Hurts", from season 1, is good too... that's the one where House and Cameron go on their date after she agrees to come back to work

"All In", from season 2

"Son of a Coma Guy", from season 3 is good for some more back story besides "Three Stories".... "One Day, One Room" as well

aside from the Tritter mini-arc, I'd consider season 3 to be pretty good, in general

I really like detox from season one. but just try to tell people it's good points. witty, heartbreaking, good writing, the characters. and obviously when it's on! or if you have the box set maybe lend it to them (but i don't trust anybody with mine!)

Y'all make it sound like a cult indoctrination. If she likes the show, great. But it's not the end of the world if she's not in love with it.

What is this I feel
Why is it so real
What am I to say...

"Lines in the Sand" or "Three Stories." 3nodding

It's only love
It's only pain
It's only fear that runs through my veins
It's all the things you can't explain...

Kay maybe when you know my friend then you will understand. Because it was her wish for me to find some interesting episodes to show her. She doesn't watch much tv that often, so she can't tune into USA at 8 every night this September to catch them playing episodes five days a week. When she does watch shows, she watches ones she is already familiar with. So, she asked me to find her some that may spark her interest so then she can have the will to catch up. And another piece of information for you, I don't mind if her or my other friends don't like the show, but when trying to see if they would like it, it would be nice to have some more gripping episodes on hand then going in order when some might be more boring then others. One of my good friends hates the show and I don't force her to watch, so I am not trying to force anyone to like it.

And I also do not try to make people in love with something they just like, so your assumption I feel you got from me was slightly hurtful. Plus, she has done the same thing with me for CSI, I told her I never watched it and she told me I should watch a few episodes and see what I think. Since I watch more television then she does and I have a DVR, I did just that. And I am not in love with it, but like it, so since she wanted me to check it out I want her to check House out, but again her television time is scarce. So, in order to prevent her from waisting her time with a less interesting episode, I am seeking out peoples opinions of some amazing episodes that might have slipped my mind after seeing so many.

So while your opinion is yours, it sounds as if you are judging me. Maybe I should have been more detailed in the first post, that it was on her request that I show her some of the more gripping episodes. I shall edit my first post in order to clear up any similar confusion others in the guild might have toward my intentions. So then maybe I will not be compared to a psychotic brain-washer, which I take as an insult. If this was not your intention and I am "putting words in your mouth" then I apologize, but this is the feeling I got from your statement.

I'd have them start with the pilot episode. It introduces the characters and basic story line that is continued through the show. (kind of...)

I have shown her pilot and House v. God so far. I have sent her some of the other episodes in order from the first season, but she does not get online much. Well, she does for her animation projects, but she rarely goes on the internet.

Then track her down and force her to watch it. I don't care if she lives states away.
