Entry! Name: evergladeslizard mrgreen Pet Trying For: 1 Response: (~*~ Prompt 1 ~*~) As I blearlily blink the sleep from my eyes, I notice the little bundle curled up on my lap. I'm as still as possible, so as not to wake him up. Almost as of he could sense my careful admiration, the whimsy wakes. He reaches out is front paws and flurls out is wings in an impressive stretch as he yawns. As he tucks his limbs back in, he turns to inspect his cushion and lets out a little questioning purr-like chirp. "Hello," I laugh,"have a good nap?" He cocks his head and warily sniffs at my out reached hand. I slowly move to scratch his head between his ears, which he quickly decides he likes. Soon I discover his favorite spot is behind the ears by the jaw. By this time the sun is beginning to set in the garden, but neither of us want to go. The whimsy lays back down on my lap and looks up at me. "You're right," I answer as I lean against a tree, "I'm feeling a bit tired myself."

Entry! Name: Nuclearity Pet Trying For: 4 Response: ~*~ Prompt 3 ~*~ I approached the curious black and blue kitten. Was it really an animal? It was tiny and it lay there so still, but I could've sworn I've seen it move more than once. So, heavily armed with some random twig I picked up, I moved closer still. There it was, it twitched in its slumber once more. I wasn't going crazy, after all. I was almost upon him now, so close that I could see the slight glimmer of his silky pelt. I could also see the small but evident lathery blue wings firmly attached to his back, these weren't fake.
I decided to touch him, he looked so magnificent, so fragile. I dropped my weapon, cupping my hand and scooping him up. Incredulously, he was still asleep. My eager curiosity got the best of me and I prodded him awake. He instantly woke up, spluttering at me, as if he had some language of his own. I just watched in awe, the fool I was, until he bit me. "Hey!" There was a tiny trickle of blood running down my forefinger, "Let's just be friends, okay?" Shunning this little miracle would be very unwise of me, at least I thought so. I stroked his head with my right forefinger, the one that wasn't just assaulted. As if he understood my apology, he purred in approval. I believed that this very real pixie kitten would indeed become one of my most treasured companions.

As the sun passes over the hills it sends a blaze of pinks, purples, and oranges into the sky. The birds now had quit singing and the sound of the wind was dying down. Animals beginning to go home and the babies that ran around went into their homes to eat and once again prepare for tomorrow with rest.
In the gardens a little kitten slept soundly all on his own. His snored softly and his little wings would flap at each breath he took, in and out. He rose and did a cute little stretch the shivered lightly, the yawn he gave off sounded like a small squeak. The bits of dirt flew off of him as he did so. The first bit of sleep he had gotten all day.
A growl came from behind him and he saw something move.
Now the garden seemed to be a bit more mellow and dark. It was early spring and things here were giving off life. The bugs around seemed to give more life because they were moving around and doing their duty in the garden.
Hitachi watched as a butterfly flew right past his nose and he sneezed. The thing in the garden gave a load squeak and began to charge toward the noise of the sneeze.
He took quiet action and made the attempt to move but failed and it was too late. His small body was soon shaking from the impact and his small heart beat like it was his last few seconds here.
The animal that collided into him perked up and smiled sweetly as it was only a small wolf cub, bigger then Hitachi but from the looks of it wasn't really smart. He had cuts and bruises all over the place.
He moved toward him and smiled. "Joo 'lone like me?" He asked and the puppy just sat there panting. "ju got a home?" He moved a little closer as the puppy did the same.
The puppy jumped on Hitachi and started to lick his face...Laughs and giggles rolled through the garden.
As the evening rolled on the two played and laughed energy started to run our and the two grew tired. Finally they lay in the garden calmly and a wonderful day had come to an end as the peaceful garden regained it's zin state.
The moon had now risen and it's bright face stared over the face of the earth. The stars shun like diamonds and the bugs went into their holes to rest like everyone did. As day turned to night..the soft snores and flapping of wings went right back up and filled the air.

Entry! Name: Kesmi Pet Trying For: #1 Response: Prompt 4 (Also using my whimsical Fly. ^^)
Cold, wet, and Alabaster’s white feathers and coat were brown and soggy, it wasn’t fit for man nor whimsical that evening. Shaking his head to free the water that collected in his fur. Even his elegant feathered head piece wasn’t it’s shinning, glimmering self, it had a thin coat of mud and muck caked within its strands. That made the young whimsical even the more down hearted. Huddling under a drooping flower blossom, Alabaster shook again scattering mud and water in all directions. At least not he was a little cleaner, though still his wings couldn’t open and his eyes were almost closed against the rain and cold.
“Why did it have to be so cold when it rained?” Alabaster asked turning his, well what used to be a pink nose, skyward as if it would answer him.
Then there was the wind that blew over the gardens, sending shivers down then young kynd’s spin. The drooping blossom sways sending large drops of water splashing down atop Alabaster. Shaking again his coat turned more white then brown and his wings slowly freed from their muddy tombs. Stretching the small wings he tested them, still no good. They were still too heavy to fly with, pouting the young whimsical sighed placing his rump on the muddied ground once again. What was he to do?
Deep chocolate eyes closed themselves for a moment as he almost seemed to give up on moving as the winds buffeted the grass around him and shifted his shelter once more. Shaking his head, his headpiece looking more and more like its autumn themed self with each clear drop of water, but it wasn’t getting any warmer just sitting there. Giving his coat one more shake to clear any dirt that might have, though he doubted it, dried while he sat there. With a flick of his tail, Alabaster stepped back out into the rain. Oh he did wish that the sun would shine again.
Alabaster’s path took him close to the edge of the gardens where the shop windows often appeared for his kind to see in and at times wander in if they weren’t busy. Perching himself on the wooden ledge, his ears standing tall on his head as he watched those inside the walls. Oh it looked so warm and dry with there, the thoughts made him shiver even more against the cold that seeped through his skin to his bones. So young and already he felt old in the cold rain. Ears drooping as a soft whimper escaped his muzzle, he wanted in, in and out of the cold rain.
Tail drooping behind him, heavyed down by the water and what mud still clung to it. Standing on his hind paws, Alabaster pawed at the glass, digging at it franticly, trying to get in. He wanted warmth, food and shelter away from the cold, hungry, outside world. What seemed like forever, someone inside finally heard Alabaster’s small claws scratching upon the glass. A strange black and white canine came to place itself on the other side of the glass. Its emerald colored eyes watching his, its long black tail swaying behind. This one looked friendly, but he still wasn’t sure as he backed away, head lowered and tail tucked under his belly and between his legs. The larger whimsical nosed at the barely cracked window, pushing it outwards just enough to poke its head out and get a clearer view of the young pup, this made Alabaster shrink back even further along the windowsill.
“Wh… What do you want?” he whimpered, shaking from head to tail, not only from the rain, but fear as well. Fear of the larger kynd that stared down at him with an almost motherly light.
“I was wondering what you were doing out here in this bleak weather.” The larger replied as its head tilted to one side.
The voice coming across as a female, was it really that? Could she let him into the room where he could get warm again? Alabaster could only hope so as he creped shakingly forward, closer to the warmth that escaped the open window. Though his eyes remained fixed on the larger kynd as it too seemed to be watching him. He noted the black and white markings on the kynd, he wondered who she was, more importantly, he wondered if she would let him in or just watch him shiver in the cold.
Fly, as the larger kynd was deemed by her mother, watched the young shivering pup creep closer to her. Raising a paw she watched him sink away again, she smiled warmly as she pushed at the window again opening it still a bit wider, enough for him to pass her and into the warmth. Standing, Fly backed away from the opening, her tail raised and curled over her back, friendly in gesture, she stepped back giving him all the space he needed to feel at ease.
“No need to worry little one.” Her voice came again in a soft whisper as Alabaster walked cautiously in past her, and she tugged at the window to try and close it, but it wouldn’t budge so she forgot about it and turned to follow the small mud coated pup. “You are safe here. No one will harm you.”
Still shaking, the warmth slowly making its way past the soggy fur and mud coated feathers to warm his skin. He stiffened as the larger kynd laid behind him, her tail coming forward to wrap around him like a warm furry blanket before pulling away. Next thing he knew something warm and wet was trailing over his dirty coat. Turning quick, wings throwing themselves open and his tail tucking once more between his legs he looked up at the Fly with frightened eyes and all she did was smile back.
“Something the matter little one?” she asked her expression changing to concern as he stood stiff with fear, ears pressing themselves back against his muddy head.
“N.. no..” He stuttered trying to relax, but he was finding it hard to. “I… I don’t even know you…”
“Oh dear me,” She blinked, an ear flicking. “Where had my manners gone, My name’s Fly. Do you have a name little one?” her head tilting to one side as it lowered down to his eye level.
“It… It’s Ala.. Alabaster.” Stepping back still his head lowering in a sign of submission to the larger one. “Th… Though it’s nice to… To meet you, F.. Fly.”
Fly merely watched Alabaster as he stepped backwards away from her, standing again she walked over to the young pup and nuzzled her head against him. She felt his fur prickle out at the gesture of friendliness. Shaking his head, Alabaster looked up at Fly, his face still covered in mud, he really did look like he needed a bath. More so it was his stomach that made her giggle as its growl was loud enough for anyone to hear.
“Come, we’ll get you something to eat. Then I will give you a bath.” She nodded nudging him a little. “Come on. This way.”
“Fo… Food?” he tilted his head at the mention of it, his tail no longer hid beneath him, but wagged behind him. He liked food, and he was hungry enough to eat something larger then himself. “Where is this food… Ma?”
This surprised Fly and even Alabaster himself to the point that he was glad he was still dirty. Had he just called her ‘ma’? Where had that come from? Was it because if her ways and kindness? It had to be, as she only smiled with a small laugh as she shook her head lightly. Turning she nuzzled against the young pup.
“You are a silly little one Alabaster. But if you like you can call me Ma.” She nodded nudging him in the side until he rolled over onto his back and her nose tickled at his belly. “Now, come on, it’s meal time and I don’t think we want to miss it.” She giggled watching him roll over and bound forward with a little more vigor then before.
“Th… Then what are we waiting for?” he piped, though he still had that feared stutter.
Fly laughed at the pup as she followed behind him as he seemed to find a new energy at the though of getting something to eat. She wasn’t sure if it was that or that she agreed to him calling her ‘ma’. Either way she still laughed watching the pup as they headed toward the kitchen of the shop to get something to eat.

Entry! [#2] Name: Nuclearity Pet Trying For: 2 Response: ~*~ Prompt 2 ~*~
Rena was fluttering about the garden, her bright green eyes bright and filled with curiosity. This would make a perfect home. Each of the numerous flourishing flowers about her had its own scent, far different from the musky smell of the forest nearby. Her pastel blue wings barely carried her violet form. Flying was still dangerous for the tiny kitten and she knew it, but the discovery of this magnificent garden made her tedious journey worthwhile. This was her adventure, the spice of her juvenile life.
Rena was a solitary little creature, always off by herself, plotting her crazy adventures. No one else had understood the thrilling glory of exploration so she had given up on 'everyone else' and ventured off into the great unknown that lay beyond the monotone forest. And here she was, this amazing new world with no limitations, no one holding her back, no one at all quite really.
Her wide eyes dimmed as she looked around with a worried look. She was just a little kitten, why was noone looking for her? She heard a crash behind her. Turning about, she saw a monster! A giant that looked very much like her, with strange ears, standing on two feet with ease. And it was looking at her! She was frightened, her little heart pounding as if it were to steal away her wings and float off. The giant approached her, its huge claws outstretched. It spoke a strange language, "Come here, I won't hurt you," it said. Rena squealed and tried to float away, but it was too late. The thing seized her and held her captive in its paws as if in a cage, the claws acting as bars. Feeling the exhaustion, the kitten passed out.
Her eyes refused to open, she tossed around where she lay, some warm, soft surface. She heard a noise and her eyes fluttered open. There it was, the huge creature, which Rena later learned was called a "human", standing over her with what seemed like a smile on its face. The kitten smiled back, she now trusted this overpowering giant.

It was a nice late summer afternoon. The sun was finally starting to give a break from its overbearing heat. It had been screaming all day to let us know it was leaving soon for its normal yearly winter hiatus. As always, I was ignoring it by taking a nap in my cotton hammock. I was swinging back and forth. I felt the occassional breeze pass through my toes.
Then, as I went to roll over; I caught was looked like a big purple orb in the grass. What was that? I tried to think if I had seen any strangers or their kids playing in the garden. Sometimes neighbors would happen into this area. Noone should have ever been there besides myself and my family. This was our special sanctuary; yet the occassional tresspasser did happen. Thing was that I didn't hear anything unusual.
I rolled right out of the hammock; I kissed the dirt with a disgraceful tumble out. I never could get up off of it correctly. I then dusted myself off and balled up my hands. I would go see this for myself. I would. That short walk took what felt like an eternity as I kept psyching myself up to go and see. But, the closer I got; I noticed it wasn't an orb at all. It was small, purple, and furry? Furry! What on earth is a purple furry something doing in my garden? With undeniable curiosity, I lifted it gently into my arms.
Why... This looked just like my Gusty.. only.. slightly different. Did this type of animal really exist? I had heard it was true; but I hadn't seen one with my own eyes. How strange.... Did I really wake up from my nap? Or.. is this a delusion brought on by the steep heat of the day?

Aruna, the purple kitten yawns while flickering her ears when she suddenly felt something on her side. "........EEEEEKKK!" She sees a small hedgehog on her sleeping. "... wh. .what is that?!" She said in a hushed whisper. The hedgehog, being stubborn as it was.. never moved or made a sound. She tilted her head at it before sniffing its scent.
"....is.. that a hedgy?!" She grins but melted when she saw it wasn't an adult.. but a baby one. "....oh, my.. " She said in almost all grown up tone or sounded like one. "....thats.. a baby one.." She looked around for the mother. "..I wonder why it is on me?" The hedgehog did a cute yawn as it slowly wakes up. It looked at her with its beady cute eyes and paws at her.
"...mama." Aruna not only gasped but felt her tears forming. She fights to keep her voice from breaking up, ".. I am not your mama, little one. I am Aruna... a kitten.. probably the same age as you. But I can help you find her." The hedgehog only whined and clings to Aruna, not understanding what she is saying.
"Mama...I wuv you." Aruna sighed and nuzzles the little one before looking at it. "..Alright.. I'll be your mama, little one..." Her heart was hurt that this little baby had no mama or papa or even homeless. "I will take care of you... We need to find you a name, hmm?" She nuzzled the little baby once again. She knew inside her heart that she would have to grow up a little more to be able to take care of it.
"How about.. Rune?" She smiled as the little hedgy nodded at her question. She nuzzled him to get up and looked to her owner's home. "Lets get you inside.. It'll be cold soon, little one." From that moment on.. they would become close.... will it be for eternity? or will something break them apart? Only time will tell...

It had been a long trek, and I couldn't go on any further. I had just stumbled across a beautiful garden full of blue, purple, and deep magenta flowers. Suddenly drowsy, I succumb to my exhaustion and fell asleep.
I'm not certain how long I was asleep, but when I awoke I couldn't help but notice a cute, dark, tiny kitten curled up and nestled between my arm and side. Or, at least, I thought it was a kitten. It had very dark markings, much like the vivid flowers of the garden. Very small, I tried not to move too much as I stretched so not to disturb it.
Then I felt a slight sting on my arm. That little kitten had a single claw embedded in me! I looked down, and with one eye open it gazed up at me mischieviously. "Hey!" I semi-shouted. The kitten retracted the claw, stretched, yawned, and then meowed loudly in seemingly protest to my outburst.
Time goes by and we both just lie there. I then realize I needed to get going, but feel guilty. I get up to leave, as I am bad with goodbyes, but the small creature simply follows suits and is right behind me. Leaving the beautiful garden behind, I continue on my journey, with the company of little Senka; my little shadow.

It took a fair amount of work to tend to a garden. Firstly, there was weeding. Xochitl was always weeding,. Her little toes on her little paws wriggled as she plucked weed after weed from the fertile dirt that provided nutrients for her precious flowers. "You shouldn't be in here," Xochitl hissed at a weed she hung in front of her eyes, ears laid back against her skull. She hated plucking a living thing from the safety of the ground, but, her flowers were much more precious than a leeching weed. After she was done with weeding that patch of flowers, there were several more to be done! Xochitl sat back on her haunches, rustling her wings while she surveyed the job she had done already. Quite a fair amount of the garden had been tended to, but there was still a lot left. The task that lay before her was intimidating, but, she was dead-set on finishing before dark.
A quick glance to the horizon reassured Xochitl that she still had a few hours to work. The sun had begun to sink from its xenith, but it hadn't yet started to kiss the skyline. Vibrant shades of orange and yellow had appeared on the horizon in wide bands, mingling and twining with the deepening blue. Xochitl took a moment to relax and watch the sky morph from day to night. The brightness of the colors enthralled her, held her attention for quite longer than she had intended. By the time she managed to snap out of her trance, the sun was pressing its lips to the horizon in that ritualistic, good-night kiss. "Oh, drat!" Xochitl cried out frustratedly, swatting at a nearby flower with her paw. Although she was a kitten, her claws were still sharp; they tore through the leaves on the plant and left it bent and wilted.
Immediately, Xochitl felt guilty for harming one of her precious flowers. "Oh, no, no!" She cried, scampering closer. As she attempted to prop up the flower [which was somewhat amusing to watch, a kitten trying to hold up a flower] something near the base of the stem caught the purple kitten's eyes. "Oh! What's this?" She said, crouching down to sniff at the .. thing. "A toad!" She cried excitedly, having identified the creature, hidden by the shadows that dusk produced. "What're you doing in my garden, mister toad?" Xochitl inquired, reaching out tentatively to pat the toad with a paw. He croaked, and took a bounding leap away from the playful kitten. "Oh, you don't have to go! Come back!" She said, her little tush wiggling in the air, her tail lashing back and forth as she readied herself to pounce. "I just want to plaaay," she cajoled, hoping that the toad would stay put, just for a second... *POUNCE!*
As Xochitl pounced, mister toad mimicked her movements. He, also, leapt away, as if he sensed that the kitten wanted to play a game of tag. Or, perhaps, he was simply evading her sharp, little claws. Either way, Xochitl was left pouting. "Fine. You don't want to play," she observed, slowly stalking closer to the toad. It stayed in place as she lowered her head to sniff the amphibian. But, her nose lightly brushed his back, which resulted in the toad taking several leaps away from her. His body, mottled with dark greens, blended in perfectly with the flora of the garden. The toad was lost to Xochitl. With a sigh, Xochitl accepted the loss. Turning back to the flowers, she resumed her work -- though, her tail twitched endlessly, and her eyes continued to peer at the base of every flower she passed. She'd keep an eye out for that toad, just in case he changed his mind and wanted to play.

Entry! Name: Ramenli Pet Trying For: 3 Response: For the responses sake I'm calling the pet George (this will go for all entries and I'll pick a real name if I win one) XD And prompt #2
You're small and alone. While you're used to this it's getting a bit boring. What do you do to spice up your life? How do you make it more exciting? How do you react when something scares you?
George yawned and flicked a tiny pebble with his paw. When one had horns and scary bat wings, not to mention a sharply pointed tail it was hard to make friends. He was so misunderstood, when would others realize that maybe he wasn't mean and scary just because he was a daemonkynd? He was a bit cranky, and his boredom couldn't be measured so with a sigh he got up, deciding a nice drink of water might cool him off. He grumpily wandered toward a clear little pool. Carefully he leaned down and began lapping at the water.
"My you look grouchy~" Sithmaith said in a sing-song voice.
George jumped at the noise, then it registered, she had thought he was grouchy automatically. He was about to respond when a yawn forced its way through his mouth. He yawned, unintentionally baring his teeth.
Sith shuddered slightly, she wasn't really used to dealing with mean whimsies. "Er sorry I didn't mean to bother you." She quickly ducked underwater and swam away, distraught that she had made someone so angry.
George drooped, someone else had misunderstood him. He just wanted to make friends.
"Whats got you so upset?"
At the sound George jerked, flaring his wings out as a natural reaction to whatever it was that startled him. He panted, scared and feeling silly for having been caught so off-guard. He turned to see a green cat weaving her way towards him in a most peculiar manner. "You...you aren't scared of me?"
Mary Jane laughed at him, a gleam in her eye. "Why should I be afraid of someone who's so terrified of me? Cheer up kid, soon you'll grow up and scare anyone you wish." She brushed him with her tail and sauntered off, every once in a while doing a weird hop-skip or abruptly changing directions.
George sighed yet again, once again he was misunderstood...but at least she wasn't afraid. And maybe she was right, maybe when he grew up people would see him differently. Maybe he'd find someone that understood him.

"Mmmm?" Eithne blinked, raising a paw to rub her eyes as she yawned, sleepily blinking as she raised her head to look at her surroundings. "Where am I?" The little winged Whimsical was dazed for a second as she fell, lost in her thoughts. Why had she fallen asleep? It wasn't even night yet! And she did sleep early! She needed her beauty sleep.
She recalled deciding to go down to the garden to observe the flowers, or perhaps, talk with the butterflies. They were such beautiful creatures, not unlike herself, and Eithne liked conversing with them. Even if they didn't reply. It was better than the strange looks of apprehension she got when she stared at others in disdain. It wasn't her fault they weren't as pretty as her! She was just born more beautiful than them! "Hmmph!" At this thought, she raised her nose into the air and sniffed haughtily.
The kitten was about to get up when she felt tiny legs on her back, and turned, expecting to see a butterfly, but to her horror...! Such an ugly creature! She screeched, batting a paw at the black beetle. "Get off! Don't touch me!" Eithne convulsed wildly as the insect...thing flew away into the air. It was so disgusting! And it had touched her pretty, pretty fur! Whimpering, she groomed herself, sticking out her tongue as she did so.
"How do you stand them?" She asked a butterfly perched on a nearby flower. "They're insects too, but they're not as pretty as you are. As we are. Such a disgrace!" She shuddered, wings fluttering as she did so.
"They are simply not worthy to touch us." She concluded. Next time, she would keep out a sharp eye for those revolting creatures. And not fall asleep in the garden anymore.

The garden looked inviting in the bright summer sun, and the shade of an old maple tree and the sweet scent of flowers had lulled me into a lazy, dreamless sleep. It was a blissful escape from the noisy, gossipy crowd of my classmates that I had just left.
My instructor had arranged a tour of the school grounds for the new students, and I had taken the opportunity to dodge out of the group when we passed through the huge garden. It was already mid-afternoon and I was tired after walking around the campus for the past couple of hours, so I lay underneath the biggest tree in the garden where I was now sleeping.
In the branches above me came a loud rustling sound which startled me awake. I sat up and looked into the treetop, curious about what was making so much noise, but nothing caught my eye so I lay back down and continued my nap.
In less than half-an-hour I was disturbed again by warmth on my stretched out legs that was making me uncomfortably hot. I raised my head to see what was lying on top of me, and a small gasp escaped my lips. Curled up and asleep in front of me was a baby creature! That alone wasn’t enough to startle me, but this baby was unlike any animal I had ever seen. It looked like a kitten, but with purple and blue-striped fur and, most remarkable of all, it had tiny blue wings on its back. I watched in fascination as its emerald eyes fluttered slowly open and looked up at me. I stood rigidly still, afraid that I might startle it, but it seemed completely unalarmed and stood up slowly with a yawn. It crawled from my legs into my lap and continued to stare innocently at my face. My heart filled with affection as I gazed at my fearless companion.
“Hello, darling,” I whispered, “You’re so beautiful.” “Thank you,” a voice replied, and a smile spread across the face of the kitten in front of me. My mouth hung open in astonishment. This creature could talk?! But I hadn’t seen its mouth open at all. “I’m just imagining things,” I sighed. The kitten made no reply, but licked its paw and began to wash its face. “I wonder, are you a girl or a boy?” asked I. A snort came from the little thing. “I’m a girl, can’t you tell?” I felt my heart skip a beat. The voice again! “You can talk?” I gasped. “Of course I can talk,” she replied. “If you can talk why shouldn’t I?” My mind went blank, but I stuttered out a reply. “W-why don’t you open your mouth? When you talk, I mean?” “I don’t need to open my mouth to talk,” she replied haughtily, “I’m a Celeskynd. We speak with our minds.” With an impatient sigh she stood up and jumped off my lap. A low growl came from her belly and she lowered her head sheepishly. “You wouldn’t happen to have something to eat, would you?” she asked. “Um, I have food in my dorm room, if you want to come with me?” Her emerald eyes sparkled and she smiled again. “Yes, please!” she trilled. With one small hop she was airborne, her tiny wings fluttering as fast as a hummingbird's. I watched her in wide-eyed admiration; I could tell she liked showing off. “You’d better not fly all the way there. People aren’t used to seeing a flying…whatever you are.” “Celeskynd!” she corrected, and with a shrug she landed on my shoulder. I laughed and stroked her pretty head, “I still can’t believe you're real.” She purred and curled up with a yawn. “I think I’ll take a nap,” she whispered drowsily. I smiled at her and my heart raced with joy. Something told me that this little creature was going to make my new school a lot more exciting.

Entry! Name: Trying for HuzzBuzz heart Pet Trying For: 3 Response: Prompt 4 It's a stormy afternoon and along the edge of the garden in a window you see a comfortable scene, how do you react? What will you do?
The Whimsie sat curled up in a cluster of thick holly bushes. The thunderstorm had been raging since early that morning and he was soaked to the skin. Bushes provided little protection from the hard rain but he had spent most of the night there, mostly because he was too scared to move. He felt miserable.
As he listened closely to the steady hum of the raindrops on the ground, he detected a softening in their pattern. It was the first time that day that the rain had let up and he was determined to take advantage of it by finding new shelter. He gathered his shaky nerves together and pushed through the holly leaves, slowly emerging into the open. The sky was overcast and there was no visible end to the dark rainclouds. The Whimsie took this as a sign that the storm could return in full force at any time, so he quickly looked around to find a more suitable refuge. The holly bushes were part of a small garden that he had wandering into during his attempt to escape the thunder and rain the night before. In the partial daylight he saw that the garden lay behind a small stone house covered with moss. The house was the only decent shelter he could see nearby, so the Whimsie trotted towards the first window he saw and jumped on the ledge that jutted out.
Moisture clouded his view to the indoors, so he rubbed his body against the lower panes to wipe them clean. He brought his face close to the window until his nose was touching the cold glass. Inside was a living area, in the middle of which stood a couch and two thick armchairs, all facing a low-burning fireplace. His chest ached at the sight of the dry, warm interior; he was determined to find a way in. With a sigh he jumped down from the ledge and began searching the house for an entrance. The chimney was certainly not an option, he thought, and the window was secured. He wandered to the front of the house and climbed three steps to the front door. Staring up at the knob, he shook his wet head and shivered, wondering if he could manage to open it.
His wings fluttered, but nothing happened. In frustration he flapped harder and finally managed to lift himself slightly off the ground. As he reached the doorknob he touched his wet paws to it and tried to twist. His paws slipped off again and again, and finally he gave up and lowered himself back onto the ground. Nearing desperation his eyes roved the whole front of the house, but he saw no way in. A sudden clap of thunder caused him to yelp in fear and he jumped against the door, which suddenly gave way.
The Whimsie picked himself off the ground and looked around him; he was inside the house! He looked up at the door, but it was closed except for a small square outline of light that trickled in near the bottom. His paw reached out towards the center of the square and he pushed it lightly. It moved outward at his touch, then swung back in when he let up. With a sigh of relief at his good fortune he turned to inspect the rest of the house. He could smell the burning wood and, nose to the floor, eagerly made his way to the fireplace. Panting with happiness, he stretched out in front of the dying embers and drifted off into a deep sleep, relieved that he had finally found a place where he felt safe.

Entry! Name: KagomeHigurashi08 Pet Trying For: 2 (Minase) Response: Prompt 1
~*~ Prompt 1 ~*~
You've made it into the garden, and unlike everywhere else you've fallen asleep. When you wake up there is a small sleeping creature on you. How do you interact? How does the whimsy react?
KagomeHigurashi08 - Minase – Accepting – Female
Kazuyo decided to travel from France to the Whimsical garden that her precious babies had come from to learn more about the whimsical, their habits, and how to take better care of the darling little creatures. She wanted to be the best guardian she possibly could and felt that she must see their original habitat and home to know how best to keep Yuri, Kyo, Fae, Tristan, Riku, Serena, Daisu, T.J., Elines, Kuran, and Daisy, along with any other whimsical that came to her home, healthy, safe, and happy.
Kazuyo’s journey from France to the secret garden, which Daisu had grudgingly told her how to get to, took her seven days. The last two days Kazuyo had to walk through forests so by the time she got to the whimsical garden she was exhausted from the long trek. Kazuyo glances at the sun that was high in the sun before finding a tall tree. She slid down the tree and leaned against it before setting the bag she was carrying down and looking out at the most beautiful garden she had ever seen. Before long Kazuyo was sound asleep next to the tree.
Kazuyo woke up three hours later to the sound of purring. She looked all around her for the source but only saw the beautiful garden before her. As she tried to shift her legs, she realized the source of the purring was a furry bundle that appeared to be sleeping. It must have crawled into her lap while she was sleeping. Kazuyo smiled and started to pet the creature wondering if it was another whimsical. The creature was purple, with wings of an angel on its back and as it shifted in its sleep she could tell that it was an adorable cat. Kazuyo wondered if this cat was what Yuri had called a celeskynd. She remembered that Yuri said that the breed was rare and that their personalities were sunny and cheerful. She also remembered the celeskynds loved to bring happiness to those around them. She watched as the darling little creature yawned and lifted up its head, the feathered barrette like object fluttering as a light breeze passed through.
The celeskynd kitten looked up at Kazuyo and yawned again before standing up and crawling to reach Kazuyo’s chest where she planted her paws. The kitten was now eye level with Kazuyo and was staring intently into Kazuyo’s eyes. Kazuyo smiled and decided to strike up a conversation. She knew that a whimsical could only talk to her should they choose her as an owner but that didn’t mean that she couldn’t be friendly. It was her goal to help all animals, especially the ones who couldn’t defend themselves.
“Hiya,” Kazuyo started. “My name is Kazuyo. Are you lost? Do you need me to help you in anything? You are really adorable. Are your parents nearby?” Kazuyo asked and the kitten nodded or shook her head to answer each of Kazuyo’s questions. “Well then are you hungry?” she asked as she reached across the kitten to her bag which she had forgotten about to pull out a can of sardines. The kitten looked at the can and watched Kazuyo intently as she opened the container and set it down. The kitten opened its wings and flew upon the can, eating quickly.
Kazuyo smiled as she pulled out a banana and ate it. The kitten finished off the can quickly and started flying around Kazuyo’s head causing the girl to laugh. Kazuyo smiled at the kitten. “I wish I could take you home with me and you could join me and my other whimsicals!” Kazuyo sighed.
“I can!” the kitten spoke blinking her bright green eyes at the surprised Kazuyo. “Hi, my name is Minase. My parents died a while ago but everyone in this forest have been really great to me. Would you really take me home with you and make me a part of your family?” Minase asked.
Kazuyo smiled, she was sad that the kitten had lost her parents but was glad that she could finally do what she came her to do. To help animals in need. Kazuyo nodded to Minase, “Of course you can come home with me. I own an animal shelter in which all animals who need or want a home can come and stay. I have other whimsicals to who would love to become your friends.” Kazuyo explained and Minase flew around happily and they began their long trek back to Kazuyo’s home in France.
Kazuyo didn’t accomplish her goal to learn more about the whimsical and their habitat that she set out to reach when travelling to the secret garden of the whimsical but she did make a new friend and that was what counted in the end. Because nothing is better than the bond of love and friendship that tied people and animals so tightly together that nothing else is even worth noticing.
