When a reasonable ammount of time had passed, Cissy moved up the stairs and knocked on the door frame.
"Mally?"
Mal just groaned.
"Malcolm, we need to go."
"Go where?" Mal grumbled.
Cissy bit her lip. "Someone I called came through for me. To help you."

Vic looked up to Cissy, and then back down to Mally.
"Help him...how?"

"Breaking the curse." She tugged on one of each of their arms, Mally's being quite limp. "C'mon. Vic, either you get up with him or I'm dragging him off."
Mal just groaned again. "Gimmie... Gimmie a minute."

Vic shook his head and just hefted Mally up.
"No. We're going."

Cissy smiled, and lead the way to the shop. Past the other shops they had been in before, and up to the door. She knocked once, hard, and dusted off her dress.
Mally just lay against Vic, eyes closed. Okay. Carrying was nice. For him, anyway.

Vic was coddling Mally like a hurt child.
Samuel had been waiting in the shop, staring at the door. He was just a shape in dim light as he unlocked the door and gestured for them to come inside.
"Come, come. We must move quickly. Outside, back here." Polly waved from the slider door and Mint was nowhere to be seen. This was all very exciting! He was finally going to be able to watch Daddy perform a ritual!

"Thank you," Cissy said, following him with a look behind her to make sure that Vic was as well.

Vic went outside, and Samuel led them to a bonfire he had created earlier in the night. Polly stood back, just on the tree line. Daddy said it might be dangerous. He didn't want to get hurt.
Samuel stretched a leather blanket out on the ground and put a lavender pillow on it.
"Place him down, please."
Vic did as he was told.

Mal 'looked' about, sniffing, trying to figure out what was going on. Hell if he was going to ask.
Cissy reached up and grabbed one of Vic's hands with both of hers. She was lucky, and he was an angel! Hopefully that would help.

"Please go stand with my son," Samuel said, pointing to the pink-haired boy at the fringe. He trusted them to listen to him, and so continued the ritual before waiting for a reply.
He took a strange paste he'd made and tore open Mal's shirt, smearing it on his bare chest. A giant dollop was dropped above the heart. Then Samule lit a candle and began to draw veves and strange symbols all along Mal's body. The demon within him was sure to recognize the danger by now...

Oh, yes, it did. Mally's hands gripped into fists and he grinned. "You can't deny me-" The man growled, voice again not his. Mal was working damn hard to keep him reigned in.

Samuel just smiled, still murmuring in Creole. He sprinkled something in the fire, and the flames leaped blue. Screams sounded, of what, only Samuel knew. Polly ducked and held onto the nearest person, which happened to be Cissy.

The screams from Mal turned into much angrier things, screamed in Chinese. They seemed to be directed at Cissy. In fact, the beast inside Mal was screaming at her, wanting to know why she had sided with the mortal that had killed him.
Cissy just smiled and held Polly tight. Because you'd tried to eat her first, you stupid thing!

"Rete adv anba!" Samuel yelled at the creature, pointing. It wouldn't do to have it run off and eat some children.
Vic had closed his eyes by now, and begun to pray.
"I n demann ou nan pati ese moun, epi reyini ou k`o non Hea."

The beast wasn't going easy, that was for sure. He was screaming, completely enraged by now. Whatever it was, it was old, and it was very angry. Mal was trying to push it out, or at least make it shut the hell up, but neither was working too well.
