Jane didn't understand the purpose of the outing. So long had his first days kept him within the confines to their quaint little appartment that he was almost tempted to dart right back in. He had actually tried, but had been snatched up by one of Withrow's hook-like hands. Lucky for him, he was a bit sturdier than he looked, even for a toddler.

The same went for Withrow- she had bared him under her arm all the way out here, albeit grumbling all the while. He was heavy, even for a child. After all, he was already baring the weight of stone wings and tail, and his hair wasn't all that light either. Uncerimoniously dropped into a beautiful little wire garden chair, he sat next to Ms. Withrow, watching as his guardian unhooked a kettle from her cane and began to set up china cups she had brought in her purse. They were pretty things, blue and white, from a time far before his own, perhaps even Withrow's own.

Aside from watching as she set up her single tea-party, and the bare twitches that he could not stop, Jane sat perfectly still and silent. He didn't want to chance incurring her wrath, especially not when her lessons of 'love' were so painful. Even when she began to pour the tea, half in the cup, half spilling over the side onto the small garden table and saucer, he merely stared. She assumed him to be enjoying the scenery- that was half the point of coming out into the compound's garden.

If Jane and Withrow were silent and seemingly still, then Sethos and Tabia existed to create contrast.

Oh, it shouldn't have been that way. The tall, austere fae was, after all, his usual silent and reserved self. He took long measured steps into the garden, and his amber gaze was level, perhaps a bit thoughtful.

It was the thing in his arms that created the disturbance. Tabia was a squirming, giggling ball of color. She had a sand colored snake in one hand and a green marker in the other, and she was insistantly trying to cover the snake in said green. The snake was less than interested, slithering through her fingers and up Sethos's arms, which only left Tabia giggling harder and waving her arms up toward it in delight.

And then Sethos would sigh, and the snake would slither back down again, and the process would begin again. By the time they reached the garden, Tabia, the snake, and the front of Sethos's silk shirt were all liberally colored with green, though none of the little group's members seemed particularly concerned by this fact.
