Well we used to have that AYGGS Loves you thumbs up award thing and I think we should continue on with that. Good threads are few and far between, but a little recognition would be nice for the few that do pop up Post your Links here Maybe when we get the Horrible Gaian awards up and running, we could also get these back up again too I started this because I didn't feel it belonghed in wyrd's thread)

That journal had me laughing from the very first line. Which is all well and good, because that's all I got to read. Will do so... whenever.
Whoever wrote that should be given honorary membership to this guild, like. Genius.

Even though it's well-written and the descriptions of the characters are good, the kitten story is way too Jhonen Vasquez for my tastes.

As a person who has always liked cats and owns a cat of his own, I do not enjoy that post... at all. mad

Really well-written and amusing, honestly, until the kitty dies. WHY GOD WHY? NOT TEH KITTIE!! crying In all serious-ness, the ending does distress me...

ya well the ending is kind of a bummer; but s**t happens. don't get me wrong, I love cats and kittens. they hold a special place in my heart . in fact, my cat just died and I'm absolutely heart broken... but really, did you guys read any of the other entries? go ahead and take a little look. her whole journal is great. :3

I read her other entires and they were all hilarious! She definitely has a talent for the funny. Her roomates must be great source material.
And for the record, I found that whole entry to be funny. Call me sick and twisted or what have you, but it was cosmically funny in an ironic sort of way. Yes, I am an animal lover, yes, I have had cats as pets before. I'm just more of a dog-person.

I get the impression her journal is entirely fictional and her "roommates" are all made-up characters.

Peppy the Pirate I get the impression her journal is entirely fictional and her "roommates" are all made-up characters. This sentence is the beginning of an entirely new discussion, one of internet metaphysics if you will. It poses the question: is everything we say about ourselves online truly real? Because total anonymity is what is most wonderful about the Internet. You could assume that she makes up her roommates, just as easily as I can assume that, say, BlackRavenWyrd is actually a chick in real life or that Gemstone is actually an axe-murdering maniac. I'm getting ahead of myself. This is for another time. Potential fabrication and disturbing tales aside, (s)he is a good humourist writer. There is much potential in this one.

What made me laugh the most was the last sentence.
Seriously, it's witty and well-written.

I got about two sentences in before I decided I didn't care enough about it to read it all.

Matty I got about two sentences in before I decided I didn't care enough about it to read it all. Same here. I spent a few seconds wondering where the first image was from and if I should know what it's from, then got bored by the end of the little intro about the roommates.

Then you missed the potential pun. Which, unfortunately, the writer didn't have the cojones to add. Or, perhaps, puns just aren't funny...
