Unfortunately for me, I was sucked back into Lab 305 after lurking a very long time ago, and now have decided to try to quest for one of these wondrous creations.
Any and all input would be greatly accepted and appreciated, as critique can only help one improve. introduction || fel essence || soul || raeven || guardian || failures + hope || possible funds || credits

Current Essence UNLUCKY CLOVER
. . . I'm looking over a four-leaf clover, that I overlooked be-fore . . .
Upon finding a four-leafed clover, one would assume luck may be on their side. While at first it may seem so, this is hardly going to be the end result for whomever bears this essence.
At first the cases of bad luck seem to be something mild, such as stubbing a toe which in turn causes a person to drop whatever they have in their hands onto the ground and therefore ruin it, to annoying things like reaching for an item and knocking a glass of water onto term papers or a very pricey laptop. Generally such things could be classified in with carelessness, until it should be noticed that the string of 'bad luck' started to deal into situations that couldn't be done through human standards. Those will good reflexes can usually avoid trouble, however . . . .
Secondary Essence ARGUMENTATIVE ECHO
You said good-bye . . . when I clearly said hello!
Echos are a fun thing to make, everyone does in them in places from empty rooms to massive canyons, so what happens when your echo...doesn't really echo back?
At first considered a prank that often could lead others to believe someone else was shouting a response, it became something unnatural when the speaker's own voice shouted back a phrase that clearly hadn't been spoken before!

Soul o1 SHEEPDomestic sheep (Ovis aries) are quadrupedal, ruminant mammals kept as livestock. Like all ruminants, sheep are even-toed ungulates, also commonly called cloven-hoofed animals. Although the name "sheep" applies to many species, in everyday usage it almost always refers to Ovis aries. Domestic sheep are the most numerous species in their genus, and are most likely descended from the wild mouflon of Europe and Asia. What I am hoping for is a black sheep which, by all standards, is the same as a regular sheep only with black wool due to genetics.Black Sheep THE ANIMALIn sheep, whiteness is not albinism but a dominant gene that actively switches color production off. As a result, sheep blackness is recessive, and if a white ram and a white ewe are parents of a black lamb, both must be heterozygous for black, and then there is a 25% chance that the lamb will be black.
A recent study done by the Agricultural University of Norway, and The Vollum Institute of the Oregon Health Sciences University believe the black color is created by an allele E D at the extension locus.THE IDIOMBlack sheep is an English language idiom—usually derogatory—which describes an odd or disreputable member of a group, especially within one's family.
The term originated from the occasional black sheep which are born into a herd of white sheep due to a genetic process of recessive traits. Black sheep were considered commercially undesirable because their wool cannot be dyed as white wool can. In 18th and 19th century England, the black color of the sheep was seen as the mark of the devil.
In modern usage, the expression has lost some of its negative connotations, and the term is usually given to the member of a group who has certain characteristics deemed inappropriate by that group. introduction || fel essence || soul || raeven || guardian || failures + hope || possible funds || credits

Black Sheep + Unlucky Clover NAME : Ripley GENDER : Male
ESSENCE : Unlucky Clover SOUL : Black Sheep

PERSONALITY :
- virtues : always there
- vices : no touching, manipulative
FOOD SOURCE : Good luck - after eating, expends an amount of bad luck equal to good luck consumed - usually sustained for a while after eating luck, though depleted over time through steady and continuous leak of bad luck

to learn : - controlling amount of luck - designating a target for bad luck
- --- -
FOR FUN : Random odds and ends - trope : - theme music :

NAME : Hu Rong Wei
GENDER : Female
AGE : Twenty-five
OCCUPATION : Nail technician at her family's "Leaf Parlor", part-timer at a fortune booth (when needed)
RACE : Human
LIKES : Mah-jongg, cigarettes, really old spaghetti western movies, dependence, small children (?)
DISLIKES : Unwarranted affection, her current job(s), rude people
LOOKS : Rong Wei is 5'4'' and doesn't let anyone look down on her. With cropped brown-black hair that curls under at her chin she's not very dominating, not to mention she's a little portly in terms of her weight. While not excessively fat she's got more meat on her bones and actually looks rather well-filled for her small frame.
Preferring comfortable clothing, such as button-up shirts or khakis, she also sports a pair of broken black-framed glasses. She has never been one for earrings or jewelry, but she does pride herself in the manicured nature of her nails.
PERSONALITY : A bit on the rude and crude side, she comes off as rough around the edges and doesn't seem to get better with each passing encounter. With a sharp tongue that seems to belay her small stature, she's got a quick wit that isn't in short supply of use.
She is possessed with a strong sense of filial piety however, as she cares for her mother and father. A bit of a hypocrite in how she doesn't like to depend on or trust anyone, she enjoys being depended on heavily by others.
HISTORY : Her parents left China before she was born, this she speaks it as her main language but is fluent in English (and has no accent) thanks to American schools and pop culture. As the only daughter in a family of three children, she was expected to marry off as soon as she was of age but had a bit of a problem doing so thanks to her mouth and personality.
Taught a rough style of Muay Thai at a young age she dropped out from learning it at her own dissatisfaction with the martial art, though she is still capable of using some of it still in defense against unwanted affections or advances, instead moving on and picking up a knack for playing mah-jongg. This was something taught to her by her uncle who would later pass away, so she doesn't mention her lesson origins even when asked.
An average student in school, she didn't stand out due to her grades and managed to make it through to college, though she dropped out and came home to take care of her parents when her second brother left to start his own family.
Now, living at home and working two jobs, her love of mah-jongg keeps her occupied when she's not busy working or watching old movies at the local cinema.

SCRAPPED o1 ASH LIKE SNOWFound near a volcano that has been dormant for years, it falls out of the sky on the nearby villages one day without warning.
It is like ash in the fact of its texture and appearance, yet unlike ash it is not hot to the touch - it is freezing cold. It can be molded into a ball much like snow can, but when it is thrown it explodes into a cloud of dust upon contact. It leaves behind ash on your hands once through, but can easily melt if held for too long.
Walking on any layer of this 'ash like snow' causes clouds of dust to rise beneath your shoes, yet at the same time your feet grow wet and cold. How can this be. . .? SCRAPPED o2 PHANTOM APPLAUSEThere're rumors going around about sounds coming from an old abandoned vaudeville theater, sounds of an audience enjoying a show in perhaps full swing echo against dilapidated boards.
There is no stage anymore to sit in front of, and no seats to provide a resting place. Everything is overgrown, yet the sounds linger in the air so heavily its as if one could simply turn their head and be brought face to face with a sector enjoying his or her self.
How is it possible for the sounds of whistles and cheers, hand clapping and feet stomping to continue in a place so forsaken as this? - --- WRITING SAMPLES COMING SOONintroduction || fel essence || soul || raeven || guardian || failures + hope || possible funds || credits

Prices seem to be going up and down now with customs and flatsale issues, so I'm not really certain as to what I can say about this.
I know I am willing to give up my OMG hat as well as / or in place with several other things, so this post will be updated when things become far more clear.
Perhaps a RL as well, maybe maybe..... *too chicken to ask, ahahaha*introduction || fel essence || soul || raeven || guardian || failures + hope || possible funds || credits

I think your Ash Like Snow Concept is a little iffy....I don't know. I mean, it's not that hard for ash to seem like snow, and ashes aren't necessarily always hot, you know?
I don't think it really hits what makes a fel essence a fel essence. Your second essence is also somewhat close to Melisande's Divine Song essence, so I'd be a little careful if you were going to go after that one as well.
I hope that helps a little with refining your concept, good luck!

I'm going to have to side with Peachy here. Remember, fel essences are things that aren't suppose to exist for one reason or another. A lot of the time they are actual contradictions, like shadows that have nothing to cast them or light that exists with no source even in the darkest of places. Good luck!

I don't think I've seen anything that had to do with a clover yet. Coupled with your sheep soul I foresee a very Irish looking sort of Raevan coming into existence, hehe. I think it would be cute! 4laugh
I don't see any real problems with your concept as it's pretty simple to understand and works the way it needs to be considered an essence. Maybe cut the name down though cause I know Kyou usually likes essences to be three words or less. Maybe just call it Unlucky Clover and just mention it being a four leaf one in the description. Good luck!

SHEEP!
*cough* Now that that's out of my system...I like the pairing of the Soul and the Essence Rown. Especially the Essence as my mischief senses are tingling. I'm gonna agree with Ebony about the name though, two or three words for Essence names and 'Unlucky Clover' would fit the bill nicely.
Super good luck to you Sailor Salt! We must tag team this place up with our awesome! D8<
