She stood in the long grasses unpurturbed by the fact that there were predators out their waiting to chew on her butt, she was cocky, head strong and had always been that way, convinced that she could out hoof any lion, cheetah or leopard on the savannah.
Of course, chewing cud was boreing and somedays she longed for an adventure, for a near miss, bu it never really came, she just rolled through life, day in day out, watching the birds sing and the grazz grow, it was a monotonous exsistance really, what she really needed was some thing new, somethign interesting to happen.

He was running, not from anything, for a change, he was just running because his hooves and paws were happily carrying him in leaps and bounds through the grass. he was in a good mood. He'd managed to go the whole day without running in to his brother and on top of that he was convinced he'd managed to get this bouncing thing down. Antelope could do it with their slender front legs but his own, short and stubby, found it far more difficult to bound seamlessly over the savannah.
He was getting better at it though. Leaping in the air he spotted the stripped back of the klipspringer and stopped clip clopping through the long grasses with a smile on his maw. "Hello!" he squeeked his small tufted ears perking happily.

The klipspringer looked at this new arrival in to her area, being a rather large gal any way she could look down upon the cub, and look down she did, astonished.
"Wh..what the heck are you?" He looked like a lion, a very strange lion to say the least, but he didn't smell like one and she did not feel afraid, it was like looking at a fawn, one of her own fawns, even though she had none. It was an odd feeling. Raising a brow she took a step forwards.
"Who are you?"

The young god smiled, he never felt frightened or weary of his folk. It was strange he always felt confident around them, like he belonged near them even more than he belonged with his family.
Even her shocked splurt didn't upset him, he puffed out his slender chest and spoke in cheery tones "My anme is palahala, i am the god of prey beasts." he smiled, he was very proud of his domain at moments like this, when he faced one of his people,a nd she looked like such an excellent sample of one of them, she was fit, healthy and larger than average. She was perfect. Suffice to say he liked her immediately.

She smiled then, looking over the young cub, he was clearly proud of his domain, proud and loving. She could see it in his eyes and it pulled at her heart strings. Such a domain couldn't have been easy for a lion, after all they were natural predators, but this one, he wasn't really lion at all, he held so many traits from prey beasts.
"Well Palahala, my name is Zebadie, just a simple klipspringer." She smiles, looking over the little god, finding him less and less strange with each sweep, she wanted to nuzzle him like he was her own fawn.

"You don't look very simple, I think you're very pretty!" he smiled and lay down on the soft ground, happy to have found a friend amongst the grasses.
"Do you live around here? I don't think I'v ever seen you before, but I havn't been around for too long." He giggled looking up at the pretty klipspringer admireingly.

The stripped femme nodded "Well, I'v just mved here, i'v been wandering on my own for a while. This place is pretty nice though, maybe I will stay for a while." Lookign at the little cub she too lay slowly her tiny tail twitching, her ears swivelling to listen for any predators before she relaxed fully.
"And you, do you live here?"

"Oh I live here and there, with my parents and siblings.." he trailed off and looked around, the mention of his siblings made him a little jumpy" he calmed slowly and looked back to the pretty Klip springer.
"I like to come out on my own though, i like to spend time with the herds."

It didn't slip past the female that the cub looked frightened of his siblings. It confused her why would he be afraid of his brotehrs and sisters? "You seem worried, whats wrong?" She smiles, she almost fel like a mother to this little cub, no matter the species gap.

"Oh..well you see my brother, he's my opposite, we kinda butt heads." his ears flattened saddly, it wasn't that he didn't love his brother, it was that he was afraid of him. There was no other way to describe what he felt for the god of predators. "I'm worried he will eat me one day. "he sighs flickering his tail nervously.

"EAT YOU?!" The zebra stripped klipspringer asked, her voice full of surprise, her golden eyes looking worried. "He can't eat you, he's your brother!" She snorted and clopped towards the ltitle cub, her chest puffedout, it clearly worried him and she suddenly felt like an over protective mother.
"How about I come with you hmm? I'll protect you from your brother." she was perfectly serious, she felt like she mst protect Palahala from this brother of his.

Palahala jumped a little surprised by the Klipspingers reaction, he smiled ashamedly, perhaps his fear was uncalled for, but it was always there int he back of his mind.
At her request though his deep, doe eyes gazed happily at the female klipsinger "You would come with me?" he smiles puffing out his young chest. "I would be honoured if you would, I'v never had anyone want to stay with me before" he whispers, his soft brown eyes filled with an endless glee.

Zebadie smiled, it was like looking at a happy child, a happy child all of her own and she felt gleeful to have made him so pleased.
"Yes, i will come with you, and who knows maybe one day you will protect me hmm? You're bound to get much bigger as you get older, but until then I'll make sure this brother of yours doesn't harm you!"

The little god clambered to his paws and hooves and nuzzled at the female Klipspringer happily. "Thankyou Zebadie, i promise I'll do everything i can to make you happy, to make sure you're as safe as you make me." he whispers.
"Come, I should get back to my family, they will be missing me." he sighs turning to head back the way he had come.

Zebadie looked around herself, cautious for a monent, was she walking straight in to the lions den so to speak? She didn't care, she was going with Palahala, it almost felt like it was her destiny to follow him.
Odd, but she didn't want to leave his side, she was destined to be his protector and teacher, she just knew it.
