She sat back on her haunches, tail ticking behind her, as she waited. She was a bit surprised to hear that Tejasvi was now who she would be greeting upon her return. It just served to remind her how long she and Kamaria had been gone. Sparing a glance down to the cub that was trying to resist pouncing on her ticking tail she sighed slightly.

At least she was returning with something useful, even if it wasn't female. Kamaria's little boy would make strong cubs once he was older. The little girl was a different story, at least though she knew her place well enough for the moment.

She kept eying her other mother's tail as it twitched beside her. She reeeeallly wanted to jump on it but she knew the second she did she was going to get a good smack for it. She'd been told to behave once they were in the jungle. She just didn't really like it. They'd been walking forever and she was so bored. Scrunching her nose she looked around her at the few lions that she could see. They were all bright like her mothers.

She wanted to be like that ... she just wasn't. Mama had said something about sill being useful, she just couldn't remember exactaly what she had said.

The young, powerful Adhi-raj made her way towards the area where the matron (for that was what she was, even if she and her clan had long been gone) was waiting for her. It had been a surprise, though not an unwelcome one, when her scout had come bustling up to her, nearly ready to burst from the news. One of her mother's lionesses had returned home after so long, now that the plague no longer threatened their lands. It would be a warm welcome for them, though they would have to adjust to so many different things. Namely, to the fact that the pride was no longer ruled by either queen that they had known when they left. They had known both Tejasvi and Usha when the pair were cubs, but she assumed it would be quite a surprise to see them now, filling the positions of their deceased mothers.

Her eyes narrowed on the vaguely familiar lioness as she approached, head high, though not in the slightest way trying to intimidate her. It was more that she was simply trying to make herself remember the older lioness, for she'd been little more than a cub at the time she'd departed. "Kichaa," she called, dipping her head, knowing the name from what her scout had told her, though she probably wouldn't have been able to remember it on her own from her memories. Her eyes shifted swiftly to the cub at her side, no flicker of judgment on her face, though she quickly assumed that she didn't belong to Kichaa - she seemed far more similar to Kamaria, the other lioness she could remember of this clan, who had also returned.

A smile crossed her face as her eyes had once again spotted their lush homeland. Memories of their departure rushed at her and her heart was heavy with loss but still her smile remained for they had made it home again. She glanced down at the cubs that followed Kichaa, keeping them in line and following behind them to insure nothing bad would befall them.

Luckily they had made the journey and the children would grow up properly within the confines of the pride. With a gentle nudge she prodded her daughter whom had paused before her to sniff at a flower with a look that read 'not now little one'.

Blue eyes searched the colorful coats that she had sighted on the way in for anyone she might know or remember. A few colorations sparked memories but she couldnt be certain. So much time had passed. Her eyes moved to the blue lioness standing majesticly before them, head held proud and high. She grined fully, her face would surely crack if she smiled anymore, for they where home!

Ramla sighed as her mother tapped her and she continued forward with a light frown. That flower had looked as if it would smell delightful, surely only a quick sniff would not have caused any problems.

With a light pout she fell back in line with her siblings, occasionaly looking around at a bright flash of color that met her eyes to see that it was another lioness. She felt more muted here than she had with her own family, more dull in contrast. Looking down at her paws she wished that they would explode into color and become more deep.

Slowly they had come to a halt before a blue lioness, she looked up with gray eyes and slowly peeked around the side of her white and blue sister.

She bowed her head slightly to new Adhi-raj. "I am disheartened to hear that i did not make it home in time to see your mother before she passed but she has left the pride in good paws. You have grown up strong" Tejasvi wasn't the little cub that she remembered her as anymore. That spoke well for state of the pride now.

The borders had been patrolled well so hopefully that meant that the pride had recovered from the plague well enough. Hopefully that would mean that their numbers had grown and others had returned after being sent away.

She looked up at the blue lioness and for a moment wished that she'd gotten the luck to be born the color of her spots instead of white. Then she'd look more like whoever that was.

Tejasvi couldn't help the smile that spread across her maw, brought on by the uncontrolled joy on Kamaria's face. She knew it had to be simply from the fact that the clan was finally home, back in the shelter of the forest. She didn't even want to think about what it must have been like to have been gone so long away from one's home. Even if it was for a good cause, at the order of the queen, it must have been heart-breaking to leave this all behind for such a long time. "Kamaria," she said, as the second lioness joined them, dipping her head in greeting to her too.

Her eyes swept quickly over the two daughters that now sat there, taking in the colors of their pelts. She knew they were Kamaria's by their patterns, there was no mistaking, and though she knew the final judgment was to be left to the council once they were adolescents, there was little doubt that they were both too pale for the Rawal rank. The one might make it into Gasht, but only just. Behind them, she saw a smaller form, sitting back farther from the girls - brighter, but one glance told her it was a male. Good genes in him. She simply offered a smile to the small ones then, too, and let her attention waver back towards the matron.

"Mother passed giving birth to my sisters, weakened as she was by the disease that plagued the lands, but not before she taught me most of what she hoped to. I only hope that I can do her proud by running this pride the best I can with Usha," she dipped her head at the thought, a soft smile on her face. "It is good to see you after so long, especially with young ones in tow." She let her eyes flicker to them again, and then swiftly towards Kimaria for a moment. "My own little ones are in dire need of more playmates."

Rasui had sauntered obediently along at his mother's side, staying back farther from his sisters, especially since he knew they were going to meet someone very important. As they all sat, he stayed by Kamaria, sitting farther back from his more curious sisters again, shyly shrinking away as the eyes of the Adhi-raj fell upon him. He knew his place and had no qualms with it - he was content, happy with his life, with simply being Rasui. Now that they had come to the home that his mothers were always speaking of, that meant no more traveling, and he could finally be lazy and do nothing but play! Oh, the good life was stretching before him now.

Kamaria nodded slowly and reverently as Tejasvi told of her mothers passing. "The plague took something from all of us, but those of us that remain are stronger for it and will always carry them with is in our hearts." her words where soft with her lament and she fought back the tears that brimmed at her eyes. It was so good to be home now, but so much had passed.

She glanced down at her daughters with a small smile as they glanced around, she knew life would be different for them here but they had already began their teachings and she knew that they had the makings to improve their souls in this life and make up for past mistakes. She was sure that next time they would be more beatiful and viberant. Her eyes then feel upon her son and she lightly caressed him with the tip of her tail, he too would make great strides in this life time to better afirm himself.

"Hear that children, you have new friends to make. Rejoice for we are truely home."

Ramla looked up and smiled meekly at the blue lioness before looking back at her mother with a nod. Her tail flicked excitedly for a moment before she stilled it wondering if that was propper or not. She wondered what new friends would be like, she had only ever just been with her family. Did everyone here have colors as bright? A fear struck her then and she looked at her sister with a frown, would they be made fun of?

She didn't recognize the name of Usha but that didn't surprise her. The other lioness could be one she never paid mind to or could be one that wasn't born until after she had left the lands. They'd been gone long enough there would most likely be quiet a few new faces for her to get acquainted with, and see if they could bring her clan prosperity again.

"There would be more young but they were left with their father." She had to stop herself from sneering at the idea of the white male, he hadn't been all bad. He had at least given them a bright male to bring back with them. "Kamaria and i have enjoyed taking care of them." She looked over at her mate with a smile. "They've begun their teachings already."

The girls were not what she had hoped for, they were not vibrant like she'd hoped, but they knew their place. They were good girls and they would be an asset to the pride.

She wasn't quite sure what to make of the idea of friends and inched back toward her sister. Her mothers had explained to her a little of what would happen to her. She understood, she wasn't bright like them, but what would the others who weren't her parents think?

Kamaria's words made Tejasvi smile, though it was brimmed with the sadness of remembering her mother's passing. She had to remember that these lionesses were not yet aware of all who had been lost during the time of the plague and would yet be grieving over those who had passed in their absence. "I carry her in my heart and I hope that she looks down upon me with a smile on her face, for I know she was an honorable lioness." She had never doubted her mother's reign here, and thus, never once did she doubt that the gods had seen fit to pass her through into the afterlife. "I can only follow in her footsteps and lead the best I can." She offered another kind smile for Kamaria, seeing the tears that brimmed her eyes. "She would be very glad to see you return, both of you, especially with your daughters and son."

She spared the mentioned females a glance, then turned her gaze to Kichaa once more. "With their father?" she said with a small quirk of her brow, her eyes drifting down towards the little ones. Well, she couldn't say that it was odd to her - cubs were raised by their father here. The only strange thing about it was that they were split up, but she would not pry into the matter, for she assumed they had a good reason for such. "So long as they know the ways of the pride, I'm sure they will find themselves right at home," she said pleasantly, her quirked brow smoothing quickly and her smile returning. She didn't doubt these two - she knew they were strict in their teachings, or at least Kichaa was, that much she could remember. Their daughters, and son, would be perfect examples of the Kunanda life - which was more than she could say for some cubs here.

"Your clan is small enough that you should not have any trouble finding an empty copse large enough to accommodate you," she nodded again, her tail flickering behind her. She wasn't sure what copse had once belonged to their clan, but she knew nearly every clan in the pride was larger than this one, so if it was already taken there was little chance for them to get it back.

Friends. The word seemed foreign to him, but then Rasui had been the only male in his family for a very long time. His mothers had told him there would be other males in this pride, and for a split moment, his eyes shined brightly with the idea of having someone else to talk to. It was awkward to be around his sisters at times, for he didn't always know how to behave, but with other males it wouldn't be quite so frustrating. His attention was shifted away from his thoughts as his mother drew her tail tuft against his body, causing him to shiver involuntarily from the tickle, unable to help the tiny giggle. He bit it back almost immediately and glanced up at the queen with a frown as his ears lowered. He didn't know if she had heard, but he hadn't meant to do so if she had.

Kamaria glanced quietly at Kichaa and a shadow of a frown crossed her face for a moment. She wished all of her children had come with them on this journey, for though the male she had mated with had been pure white he was a good father and did give her a viberant son to pass on good genes to the pride.

At Tejasvi's querry she sighed softly. "things out there arnt as they are here." she stated and left the matter there unless the lioness wished to ask for further explination. She offered a smile though at the offer of a place for their clan. "Im sure we will find something that will work. We are home and that is really all that matters now." she said looking at Kichaa her smile bloomed to full force.

Ramla nuzzled up against her sister and burried her face against her pale fur for a moment. She was scared of wandering off in this place without her mother by her side and even more she was scared about doing something to cause disfavor. There where rules here, spoken and unspoken and her head was swiming trying to remember where the line was and not to cross it. She sat back on her haunches and looked up at the blue lioness again, she was someone her mothers show reverance too..so it was only logical she should also.

She nodded at her mates words. Things were far different outside the jungle than they were here. She was glad to be home, glad to be back where there was structure and where she could make sure things happened as she liked.

"I'm sure i can find somewhere comfortable to take up residence again." She generally liked to be in the thicker reaches of the jungle so there should be plenty of room for her and Kamaria. "So long as with your leave i have not lost my place as Matron" It did much for her opinion of Tejasvi as the head of the clan if she was willing to still honor her previous place in the clan. She could have forgotten that it even existed.

Tejasvi would be a fine lioness to follow. She could see much of her mother in her.

She nipped at her sisters ear as she nuzzled against her. She was used to getting ignored mostly so her mothers talking to the big blue lioness without much attention to her wasn't all that odd. She'd rather hide with her sister and brother anyway. She wasn't sure about all of this even if she knew her place.

"So I hear," she said with a slight frown as she turned her eyes towards Kamaria. She had heard her fair share of the outside world, the world beyond the confines and seclusion of their jungle, from rogues and returning members alike. She judged the lioness for a moment, her tail flickering, before she took the pair of them in with one sweeping glance. "There are a lot of things here that are not quite the same as when you left either." Though her composure was still perfect, her face calm, there was just the slightest irritation to the tone of her voice as she spoke. "I can only hope that with such a dedicated clan returning, perhaps you will be a good example to those that are.. straying." It was clear that this was a cause of concern for her, though the only physical reaction it induced was a quick thrash of her tail.

"It is your clan, no matter where you go, you are still its matron. I doubt there are more capable paws to lead it." She didn't remember much from her cubhood, but she had been taught by her mother and aunt after these lionesses had left, and she knew a good deal about each clan and their matron. She knew this one was highly devout to the way of the Kunanda'Nakhun life. That was a relief in itself and the fact that they had returned with this matron only put more ease into her form. "You do not understand how much it reassures me to have you back within our lands, the both of you." Her eyes swept over them again, even sparing a small glance for the cubs. They would be raised in their mothers' images - devout members.

It was with relief that Rasui realized the blue lioness didn't hear him, or perhaps had better things to worry about than reprimanding him for get-away giggles. He let his attention fall to his sisters, watching them silently from where he sat. He knew that this pride had many rules, fewer for him once he was older, or at least fewer to constantly think about. The only thing that really bothered him was that he would eventually be separated from his family. It was a sad thought, but maybe he would find a friend. He thought that idea sounded nice.

Kamaria was glad to hear that Kichaa would still remain the matron of the clan, she was slowly growing more at ease. The journey had been hard on everyone and to know that they where truely welcome with open paws was a great honor and relief. She knew that Kichaa wouldnt openly show it but she offered a smile at the news. "Thank you."

She watched the lioness' face turn to a frown, a shadow of trouble crossing her face. That was an expression Kamaria knew to well, one that she had hoped would not see so soon once in the pride lands again. She furrowed her brow lightly taking in the words and the flick of the blue lioness' tail. The plauge may be gone but something was still amiss.

"Straying?" She asked, the word seemed thick in her mouth. How could they stray from the ways of the pride.. just what had they been missing. She glanced at Kichaa with a worried expression, this news would not sit well.

Ramla smiled at her sister and layed her head against her back. She was trying to remain poised and attentive but the urge to play was growing and she wanted desperatly to be told that they could go. Her tail flicked lightly back and forth and for a moment she broke her attention from the adults to look back at her brother. He seemed to be doing the best at keeping his attention and pose.

She frowned at Tejasvi's words. No one had strayed before. She wouldn't say it out loud but the only reason she could think for that would be a light hand in keeping control. At least the other lioness seemed bothered by it so she knew that there was a problem.

"There will be no straying from the cubs or any else that choose to join Kamaria and I." She wouldn't stand for it. She herself had been raised under a heavy paw and she taught others that way. She had never been one to allow any to cross boundaries so long as they were in her presence. "You yourself should not stand for it. I know you have it in you to become what they need."

She mouthed at her sisters paw not being able to resist the urge to play with her sister anymore. It was boring sitting here. She knew she was suppose to behave but it was just too much. The adults were just talking and weren't paying attention to them anyway
PostPosted: Thu Aug 14, 2008 5:34 pm

"I don't doubt your ability to teach your cubs or to keep those who choose to join your clan in order," she said calmly, her face calm as she watched the lioness before her. She knew that she was strict, and that was one of the most reassuring things about her being back within her pride's boundaries. "I don't allow those of an age to be dealt with to stray, it is the younger generation that are troubling." Her brow furrowed, and she let out a soft sigh of irritation. She wasn't sure if it was due to too many rogues, or due to too many members having experience with the outside world. "Which would make one assume that problem lies with the parents." She shook her head, letting her gaze drift up slowly to the lionesses before her. "You would think that their honor would be enough to make them raise their cubs properly, but it seems that is not the case."

She let shook her head again, eyebrows furrowed for a moment more. "I will have to speak with Usha, but you can see the delicacy of this situation? Dictating how someone should raise their cubs is not always our territory - that is a matter of honor." It had been a long time since she had been able to talk to anyone, and she had a feeling this matron would be more helpful than most.

Rasui let his eyes drift away from the lioness and his mothers as he felt eyes on him, his gaze dropping to look at his sister. He quirked an eyebrow and tilted his head to the side at her curios gaze, then leaned forward to poke very lightly at her tail. His maw curled into a smirk, but he did little more than that - still sitting at his mother's side like a good little boy. He knew his place too well and the repercussions for stepping out of line could be worse for him than for his sisters.

Kamaria glanced betweeh Tejasvi and Kichaa, this was indeed a grave situation and one to tread carefully on. Telling a parent how to raise their children even by an Adhi-raj. "we have much to discuss it seems." she stated tenativly as she continued to look from one lioness to the other. "This is not a light situation and I can understand where you stand Tejasvi."

Her own tail flicked lightly as she drew it around her paws, her brow furrowed in deep thought. Kamaria was the type to sit back and study the options before choosing her actions when she had the time. "How long has this been going on" She asked, curious if that might help pinpoint the time a certain outside influance might have gotten into the mind of the little ones. "and how are they straying?" her mind simply couldnt fathom.

Ramla perked her ears as she listened to bits and pieces of the converstation. Her tail flicked against her brothers paws as she supressed a giggle. Her fluffy tail continued to flick playfully from side to side. The cub jumped as her sister started to nibble on her paw, she almost bounced back on her hind legs and pounced her but she caught herself and carefully settled down again. After a moment as to let attention draw away from her she moved her tail to smack her sister with it, flashing a devious grin.
