To say the place was dark wouldn't exactly be the right way to put things. All around, all one's eyes could see were black stretches of infinite emptiness; yet any definite objects appears in perfect clarity, though neither source of light nor beams of its bath were visible. It was as if the thing itself was illuminated by...well, itself.
Perhaps all were in endless free fall in this bottomless void. Or maybe all was still. It is even possible for the entire place to be tumbling, and there would be no way to tell for lack of reference points. If one tried to walk or run, their efforts might have produced motion, but for what purpose? It is impossible to tell if that was the case.
Upon arrival, each individual seemed to be by his or herself. The only thing separating them is distance; but how much of it? More importantly, would they try the seemingly fruitless wandering for long enough to actually run into others?

The tunnel of light pierced through the questionable ground of the infinite emptiness, temporarily shedding some of its light on the objects in the space.
Evelyn hovered for a few seconds within the tunnel, and was lowered before she could even comprehend what had just happened. The light faded and left her to fend for herself in this enemy of all that she was.
She quivered. "This doesn't look like a very fun game..."
She attempted to activate her soft glow, unfortunately, it was still limited to whether or not she was happy or content. She frowned. "Is this supposed to be like Hide and Seek? But in the dark?"

Daichi rubbed his eyes in disbelief. After stepping through the portal, he had expected to end up someplace that was well, more normal than this. It was almost like a void, but not at the same time. There were items here and there. Objects that he appeared and disappeared, and then reappear from within his line of vision. And there was no direct light source. Things seemed to be glowing on their own. And was he floating? Was there even a floor or walls here? He couldn't be sure, other then the fact that he was making no attempt to flap his wings to fly and yet he didn't really feel solid ground beneath his feet. What was this place, and where had that mysterious Stae woman gone?
The pale skinned boy, walked forward. Or at least tried. He couldn't really tell whether or not he was actually moving. But it seemed like it. It was hard to tell with no particular, non-moving object to focus on. Perhaps he should try calling out instead. "Hello? Is anyone here?!" he called into the darkness.

Evelyn jumped. The silence was deafening, so when she thought she heard even the slightest sound, it startled her.
'What was that?'
She breathed deeply in an attempt to calm down, and tried to convince herself that this was part of the game. It only half worked. But that was enough to trigger some more pleasant, and happier thoughts.
She closed her eyes smiled when she imagined Suki pawing at a plant on the balcony. The warm rays of sunlight kissing her face. She glowed from within and it projected outward, overlaying her skin in an iridescent glow.
Opening her eyes she started at her hands. "This is... Familiar..."

Daichi stared into the infinite distance. There was no answer. He sighed. Maybe Mocha had been right. Should he have stayed home? No, he couldn't have doubts or second thoughts now. He had to be optomistic. Perhaps this was some kind of test? After all, Strae had said that some sort of 'check-up' was involvled. That some of the illusionaries like himself had been born with 'faults', whatever those 'faults' may be. Anything was possible. And just as he thought this, a light caught his eye. This bright illumination was different. It stayed where it was. It wasn't ever-changing and disappearing like Daichi's surroundings. If he were to move toward it, could he reach his destination?

The self illuminating objects were making themselves more evident in Evelyn's peripheral vision. She swerved and the moment she reached out to grab it, the light faded.
She pulled her hand back, almost fearful of it now that she couldn't see it. She trekked along the infinite space, slowly and carefully.
Eager to see if anyone else was playing the game, she called out. "Ready or not, here I come!"
Immature? Maybe. Naive? Most definitely.

"Woah, woah.
"Who called?"
The voice originated from nowhere and everywhere at once; it was as if the entire space was reverberating with the waves of sound, yet at the same time indicating no concrete origin for the phenomenon. It was certainly bequeathed with an air of omniscience, although the voice itself is...not exactly what you'd expect an Important Thing (or God, for that matter) to sound like. He (that much was certain) seemed to young, either a fledgling man or a very grown-up boy. The tone itself suggested innocent curiosity that was too childish for even this youth.
He appeared (sounded?) to be taking a moment to assess what he had stumbled upon.
"Well, it's not like I'm supposed to be here, buuuut..." The innocence had been wiped clean off by now. Or maybe it had just been mixed with a smudge of a blacker something that should not be.
"Look what I found!" The voice finally declared with glee.
The dark emptiness is bleeding into a white blank.

Daichi an attempt to fly in the direction of the light. It was like swimming through space. And as he had called out, half-expecting no answer, he nearly had a heart attack when he hear a voice, seemingly out of nowhere and everywhere at the same time say 'look what I found!'
"Huh?" Daichi didn't have much time to contemplate this as the flood of darkness began changing, whirling into an empty white. "Who was that? What's going on?" the boy called out again. He was deeply confused, and the sudden change from darkness to bright blank ivory hurt his eyes. He rubbed them in discomfort. Was this what asylums were like? Just big, big, big white rooms of nothing. But there weren't any walls, at least he couldn't see walls. Maybe this was what they did to 'crazy' people; though Daichi didn't think that HE was crazy. In fact he was more or less the most sane person living back at the Manor in his opinion.
Was that the 'tests'? Walking through the portal-like a metal dector or in this case a fault dector? Did he fail because he had faults and was just going to be stuck here forever? Or was more coming? He rubbed his eyes some more and grunted in frustration.
As he finally got used to the brightness, he blinked a few times and this time took a good look around.

Evelyn shrieked when a strange voice came from the darkness. It declared it's findings and, as if to see her more clearly, sucked all the darkness with it. The opposite effect of spilling black ink of the finest white cloth.
The pure, snowy white burned at her oddly colored irises. She couldn't even fathom her new surroundings before she quickly brought up her arm to shield her eyes. However she forgot to dispel her own inner light, so when the arm was but inches away from her face, she only succeeded in blinding herself further.
She didn't know how far she stumbled back before her light dimmed, but it was enough to collide into another object. She tripped over her feet and fell sideways to the ground.
She mumbled, "Now I really don't think this is a fun game..."

Daichi yelped as something bumped into his back. His wings fluttered in suprise sending sprinkles of something similar to pink fairy dust all over the place. He tended to accidently release the glittery stuff when in sudden shock, whether it be in excitement or fear.
After, nearly tumbling over along with whatever it was that had knocked into him, he regained his balance and whirled about to see what it was. To his suprise he was looking down at a pretty little girl. Where had she come from? Had she been there right next to him all along? Or was she the source of the changes in coloration in this dimension? He couldn't be sure. But her appearence didn't match that of the voice he had thought he had earlier.
Out of politeness and shy curiousity, he held out a hand to help the girl up. "H-hello. Are you alright?" he questioned. Daichi was no longer really focused on his surroundings. If whatever had spoken was around or watching them even, he hadn't taken notice. ADD?-quite possibly.

"I should be in a second..."
Evelyn blindly groped in front of her until her hand found his. She pulled on it and hoisted herself up, her arm still covering half her face. She blinked her way back into clear vision and before her was a young boy. Probably her age.
Taking a closer look she noted his deep burgundy eyes and shoulder length red hair. It took awhile before she realized she was probably staring.
"Hello. I'm Evelyn, thank you for helping me up." she chirped, hand out and wings fluttering. Her usual shyness had been stripped, she'd been desperate for company and wouldn't pass up the opportunity of a new friend, even under such strange circumstances.

Of course Evelyn wasn't the only one staring. Daichi seemed to be doing the same without really realizing. This girl had wings too! How wonderful! Most other people he had met didn't have such handy appendages other then two of the folks he lived with. Out in the rest of the world, it didn't seem as common.
"Evelyn? That's a pretty name. Mine is Daichi. It's a pleasure to meet you," he greeted, offering a smile. It wouldn't hurt to make friends in strange times and strange places, especially now; when he was feeling he could most use a friend's reassurance and company.

The shyness. It was back.
She flushed a light pink. "Really? Thank you... I think Daichi's a pretty neat name too."
Desperate to hide her face, she looked over her shoulders and flapped her wings a couple times. "Oh yay. My wings didn't get damaged when I fell."
She turned back to face Daichi. "They're still pretty delicate. My mommy says I can't fly with them just yet. They're too weak to carry me."
She blinked a couple times, staring at the pink, lotus-like branches protruding from his back.
Her curiosity took over. "Those branches, on your back. Are they wings too?"
That was certainly new. She didn't know anyone outside of Illusions that had wings. 'Wait, maybe he's one too...'

Before Daichi had a chance to answer, however, someone else appeared in front of the two Illusionaries. It was quite certain that just a moment ago nothing else had existed in the expanse of white space; but this boy -- a boy of about 12, it seemed -- simply walked in front of them, as if out of a fold of a magician's invisible curtains. There was nothing far too remarkable about him: average height, slightly on the skinny side as is so oft with children his age, pale skin, a (very) likable face, hazel eyes, and a head of messy dark hair that strained against the laws of gravity. But he spoke with The Voice -- except the childishness is no longer restrained to the tone of voice but the sound as well. It was as if that 17-year-old from before had suddenly shrunk before he presented himself.
"I'm terribly sorry to have kept you waiting," he said with an easy smile and a polite bow. There was no trace of malevolence around him; nevertheless something did not seem quite...right. "Sisters can be such unreasonable beings sometimes. I will be your host for this visit, and I do hope things will not be a bore to you at any time." The boy bowed again, graceful as a trained dancer. "My name is December. Pleased to make your acquaintance."
Safely hidden behind his messy bangs, December's smile widened into something a little less friendly. The expression only lasted for a moment and vanished long before he straightened to face his "guests."

Evelyn squeaked and jumped back a couple feet at the appearance of another boy. Their was a ring in his voice that seemed familiar. She couldn't quite place it, but she wasn't given the time to.
His demeanor seemed far too old for his appearance, then again naive as little Evelyn was, she was polite as well. She thought nothing of it.
She smiled. "It's nice to meet you December. My name is Evelyn. And by sister, do you mean Ms. Kallistrae?"
