Johari was trying to become accustomed to the subtle changes of pregnancy once again. It had been some time since she'd carried their four daughters and she realized that in all the last months she had forgotten what it was like. As she brought herself to rest by the lake steps she just wondered what she should do next. She'd just been wandering the area having a talk with her uncle, but otherwise wasn't up to much besides checking on the nannies and things here and there.
She was doing this while she could, because she knew that once the cubs began to develop more it would be less easy to come and go as her body changed. Quietly Johari watched as the other members of the pride passed, sometimes exchanging greetings and a few short words, but mostly going on about whatever they were already doing at the time. Contently the queen-cat continued to sit on the way-side and watch.

Hakuna was no different from other pridemembers, going about their business. He emerged from the temple at the end of his classes and gave his head a shake. Where he came from, there weren't classes. Sitting through lectures was new to him, as was the absolute need to stretch after sitting still so long. He went through a series of stretches, taking care of his back legs and his fronts, and his claws and his neck, and... So on. He was in the habit of always being stretched out and loose, as a dancer, and it was no different here. He was taking particular interest in this pride's history, and the dances of its history. He'd have to give them a shot sometime.
In the meanwhile... He felt like going somewhere, and not back to the den that had been arranged for him. He meandered off towards the lake on a whim. When he got there, though, he was met with unfamiliar faces. Well, familiar, he'd seen them, but not talked to most of them yet. He wondered to himself where Ziwa could have been... but the answer was "obviously not here."
Then his eyes fell on the lioness lounging off on her own and recognized the face immediately- that was the queen of these lands! It'd be best if I was polite and said hi, and thanks... he thought to himself, a little nervous. Sure, back in the Nchi lands, he spent a time when his mother was second-in-command. And after that, it was his half sister. Neither of them were scary, he doubted this queen would be the same. That thought in mind- he padded over to her with a friendly smile. No need to be nervous, just need to be polite.
"Hello there, Johari!" he said with a dip of his head as he approached. As he walked, even still out of habit, his tail bobbed side to side in perfect rhythm with his steps. If it weren't for the fact that he'd just spoken, he'd be humming some tune. He'd memorized this name and face- of course. He hadn't ever had a chance at a casual conversation with her, though. "How are you today?" He asked.
