The sun beat down softly on the savanna that afternoon, and all was quiet.
Too quiet.
When things were so calm and peaceful, a certain Cheeton liked to cause some disturbance. Golden eyes swiveling around from her hiding place in the tall grass, she waited. For what, she didn't fully know. But something in the back of her mind lingered; a feeling of unease. Something was close by that wasn't usually around where she lived. She could sense movement...Somewhere...
It was getting closer...

Kinyago was lost, no doubt about that. He hadn't been wandering the Rogue Lands for long, and there wasn't like there were any major landmarks here. He hadn't even seen another animal to ask! He kept walking, he wished he hadn't wandered so far from where he made his camp for the night, what could he say, he got bored! He wanted to go out and see the world, but that was without realizing that he was still a little young.
He sighed, at least it was a nice day out... he saw some tall grass in the distance and decided to head there, it was nice and shady and he could think of what to do. He headed towards it, but stopped suddenly, he heard something, he could smell it too. It was a new scent though so he couldn't figure out exactly what it was.

A yawn escaped Akina's mouth, but it was mostly silent. She couldn't have anyone knowing where she was, oh no. That would defeat SO much of the fun. Besides, she was hunting for something.
An interesting scent wafted into her nose and she breathed it in. It was something she'd never smelled before. Tilting her head to the side in curiosity at the new smell, she stared ahead, waiting for something to come into her visual range.
Then, she saw it.
It was an--...What exactly was it? Akina stared, mouth open, eyes wide at the strange creature that fumbled around right in front of her. It looked like it had noticed it wasn't alone. A slow smile spread across Akina's face. Ah, of course. It was prey. Prey animals always acted like they were lost; bumbling around like fools. It was so funny to watch.
It must be an antelope, she thought. Akina narrowed her eyes, licked her lips, spread her claws, and leapt out from the grass, tackling the strange creature to the ground.

Kin walked as quietly as he could around this grass, it was very tall. So tall that he couldn't even see over it. He heard something next to him, but by the time he turned to look and see what it was... a tan/brown thing was flying though the air and landed on top of him!
"Ahhh! Whatareyoudoing?! Get off me!" Kin said very quickly and loudly. Whatever this thing was, it was about his size. He quickly kicked his legs to rid her of him, and he rolled to the side, in the attack position. "Who are you? Why did you pounce me!?" he said angrily.

Surprisingly, the creature put up a rough struggle and yelled a lot, eventually throwing Akina off of it. With a roll and a gasp, Akina was back on her feet. She was a fighter and she wasn't about to let some silly prey get the best of her. She whirled around to face her "opponent" and bared her teeth, trying to look menacing, and matched her body to his own attack stance.
...But her menacing face turned into a shocked smirk.
Eyebrows knitting upwards in her stunned what-on-earth-is-that-hilarious-thing look, she snickered. "Wow," she drawled, gazing up and down the small male's body.
"You're a stupid-looking antelope."

Kin stayed in his attack-stance, teeth barred as he watched the other creature do the same. Then it relaxed suddenly and spoke, he then realized whatever it was was female, and he practically face planted into the ground at her comment. "I am NOT an antelope!" he said loudly, "I am a wild dog, the best trackers in the lands. We hunt antelope, I know what they look like, and I am definitely not an antelope." he said, out of breath, but still in his attack stance.
"Well what are you? I've heard stories of lions, cheetahs, and leopards, and you don't look like anything I've heard of. And why did you attack me?" Kin wasn't usually one to get angry, but this was just weird, getting attacked out of nowhere by some strange creature?

Akina smirked. The guy was tough for something so tiny. But then again, so was she.
"Both my daddies are LIONS, okay~?" she stated, rolling her eyes. "But the woman who birthed me was a cheetah." she mumbled after a moment. "BUT THAT'S not important." With a flick of her tail, she got closer to the "wild dog", even though he was jacked up on the defensive.
"You sure have a big mouth for something so TEENY." she yelled, grinning. He was yelling so much, she felt the need to yell right back at him. At his last comment, a light laugh erupted from her chest. "PFFT. Attacked? That's not right." she said, stepping even closer. She stared into his eyes. "If I had attacked you, you'd be bloody and dead right now." she said, smirking. That should scare those "best trackers in the land" comments that kept bubbling out of him.

Kinyago thought for second, a lion and cheetah mix? Oh. Well then. Thats why he had never heard of an animal like her. He tensed a little as she got closer to him, he didn't know what she was thinking of doing. He snapped to when she started yelling too, he wasn't that small... "Hey," he said quietly, but he stopped when she continued. Despite what she was saying he couldn't help but stare at her... she was kinda cute.
"Well, Im sorry if I was yelling," he started, he released his tension and relaxed his stance, "I am actually not tiny for my species." he said moving closer. "And I bet if you wanted you could kill me, you are a good bit bigger," he said with a grin.

Akina took advantage of his growing closeness and butted heads with him.
"Well maybe we can FIGHT sometime!" she yelled challengingly, a grin plastered to her face. Her head pulsed from the headbutt, but it was a good pain. She was feeling giddy and playful. Besides, if he really WASN'T all talk, he'd make quite a good buddy, even though he was...Well, a species she'd never seen before. He was sort of nice to look at, in an odd way.
But she still sort of thought he looked like a stupid-looking antelope.

Kin was knocked back a few steps at the headbutt, but he made himself now fall, he couldn't show weakness! "Fight? Yeah sure, that could be fun," he said with a grin, "Just to warn you though cutie, just because you're a girl doesn't mean I'll go easy on ya," he finished with a smile.
That wasn't entirely true, he didn't think he could bring himself to ever hurt a girl, no matter what the circumstance. He rather run than have to hurt one; but he would by no means chicken out of a fight. He'd just have to hold back a little. He was surprisingly strong for something of his age and size, but that was just the energetic puppy in him. "So what are you doing out here all alone?" he asked.

Akina raised a brow at the name "cutie", along with him making some comment about her being a girl, going easy on her, etc. But she decided to shrug it off. It was FIGHTING time. She flexed her claws, raised her haunches and just when she was about to pounce--
He asked why she was there...?
WHAT THE--?
Completely taken aback, Akina stumbled mid-pounce and landed face-first in the grass. It took her a moment to recover herself. "Why--" she scrambled to her feet, gaping at him. "Why am I here? All alone?" she echoed him. "What kind of question is that right when a girl is about to fight you?!" she screeched, completely confused. It was almost like he was concerned or something...

Kin watched as she crouched down and flexed her claws, she wanted to fight now huh? He sighed, well alright, if she wanted too... but then she stopped. Like really suddenly. He eased up and looked at her curiously, "Whats wrong?" he asked.
He continued to stare as she looked like she was having an internal battle with herself, "What kind of question is that? Just a general one I guess," Kin said with a laugh, "Can't I have a conversation with you? Or are you only concerned with fighting?" he said with a grin. "Maybe Im worried that you're out here all alone or something and need rescuing," he said moving a bit closer.

"A general one, huh?" Akina questioned back, rubbing her pulsing forehead with a paw. She threw her paw back down to the ground and wriggled her rump playfully in the air. "And you're right about that; I'm pretty much just...Umm....Um...CONCERNED with fighting right now. I mean," She scratched her claws in the dirt, flicking her tail in the air. "What else am I supposed to do when I meet someone who looks just like an ugly antelope?" she said, grinning. She wasn't sure what his plan was, but she definitely knew she was in no need for rescuing...For now, anyway.

Kin looked at her with a confused look, was she ok? She kept rubbing her forehead... "Hey, your head alright?" he said with concern, he really didn't want to fight someone if they were injured.
He watched as she got ready to attack, she was smiling of course, so she still just wanted to play. He got kinda ticked at her comment though, "I am NOT an ugly antelope!" he said angrily, "And I don't want to fight you if you're hurt, and I don't like fighting girls either..." he said quietly.

"Don't be such a sissy," Akina scoffed at his comments. "Not all girls are girly, and not all males are...Male...Y. Okay?!" She began to get frustrated with her own manner of speaking. Why was it so hard for her to get certain words out?
"And I'm not hurt, either." she said airily. "It's just a little bump. I'll live." she snorted and raised her chin, putting on an impressive posture. "I bet you're scared of fighting a girl because girls are so much better than boys." Akina said tauntingly, jumping from left to right in front of him playfully.
