Wanted: Minions!
About Obeah: He was raised by his sister, Cihaucoatl, so I suppose to know about Obeah you have to know about her. Cihau isn't overtly malicious or evil, but to say she's sane is a gross understatement. She spends most of her time in her own world inside her head, rarely connecting much to the real world - mostly by choice. In the real world she's the slightly plain, slightly crazy, highly forgettable member of Anju's loose family group. In her head, she is grandiose: beautiful, bejeweled, respected royalty. The real world bores her, and she knows she's looked upon a freak, so she prefers her other world.
So when Tara dropped her future-brother's basket at her feet, she didn't quite know how to be a 'mother.' She didn't s how the basket any animosity or affection, just indifference. She carted it around like one would a handbag or a purse, keeping it dry and fairly warm, but not much else. Turns out, however, that’s all it needed, and out came Obeah. Well, it would eventually be called Obeah, at least. It was actually Sabin who named it when he learned Cihau had yet to call it anything even though the colt was several weeks old. While she wasn't any more affectionate to the foal as she was to the basket, she wasn't neglectful of its needs. When he was cold she would let him curl under her wings. When it was hungry she led it to food. And on the nights where he couldn't sleep and was restless, Cihau would lull him to sleep with stories of the world she saw in her head.
Despite the questionable parenting, Obeah grew up rather precociously. He was independent and smart, and learned to take care of himself. He was quiet, too, like his sister, also building a different world for himself (and her) in his head. Though unlike the indifferent Cihau, Obeah was driven by a determination to make that world a reality. As he got older he would disappear for days, searching out the perfect spot. As adulthood encroached, his obsession with his New Order and becoming King of a new Realm, and making Cihaucoatl his Queen, rang through every essence of his being.
And now Obeah has found the groundwork for what he wants to make his kingdom. Deep in the swamplands, he found two large stones. Wedged between them was a skeleton of a long dead Soquili who had snapped his or her leg in the soft, murky ground. Intrigued, Obeah found that when he disturbed skeleton, a snake coiled up inside the skull lashed out, biting him. The snake was non-venomous, but Obeah saw it as a sign. As the imaginary venom coursed through his veins, Obeah saw the marsh around him transform. The dreary swamplands transformed into lush, green jungles; black crows' caws and frogs' calls became a symphony of exotic bird songs; and the two stone tablets warped into giant, throne-like alters. A peace settled over him, and he knew he hand found his new home.
Obeah took Cihau there at once, and for the first time in her life, she felt a connection with another Soquili; one who truly new who she was.
So, where do you or your Soquili come in?
Obeah and Cihau are open to the possibility of other Soquili joining their 'Kingdom.' Obviously not just any Soquili would see much possibility in the dreary patch of land they call home. But if they were willing to let themselves feed off their King and Queen's delusions, Obeah and Cihua would make room for them. Obeah might be mad, but he expects to be treated as a King, so any Soquili living in their lands would need have a subject's respect and dedication to the 'ruling' family.
Oh, Obeah loves snakes. A lot.
EVENTUAL PLOT:
Eventually, Obeah would want to give Cihau an heir to their throne. Cihau knows her brother's affections for her often skate the thin line of decency, but she keeps silent on it (most of the time), because regardless of his true intentions, Obeah is precious to her, the only other Soquili she would consider having any sort of relationship or understanding with. Obeah adores his sister, but between his jealousy and Cihau's aloofness, the chances of her becoming pregnant with foals are slim. Obeah himself knows that another mare could never take his side as Queen as long as his sister in his life... therefore the idea of an heir to their "throne" is a difficult situation.
Obeah, then, is developing a plan. He will go out in the world, once his sister is established in their new home, and find a mare he would deem acceptable. He will have foals with her, and when the time comes, steal away back to his Kingdom with at least one of the baskets to present to Cihau as a gift. Obeah is perfectly willing to be as deceitful as he needs to be to make this happen, but not violent or forceful. Obeah would believe that a child born from a violent union might have a taint to his soul, so the coupling must be mutual (even if it’s a fraud, in his mind the spirit of the unborn foal would not know the difference).
So, I'm also looking for people who might be willing to put their mares up for this plot. Anyone considering must understand that any affection Obeah would show towards the mare would be more than likely be false, as the mare would be used as a means to an end - so mares not looking for heartbreak need not apply!
OOCly, I would prefer a mare that would look mix well with his genes. Any race is acceptable, and at least an edited mane or tail would be preferred (but not required). Anything will snake or reptile, voodoo, WoW Troll, or South American themes would be highly preferable.
So... if anyone's interested in plotting with Obeah, please post biggrin I'm also open for other plots not discussed here of course!
