 Gracie had been sitting outside on a stoop. She was eating yet another popsicle. These tasty frozen treats had been her saving grace all summer long. It was all she could do. Being a cat, she didn't want to go swimming in water, but it was gastly hot and humid. What better way to cool off than with frozen yummies?
She had been sitting there when she thought she saw someone familiar walk by. It was only after a few minutes of unintended staring did she realize why. It was that fox she met when she was new there. She remembered him once running off with her mischeviously. Not much happened that time. He seemed to have just ran off with her to look for some fun idea, but it didn't go much anywhere too exciting.
She remembered someone random pass her to tell her he had a mate. Not that she had been looking to be his mate.. or .. anyone's mate for that matter.
Still... She watched him pass. It felt like a long time since she had arrived at the pound. Her tail started to curl and flick behind her as she pounced up on her feet, trotting over. "Eric... Is that you?? Hey!!!"

Eric had been sulking. Tressa had yet again had a fit and announced to everyone near that she hated him. He perked up, though, when he heard his name. Turning he saw a young cat running up to him. He stopped and put his hands in his pockets.
"Hi there, Gracie. How are you?" he said once she had caught up. He saw her holding a popsicle. It was dripping on the ground. "Hey, your popsicle's melting." he said.

Gracie blinked her eyes and looked down. Drat! She hurriedly stuck the whole thing in her mouth, and she pulled the stick out clean. She covered her mouth with her other hand, so he wouldn't have to see her mouth full of popsicle. She started to giggle excitedly. Though after a few moments, she pulled her hand away having swallowed it.
"Oh, I'm doing great! Well.. sort of great.... I'm actually pretty bored. Apparently I have that problem sometimes lately. What are you up to? OMG! I'm totally stoked it's you. We should take a walk or something. "
She smiled up at him with a friendly grin.

Eric blinked at her, but then started to chuckle. It was funny watching her. "You're glad to see me?" he asked. "Well at least someone is. Sure, let's walk. What have you been up to? I haven't seen you in a while."

Gracie's tail spiraled in and outward. It was a slightly unusual characteristic for a cat rather than just hte side ot side swishing. She was feeling mildy exciting. She actually hadn't seen him.. since she heard he had a baby girl. That had been a while ago. She suddenly felt a tad bad about that one.
She smiled and turned to the side to start walking along with him. "Oh... well, I got a roommate. Also, this girl moved in on our floor. She does some kind of modeling or something. Anyways.. she thinks she's super hot stuff. She tries to trick me into doing ridiculous chores for her. I have been trying to avoid her though."
She looked at him. She was very excited and happy to see him. He was exactly the breath of fresh air she needed.

"She sounds like a snob." Eric laughed. He smiled down at he as they walked. It was nice to have a conversation with someone that didn't hate him or annoy him. "Nothing much has changed with me I guess. I had two kids, but I don't get to see them that often." he sound, looking straigh ahead again. He also sounded a little sad.

Kids... That thought lingered briefly in her mind. She knew whenever she heard about other people's kids. She was definitely not planning to have her own any time soon. She was just starting to meet and date boys. Having little gracies running around was certainly out of the question for her.
"Aww.. That does sound too bad, but I'm really glad I saw you. I feel like I haven't seen you in forever. So.. I wonder.. If it's ok to ask... did you marry the other person you had babies with? Unless that's too personal to ask.. I'm just curious..."
She was curious. She remembered the first time she met him. He seemed so flirtatious then. She found flirtatious guys easiest to get along with above everyone. She wasn't sure why; but it seemed like it took less effort to get along with them.

Eric looked down at her with a slight smirk. "Why are you wondering? Afraid I'm no longer open?" he chuckled and winked. "No, Saki isn't my mate yet." He put the very slightest emphesis on the word "yet".
"How 'bout you? Any special comeone's in your life at the moment?" he asked. His tail swyaed slightly as they walked. As he talked he could slowly feel the tension in his body go away.

Gracie smirked a little. She cocked a side grin to look at him, but she followed it up with a giggle that couldn't be contained. "Oh... no way. No special committed relationships for me thanks... I prefer to not limit my options that way. I'd rather just kick back and relax. I hope to date a lot of people before I ever settle down."
She shivered at the term "settling down". If anyone had noticed, they might have seen all her hair stand on ends. Obviously it wasn't just children, the very idea of committment wasn't very accomodating in her eyes.
"I mean... I'm young. Why should I bury my life in silly notions of romance. I'd rather find some hot guys or something. I did finally have my real first kiss. It definitely wasn't what I had expected." She completely side stepped the point of why she had been wondering if he had a mate yet.

"Sounds like you know what you want from life, very smart," Eric said. "Do have to admit, though, I would have expected you to have your fist kiss long before this. I expected it shortly after meeting you. Look at you, you're cute and outgoing. Why'd it take so long?"

A bridge of pink ran across the bridge of her nose. Due to her light and pale shade of fur, it was probably pretty obvious about the blushing. Her blush came from his question about why it wasn't sooner.
"Well.. it took me a while to meet people. I was feeling kind of shy. I guess I grew out of the shy behavior because I jsut got too bored and lonely."
Then, she looked up at him smiling sheepishly. "Not sure how cute everyone finds me though. I haven't exactly earned any kind of epic pimping liscence or anything." She looked sideways at him again, a faint glint of mischeif suddenly flickering in her eyes.

"You are cute, that's why I first started talking to you when we met," Eric said. "Besides, you don't need a pimping liscense. You have a certain. . . charm about you." He finally looked down and saw her blushing and started laughing.
"Now don't tell me I caused that! I thought you got over being shy?" he said with a big grin. Then he reached out and patted her head. "You weren't shy when I first met you. You invited me to stroke your fur, I remeber."

Her eyes narrowed in their cat like way. The devious glint was there again. "Oh.. you're right. I almost forgot about that. That's a standing invitation. You could touch it again too if you want."
It was said carefully, quietly. She peeked out the corner of her eyes while still walking to see how he responded. Her previous blushing had already passed. Though she did notice that he made her comfortable. This was much easier than some of the other situations she had.

"Mm... it might be more of a case where people have done it; however, it was so dissatisfying to me... I haven't asked them to do it anymore. I mean... not all touching are nice touching. Even some bad touching is nice if done right... hard to find people who realize the difference..."
She looked sideways at him again. Her tail began to swish more again. Her tail wrapped around the side of her waist and down her leg a bit. She crossed her arms as she was feeling a tad more confident. Impulses... ticking...
