This is a private roleplay for Celeanors's Bonfire and Lady Evelyn Nyht's Vidia; open for Paramekia Darkheart's Ambroise to join.

In the plains.

User Image It was difficult to make out the pale mare that had been following the sunrise stallion out in the plains. It seemed her pelt suited well for the flat grasslands, but she disliked how bright the sun was because of the heat. There was very little breeze blowing now, almost creating a suffocating atmosphere.

But her anger was still bubbling just barely under the top. Oh, yes, she was still very upset that he would be so rude. Which explained why she was still following him. It was a promise to herself that she would make him apologize and follow him to the ends of the earth. Underneath that anger though, she was beginning to fear that he wasn't sure of his destination. At night, she left him well enough alone, not speaking much to him in case she said something she might regret.

Why should she worry about that? She gave a soft snort and shook her head, trying to make sense of just what under the skies she was thinking! Nothing made sense, but then Ambroise was exactly aware that he talked to himself a lot under his breath. Maybe that was contagious? Another snort of disbelief, her cyan eyes focused mostly on the bright spot ahead of her.

Seconds thoughts were not the kind of thing the dark mare pictured herself having.

No, she considered herself a rather thorough person, and had figured that no matter what happened, she would at least feel confident in her first choice. Naturally, it could be said that when she said yes to Killian's proposal last fall that had been her first choice.. but recently she had just been trying to convince herself that she hadn't acted with all the information needed. Which would, of course, void out her choice entirely and let her proverbially off the hook.

Right.

But then why was she having second thoughts about a decision that had (to her way of thinking ) been taken from her?

Dammit.

Shaking out her short mane, Bonfire paused her in aimless wandering and took a moment to survey the vast grasslands she had recently begun to traverse. It was damnably hot, and with her rich black coat, she was beginning to have still more seconds thoughts about this little expedition. Blinking her deep golden yellow eyes, she vaguely wondered if she were also seeing things.. or if the ground really was rippling off in the distance. Blinking again, she also wondered if such hallucinations was phase one of some terrible disease, and on that note.. was she really seeing a ghostly pale soquili?

Great, Just great. Ground that moves, and ghost horses.

She let her gaze drift momentarily from her quarry, flickering to a darker speck. It looked like another mare, but this sun had to be even hotter to her than Vidia. She didn't notice the splotched markings, but that she was so much darker than her.

She glanced between Ambroise and the new Soquili, but decided she'd be able to catch up to him in these flatlands. He wasn't that hard to spot, she thought honestly. And she needed a break from her anger.
"You look lost."

In truth, the mare did seem to be lost in very deep thought. She idly wondered if she gave that same appearance whenever she was in her deep musing. But more than that, it appeared that the other one was questioning something and completely unsure of where to put her hooves.

Logically, Bonfire first attempted to ignore the 'ghost horse' that had suddenly appeared much closer then she had first thought. Likewise, she also tried to ignore the far off rippling horizon line.

But then, illogically, the 'ghost' spoke, and Bonfire found herself unceremoniously ricocheted back into an unusual reality where mirages could communicate quite plainly with the substantial.

Or was she the mirage to this pale soquili mare?

Blinking her amber eyes owlishly, Bonfire could only stare at the mare, torn between admitting to one reality or the other.

She definitely seemed to be out of her elements in this kind of heat, Vidia noted from the slightly glazed look in the mare's amber eyes. She moved instantly over to the other's side fearing that she might pass out or worse. "You don't look so good," she said quietly. "Perhaps you should lay closer to the ground until the heat of the day has passed."
