Weeiiirrdd I was JUST thinking of posting something like this yesterday.
There's two bodies, that's a lot of work for only one heart. And what about lungs? Just two, or four? I'm thinking all of the organs would be doubled to make up for the two bodies. Of course when it comes to the bladder and rectum and...other stuff down there, I think there's only one.

It would look a little more like this, as we have hooves not feet. http://www.tetragrammatron.com/fruitimages/centaur.jpgheart...prolly in the horse part...because we need a bigger heart for running...and for the bigger body. I would guess the lungs would still be in the human part but would be much bigger...taking up most of where human organs usually are. I think most of the organs would be in the horse part.

Interesting. I guess I always assumed a centaur was something like a siamese twin, two things joined together, with their own organs except for where they're joined.
If they there was only one set, wouldn't there be a lot of...empty spaces?

I recently read some scientific exploration of mythological creatures, specifically centaurs. They do have two of nearly all organs how ever one brain and one set of reproductive organs.
Two stomachs Two sets of lungs Two intestine that connect Two hearts Two sets of kidneys
obviously it can't be known for certain, duh, but it was well done, I'd go by it.

Yeah that's what I thought. It makes sense. Like I said before, it's like siamese twins, only without two heads.

"ARRGH! Aw, I wasn't using that lung anyway!"

It's also good to know so one can know what type of armor they want their character to wear, what vital organs they need to protect, etc.

It could, but bigger implies heavier, which means the two bodies would have to adapt and become sturdier and thicker, which could give problems in the joints and bone structure in general, arthritis for example.

Double everything... But what about organs that would be in a horse's upper body or neck? Where would they be?
