Name : Joseph Jordan O’Reilly Gender : Male Age : 15 Year : 5 House : Ravenclaw
Ethnicity : White/Irish Hair/Eye Color : Dark Strawberry Blonde with light Emerald eyes Physical Description: Joseph is the spitting image of his father. Humorously, sometimes in the village, some thought Joseph was a ghost of his father as a younger boy. A tall lean boy, muscles slightly devolping, Joesph is covered in freckles and upon his face are small dimples- which he'd gotten from his beautiful mother.
Pet : A Wren named Daniels. Daniels is a dark tan, with black on the underside of his wings. The Wren is considered the King of Bird’s in Ireland. Daniel is less than intelligent, to be put kindly. Always flying into walls, or not able to fly all, yet his clumsy personality fits perfectly with Joseph's odd personality, and at times helped others start a conversation with him.
Home Life : Home’s always been Termonfeckin, Ireland. A small village lying in a wooded dip half a mile from the shore, Joseph’s really known no where else. Growing up poor with a single mother, Joseph skipped out on schooling frequently to make a little extra cash. His mom didn’t know though, because Joseph managed to sneak it into the mail box- making it appear like a random donation. His mom always hurried to St Feckin's Church monthly when the “donation” arrived, bringing along an exhausted Joseph with her. His mother, a plump woman of 45, worked in a bakery and always smelt of the uncooked dough. His father would now be 45 as well, a fine wizard if Joseph had ever met one. Magic wasn’t something unusual to Joseph, his mom also being a witch. Yet, his mother neglects her magic, living more like a muggle.
Brigid Claire O’Reilly: A plump woman of 45, Brigid is Joseph's mother. She had a similar hair color to Joseph's but her's was a little lighter. Her face, shaped like heart, was covered in freckles and like Joseph had small dimples. Joseph found her as one of the most beautiful women, yet his opinion was slightly biased. A strong Catholic women, much stonger than Joseph, Brigid constantly visits the church, finding it to have become like another home. She loved Brodie, Joseph's father, greatly and hated to loose him. Working a muggle job, trying to escape from magic, the bakery has been able to provide a living for both her and Joseph, and even gave her a bonus for going to a private university, looking highly on education- except they had no idea what kind of school he'd been getting. A woman who grows lonely fast, Brigid constantly sends Joseph embarassing letters at Hogwarts, just trying to have a way to keep in contact with him. She's worried sick when year seven will come too soon, and marks off the days glumly.
Diving deeper : Living rather secluded from society, Joseph really lacks social skills that other students appear to have grown up with. Despite the lack of social skills, Joseph always embraces new people with warm welcome, blame the Irish accent- some find it charming. Yet, at times, nerves do get the best of old Joseph- making him seem odd when he bursts out with random factoids when he grows nervous. Being unable at times to attend school when he was younger, Joseph continually reads- mainly those novels of fiction from the muggle world. Truly, Joseph will immerse himself into the stories- comparing his life to them constantly. Despite all his odd qualities, Joseph manages to stay loyal to himself and his mother, along with any friends he manages to pick up along the way.
Taking a closer look : Beep. Beep. Beep. Joseph reached his hand over to the nightstand lazily, pushing the snooze button gingerly. Yet, the sound didn’t silence. Groaning, Joseph rolled onto his side to look at the clock. At first, Joseph assumed he’d read wrong, yet after a few blinks ands rubs of the eyes, the clock still read 5:03am. Most students would be eager to leave their homes for another year, returning to their home away from home- but Joseph wasn’t as eager.
In his cage, Daniel went crazy with annoyance from the beeping which still filled the usually quiet air. Joseph groaned once more, sitting up, letting his battered copy of Siddartha fall onto his lap. He’d obviously fallen asleep reading again. His room was still dark and lacked a light switch to illuminate it. In the corner was one small lamp which was still on from last night, but it was rather pointless. It was only there to guide him to his bed in his small dormitory. Pressed tight against the wall nearby the lamp was a beaten up desk, which was filled with books he’d read. In corner was Daniel, continuing to fly around like a bird gone mad.
“Alright, I’ll check it out.” Joseph said, his voice still rough with sleep, extending his arm towards the bird in an attempt to calm him. Standing up, Joseph extended his arms towards the ceiling, trying to once again touch the ceiling. He’d grown almost tall enough to touch the low ceiling. Resuming normal posture, Joseph opened the door to a well lit living room and kitchen. In the kitchen was a plump women scurrying to the oven and finally silencing the beeping. Pulling out some sort of baked item, she turned around to set it on the counter. Her eyes grew large at the sight of Joseph. She spoke in a hurried, and disappointed manner, “I’d been hopin’ you wouldn’t be wakin’ for a while.”
Joseph now was comprehending what she was doing, why it hadn’t been obvious was a mystery to Joseph. She did it every year, bake Joseph a large a ray of sweets along with an oversized breakfast. Rubbing the back of him head, Joseph gave a small smile. Walking towards his mom, which whom he towered over, he wrapped his arm around her large shoulders, and squeezed them gently. “Ma, you never need be doin’ this.” But, the sight of the food did make Joseph’s stomach turn with excitement, giving a loud embarrassing rumbling noise. The sound made his mother give a small approving smile, “Your stomach be sayin’ otherwise.”
