He paused to catch his breath, he had been busy pacing across the shoreline for the main part of the day. He couldn't seem to tolerate the head as much as his dad could. He glanced around to see what new things there were about him and was surprised to find himself in front of the gap of a meadow. He looked back at the shoreline and then back at the meadow. Come to think of it he didn't really have a chance to eat... he shrugged slightly and then briskly trotted into the meadow watching the trees wearily for any signs of danger. When he felt secure with the surrounding, he begun to munch on the sweet grass.
He was soon driven into the shade of the lining trees to get out of the hot afternoon sun. He was quite happy though about the discovery of a small berry bush, and begun to gently tug at the brances hoping to shake off the ripe berries to they ground where he would gather by the mouthful. He kept glancing back at the gap hoping to not forget about it. He would move later when the sun is lower...

The beach was certainly different from the mainland area where she had been born and raised in. Walking slowly down the shoreline, the silver mare lifted her head and watched the seagulls cry out and float on the winds blowing in from the sea. Pure bliss was the gift of flight...maybe she would try flying out above the blue waters later on when the sun set. Tossing her head, Nakia smiled and continued walking while enjoying the moment to herself.
Pausing, she stopped and eyed the water lapping up onto the sands. What was it like....? Cold? Or warm? Maybe a combination of both? Acting like a kitten, Nakia stepped closer and touched the wet sand with a forehoof just as the water came rushing up. It splashed against her forelegs, causing the squeak and rear up slightly in surprise. It was cold! Yet, strangly nice at the same night, especially on a hot day like today.

His ears perked up at a faint sound, he looked up forgetting about the small pile of berries that were beside his hoof. He cautiously glanced about as he left the shelter of shade and moved into the meadow he looked about trying to figure where the source of the strange sound was.
Not being able to find the source he felt rather worried especially when it was suddently followed by a stange sound...like a muffled thump, and decided to leave the berries and get away from the area. He sped up into a gallop and was startled by a visitor on the outside. He skidded to a halt near the entrance. She seemed to be interested in the water... but then again he did make quite the racket. The only thing he could really do was try to clear his throat and try to calm down.

Whickering happily at the cool waters, Nakia took a few steps further into the water and pranced in place happily with her wings spread slightly. She looked out at the never-ending horizen before the sound of pounding hooves caught her attention. Spinning around with water flying in all directions and ears pinned against her head, Nakia took a few steps away from the treeline as another Soquili came into view.
She snorted and shook her head as he cleared his throat. Was he going to speak...or leave her be? Perhaps even attack? The wind didn't know what Soquili lurked in this general area. Nervous, Nakia quickly unfolded her wings more, ready to take flight at a moment's notice while keeping a careful watch at the stranger.

He then froze at the sight before him, in the water was a mare with wings out. He had never encountered a Wind Soquili before and thought they were not of a dangerous nature. He glanced up worried of any others in the sky. Seeing the sky clear he then focused on the mare in the water. He coughed again akwardly.
"Ummm.." he asked feeling a little sheepish "Were you the one that made the strange sound earlier?" He backed away a few feet in case the mare would charge and lowered his head. He carefully admired the mares pattern and couldn't hide the curiousity on his face "...are you what they call a Wind Soquili?" He hoped that he wouldn't be considered rude... perhaps she was as spooked as him.

Nakia, too, froze and blinked at the stallion as he came into full view. Although a, earth-bound being, he seemed different from the others Nakia had met during her childhood. Ears perked up now and wings folded against her body, she cocked her head at the cough and the questions that followed.
"Strange sound?" Her voice became soft and gentle when he backed away a bit. "Im afraid I don't recall making a such a sound." Smiling at the curiousity be displayed, Nakia spread her wings to show them off in a bit more friendly manner than she had displayed before. "Yes, from my father's side. He gave me the gift of flight and for that, I am grateful." Staring at the other, she took in his appearance with curious eyes. "Are you, perhaps, a Soquili of the Earth?"

(Sorry for the Long Delay should be steady again now 8D)
He froze at the gentleness in her voice, and noted that it didn't sound at like the one he just heard "Sorry about that, I thought I had heard something and feared predators." He bowed gently "I'm sorry if I had frightened you" he grinned sheepishly at the mare. He took a few steps closer to admire her wings as she spread them out before him. "So your father had wings... and your mother didn't..." he asked letting the curiousity slip into his wording.
He was slightly confused by the question that she gave about being a Soquili of the earth "Yes, I am" he finally clued in "Though my father says I am also a Soquili of the fire" he shrugged unsure of what his father was trying to say. Blinking he returned his thoughts on her "I'm sorry, where are my manners..." He grinned once again "My name is Calcifer, though you can call me Cal if you'd like. May I have your name?" He took a few steps closer to her.
