Latte was hiding under the boulder Yuri cracked in half, wondering what to do. He thought of yesterday's incident, and he couldn't supress a sniffle. It was all Corbin's fault, for glaring at his sister like that. And his dad was so stubborn too, not apologizing. Now he couldn't see Yuri anymore, and his heart was broken. He wanted to cry out loud, but he needed to be strong for Yuri.

Yuri looked back at the treelike where her family was probably still asleep. The sun was just setting and she knew why she ran. She didn't want anyone to show up to stop her. She had decided she would see Latte tonight, no matter what consequences lay in the future for doing so she would see him.

Looking at the setting sun, Latte sighed. It seemed so long ago that he had watched a sunset just like it with Yuri. He missed her sorely, and thought his heart would explode.

Yuri looked ahead, to where she was running. It was where Latte should be, where the cracked rock lay. She heard the cicadas start up and she ran even faster, breathing even harder, trying to get there as quick as possible.

Latte pricked his ears when he heard panting from behind him. Turning, he nearly gasped in shock. Could it be? Did Yuri really get his message? He squinted, trying to make out the figure in the distance.

Yuri smiled as she ran when she Latte look at her. She was so happy to see him after what seemed like ages. She ran up to him and pounced him, nuzzling him affectionately.

Falling backwards from the pounce, Latte laughed, relieved, that Yuri was here. He nuzzled her back, overjoyed that she had gotten his message. "I still love you," he said. "No matter what our parents say, I want to be with you."

Yuri smiled and lay on him, still burting with happiness that he had been there. "I still love you too, no matter what." she replied.

Purring with happiness, Latte touched noses with Yuri. "Do you think our parents will let us be together?" he asked, scared that he might have to leave her.

Yuri's ears drooped back against her head as she thought about it. Her dad did seem pretty serious about it, she wasn't so sure it would be allowed. "I...I don't know..." she replied, saddened about the reality of it all.

"Would you come with me if he doesn't allow it?" Latte asked softly. His plan was to run away with Yuri if her dad didn't allow it, but he needed her opinion first. "I'd take care of you."

Yuri nodded before laying her head down on him. "O-of course Yuri... would... Yuri a-already snuck away.....today..." she said, her words growing softer until they were hardly a whisper at the end. She knew she would be punished, she knew she would, yet she still didn't seem to care.

Latte was still on his back, just listening to Yuri speak. He sighed, knowing that he might never see his mother or family again. But for Yuri, it was worth it. "Where do you want to go?" he asked.

Yuri shook her head and burrowed it in Latte's fur. "I don't... know..." she mumbled into it, her ears still drooped to either side of her head. She really didn't want to leave her parents forever. She wanted both which could not exist together.

Latte sighed, unable to make a decision. Instead, he looked sincerely into Yuri's eyes, and kissed her. "Wherever we go, I want you by my side."
