'Woyi giggled to herself excitedly as she trotted out of the forest and into the clearing where she could feel the full warmth of the sun on her back. She had managed to slip past all the watchful eyes of the adults in the herd and was off to practice flying and adventuring, imagining herself to be her Doda, Tawali, flying all over the world, meeting hundreds of strange Soquili, simply riding the winds wherever they took him. She wanted to be just like her Doda when she grew up and her wings were strong and big, wanted to do everything and anything and meet everyone. She wouldn't be scared of anything she met, not even those Kalonas and Skinwalkers that were supposed to be so strange and viscious. It would be cool to see those ones for herself, she thought.
The little filly sprang into the air, flapping her little wings rapidly to try and get lift off the ground. Tawali had been teaching her and Adi how to fly, but she still wasn't too good at it yet. She needed to make sure she practiced lots before she went off to explore the world. She would be an amazing flier if she just practiced every day, of that she was sure.
But 'Woyi lost all of her other thoughts as she rose above the ground on her little wings, the joy of the air and flight taking over her mind. She loved to be up off the ground, even if she couldn't get too high yet--just wobbling at the height of the smaller treetops, sometimes darting higher, often losing her balance and dropping a little lower. But she loved to be able to see everything from such a cool persepctive. Neighing in joy, she flew around the clearing, straining up and then swooping down, trying to learn how to work well with her wings.
