I just got back from an anime convention this weekend where I had submitted two Gundam Wing AMVs into the contest. Needless to say, the videos that won were from anime that was released in the past 3-5 years, in fact aside from my Robotech and Tenchi Muyo! videos Gundam Wing was the oldest show at the contest. I am starting to think that at least half of the audience did not even know what Gundam Wing is.

I would have known. I just started making GW AMVs in the past year or two...I think within the past year ^^;. I don't go to conventions though.

Ohhh yeah, im sure that you would have but it kind of hurts that my favorite anime series has fallen by the wayside and cannot be noticed above all the rest. I guess that it is a little hard to impress people with a ten year old show

I like making GW AMVs. They're fun. It might seem a bit silly though, what with it being such an old anime and whatnot...but then again it's the only anime that I really have to use. I can only use pictures from the other animes and make slideshows/slow videos that you can easily tell if you make some sort of an effort to pay attention that they're screenshots/scans/etc.

The convention I went to last weekend had one gundam themed amv and then the majority of the other titles were only a couple years old or less. My sister and I have all sorts of ideas for older anime (mostly GW and Ronin Warriors), but we never have the time. =

I haven't been to any conventions yet that I'm aware of. I've been to concerts, museums, ammusement/theme parks...beaches...parades, banquets...suites...other states...the bahamas...but no conventions that I can think of. I wonder why that is. It's certainly not because I don't want to go to a convention >>;.
