I heard a huge "bang" from outside, and suddenly the power went out. xd For the last hour or so, I had been without electricity. So no internets. D: No one was around, and no one would be around for hours (everyone's out partying) and I didn't have a cellphone to contact anyone in case something went wrong. I was a little afraid. redface Talked to the neighbours who were out sitting on their porch as usual. Turns out the whole block was stricken. They said they regretted not replacing the batteries in their flashlight, and bought candles. I ran back inside the house. I dug into my closet, to where I knew I had a bunch of candles and matches. I had tons, of all different shapes and sizes. Slowly I made my way around the house, lighting them and placing them in each room I was going to be using. I was having a blast, and I don't really know why. xd After I lit what I needed to (and even more than I needed to in my room), I lay down on my bed and took in the scene. The scents of my candles were beautiful. Apple Cider, Pumpkin Pie, Rose, Lavender, Lilacs...and their soft glow was the most welcoming sight to see. My thoughts wandered to my loved one, and how I wished here were here... Even more thoughts occured after that, and certain events, but I won't go into those. ninja
Anywho, this has got me thinking. With all of these other options I choose to conserve energy (I have solar powered lawn light thingers, and a fuel-efficient vehicle), there is more I could be doing. Using candles when I don't need other lights is a rewarding and arousing experience.

I love candles, but honestly I don't use them much. I think I'm afraid the cat is going to knock them over or something.

I love candles, and now that I don't have my ex complaining about how he hates them, I can start collecting them again. I LOVE my candle lanterns. I like them better than a flashlight, because I always have tea lights. I forget to buy batteries. XD

I adore candles. I use them even when the power doesn't go out. The flickering of fire is so, mesmerizing...

i learned that if you try to go to sleep and you can't,then just stair at a flame of a candle and it will put you to sleep.Theirs some kind of scientific thing that goes on in your brain when you look at the flame long enough ,but i forgot what they said exactly.

My mom used to sell candles for a company called Party Lite so we have a huge closet dedicated to candles and candle accessories alone. So I have five pillars on my dresser and an arouma melt on my desk and I love waiting until the sun sets just to light them and stare at them. Embrace your candle love! Embrace it! scream
Just don't try and make smores with them though, they taste like wax.

Asynja Frigg Colour Kid Sure, leave out the good parts. D:< They're too hot to handle. dramallama @Emo: OMG LUCKY! scream I is le jealous of your collection. emo Don't be, when dad was still active duty we had to move every three years. I had to spend my weekends unpacking box after box of candles! So many scents! gonk We got all of ours from Party Lite, you could do a search on their site and find a consultant in your town. Here's their web site, http://www.partylite.us/home/lang_us.htm. You might want to go to a party and pick up a catalog though, they don't put many of their products on their site.

I enjoy candles. They can smell nice however my family got rid of them a while ago while me and my brother were kids because we kept playing wit them. They are sort of a fire hazard that is why we never use them that much.

Candles are okay in a pinch....but being prepared with flashlights and batteries and battery operated lanterns is much more efficient....
