I want to learn to play some more songs that I like, and I want to find a site that has tabs and such. Any suggestions?

The only site I use for tab is ultimate-guitar.com, it's pretty much the best one. As for sheet music, you're on your own with that one since the only time I use sheet music is for my lessons.

Get those tabs while you still can. The music industry is cracking down on those sites as well...Theres this site metaltabs.com that used to be badass, but they are in the process of getting sued along with a few other sites.

I could sorta understand why musicians didn't want their music to be free on the internet (don't nessicarily agree..) but banning tabs is going too far.

Thanks much! And I don't like that they're getting sued. It's not like you're gonna claim the song as your own or anything... confused

Just wanted to add to this, the site I used before ultimate-guitar was guitarmasta.com, and their archive recently got shut down.

That really sucks, it's not like their music is being ripped off or anything.

I would use 911tabs.com. It's bassicaly a search engine of tab sites for guitars/bass/piano/drums. It's very useful and uses sites like UG and all those great guitar sites.

UG's my personal choice, sheet music was suggested, for which I usually either find it in random scans through the dying music shops or use the net

http://www.sheetmusicplus.com This is quite good but your best bet on the net is to google it and hope.

As for the current crack down, it's completly ridiculace! Like Raider stated, I understand musicians wanting their fair share of money from the sales of thier music. That's brilliant, their already cheated out of so much, but who te flying ******** would want to stop emulation, the sinserest of all flateries. True, tab sites do stint up and comings in thier skills to learn by ear alittle bit, but why shouldn't up and comings who work out a song be allowed to share thier knowledge with other over the net. People do it in the real world, are they going to crack down on that?

Peace

Can musicians give us anything? Can I have just one thing that doesn't cost over 20 goddamn dollars from these people? Maybe I don't want to learn a third of AC/DC's songs for 30 dollars. Maybe I want to learn Back in Black for free and not learn or even hear any of their songs again. Why are all the care-free musicians dead? Hendrix wouldn't give a s**t if we learned his stuff for free.

911 tabs has a broader selection which is useful when u want rarer stuff like jrock, but Ultimate-Guitar has the premium tabs and lots of guitar pro files (which provides u with sheet music and a tablature, not to mention u can listen to the piece you want to play, often has tabs for multiple instruments- including vocals- and you can use it to write your own work.

I like 911tabs.com because it's easy to find what you're looking for there, and they almost always have at least one spot-on tab.

Sheet music would be great...if you can get it. I listen to alot of bands that aren't played on the radio and so they don't have as big of fanbase sometimes. Thus, getting sheet music for these bands in pretty much impossible, thats why I liked metaltabs.com because they had all that "underground" band stuff. That stuff is effing TOUGH to figure out sometimes...when musicians didn't want to have people exchange their music on the net...I stood by and kinda went with it, but if they take tabs I'm gonna rebel and start writing some nasty opinionated letters. razz

which is about the only thing the fans can do. write the record companies and try to sway them, if they get enough mail it could be enough to sace internet tabs.
