I would still pick juice over soda just because of the caffeine x3

And i agree, EATING fruit is always better x3
Also, is this study done on the sugar filled juices, or whole nutrient naturally sweet drinks?

I hate Sunny D. I hate their advertising. They give people the false sense that there's vitamins in it. I'll be damned if I can find the ingredient list on their website, but from memory, the it's water, sugar, high fructose corn syrup (sugar) tons more other additives and then.... vitamin c, all by itself at the back of the list. scream

I drink so called "green" juices. I forget about the high sugar content, because I like the fact that it has X ingredient. And wow, my juice companies website blows Sunny D's out of the water.

Wow. eek That killed my previous beliefs. whee Sigh. Thanks for informing everyone of this. ^_^ It kind of makes me emo, though. emo Oh well, I've been mostly drinking water and eating fruit more than drinking juice. xd Same thing here with the Sunny D advertisements. Those little... >_<

Yep, the closest I ever come to drinking fruit juice is tossing an apple into the juicer with the veggies. And I don't really use the juicer that often, just when I'm almost-fasting. I'd rather have everything the fruit has to offer, not just the juice.

Omg. I was in the market for a new couch, and there was this nifty microfibre, anti stain fabric. The one year insurance covered grease, wine, lipstick, nuclear waste... but not Sunny D. They've never found a way to get rid of the orange tint. The sales woman couldn't believe people let their kids drink it.

They've never found a way to get rid of the orange tint. The sales woman couldn't believe people let their kids drink it.


Haha! Like coke, when i was in 7th grade we did experiments with coke in my science class. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. I witnessed this.

&& our police department, uses large amounts of coke when they need to get a lot of blood of the roads after a bad accident.

As for juice, i drink motts apple juice ninja

Apples have been selectively bred to the point where they're sugar bombs from the trees - so I'd guess it's pretty darn sugary.

Generally speaking, someone has the nutrition data for every product up online somewhere - all you have to do is search for it. Here is Mott's apple juice.

In a single serving of Mott's apple juice, there are 24 grams of carbohydrates - 23 of which are sugar. That's around half of what you'll find in a can of soda or in Sunny Delight.

Even so, it's still high-glycemic sugar - not good if you're prone to bloodsugar problems.

Phosphoric acid is in all the carbonated stuff---I used lots of cheap soda to take the rust off 7 old, rusty steel Ice-cream-parlor chairs a few years ago. Worked like a charm! wink

According to this page, it has 13 grams of sugar. So as far as sugar goes, it's better.

It still comes in a plastic bottle, though, and doesn't have the fiber that real fruit has. wink

It's crazy how hard it is to find juice that's actually, um, just juice, especially if you want something besides apple juice. No high fructose corn syrup in my grape juice, please!!!! gonk (Seriously. GRAPE JUICE, people. A juice that is used as a sweetener itself. Why, just... WHY???)

This is a very interesting thread. I just gave my grand daughter (Jazlyn, so if you see me say Jazz, that's her) some grape juice. It is Welch's so I never thought about it. No wonder she gets hyper, lol, it has 42 g carbs, sugar is 40g of that! I did check, there were no added sugar, there was other stuff though. Jeeze I guess I'll have to can some juice (along with the jelly and jam) when my grapes get ripe.
