Update! A new forum is very likely on its way: An 2008 U.S. election forum with the expressed purpose of discussing the upcoming Presidential election in November.

The forum will be opened soon once we decide how we're gonna deal with it, the rules, the subjects allowed, and some other details. Stay tuned! (If you have a topic in there you would like to move out, please contact a Crew Member).

Rules!

Below are the rules for the Pro-life Guild (hereafter abbreviated PLG). Please follow them as closely as possible and remember that everything you do here is a representation of yourself as well as a representation of the Guild to anyone outside watching. So be good, aware, and intelligent!

The warning system has been upgraded. We will work on a three strike system. Once a user receives three warnings, he or she will be discussed by the Crew to see what further action should be taken. However, note that in special cases, special actions might be taken to resolve problems.

Please also note that we may report you to a GAIA Moderator for further discipline or assistance, pending circumstances.

1. All rules of the GAIA Online ToS and Rules & Guidelines must be followed here. No posting inappropriate material, no flaming, trolling, spamming, promoting illicit activities, scamming, and all of those things.
-Please also remember to treat all users with respect and civility!

2. You may bump if your thread falls off the first page.

3. Please put topics in their appropriate forum. All general discussion, please stick in the PLG:GD forum, all serious discussion about matters other then abortion please place in the PLG:ED. The Crew Office is off limits to all non-crew members. If for any reason you should find yourself in possession of information regarding the goings-on of that sub-forum, please do not share with others. It is a serious forum for those that run the guild and all things discussed within it cannot be shared.

Any and all pro-choicers in this guild must post ONLY in the Pro-Choice/Pro-Life subforum. No exceptions. If you have a question about any of the rules here, we will allow you to post in THIS rules thread and THIS rules thread alone. Please note that Beware the Jabberwock's Rules thread in the PL/PC subforum must also be adhered to!

4. Above all have fun, and make friends.

ADDENDUM: There seems to be some confusion regarding debates or disagreement. You're free to do as you please. Debating was never against this Guilds policy, I'm not completely sure why this was ever believed to be so.

ADDENDUM II: The policy regarding other Guilds has been revoked. You are free to speak about any guild or guild going-ons as you please, just make it tasteful.

ADDENDUM III: The warning system has since been changed.

I'd ask where my kitten is, but instead I'll ask what constitutes as spam. Besides parts of pigs that just shouldn't be eaten by anyone but female pigs.

o.o A) I didn't need to know what spam was, but I think I'll now avoid it, B) It's a little disturbing seeing someone refer to it that way... xd

It'll stick out as being not part of the overall idea of what the thread is about. We're going to be lenient, but an emoticon post is not contributing to the overall post.

Ask yourself three questions:

What belongs in this thread?

Does this post contribute to this thread?

Is it bad enough to delete?

That should help out.

2, 4, 6, 8,

What do we appreciate?

ON TOPIC POSTS!

...>>

Yes, I know.

I'll be quiet now. gonk

In all seriousness, though, I'm wondering the rules behind threads that a choicer might make in this guild.

They all have to admit that we PWNZORS them xd

Probably the same rules. I can't think of any posts that would be in agreement with these rules, and still be offensive.

We've got some posts that challenge prolife arguments. KP usually says if they stay civil, they're okay.

In fact, I think more choice-bashing threads have been shut down than life-bashing ones.

The people in here who are prochoice demonstrated that they know how to show respect to people who are prolife.

Though prochoice arguments usually meet with opposition (Who woulda thought that in a prolife guild, prochoice arguments would be debated? xd ) and some are emotionally upsetting. I've seriously seen callous enough remarks that I felt physically ill.

I want a kitten.......
But seriously when does a debate or rant get to aggressive or to angry that it needs to be shut down?

I'm guessing it won't be outright shut down unless it's REALLY bad.

If someone comes in and starts spouting off about anti-choicers or anti-lifers, it's just personal attacks that aren't necessary and don't belong in a debate.

Basically, if respect is maintained for everyone involved in the debate, it'll probably be okay. If it starts to get iffy, a crew member will either jump into the convo or pm the person causing the trouble to keep that person from being embarrassed, I dunno how kp's going to have it work, but I have never seen you write ANYTHING that's near disrespectful. I think you'll be fine. or I could be wrong.

Have a kitten.

Kittens eh? I like kittens. I mean I think they're cute and fluffy, I don't like to eat them.
