A grunt came from the mouth of the brown angelic lion. He had been flying, or at least trying, for some time now though all it left was a major pain in his already bent wing. It still hadn't healed properly, but that could have been because he refused to rest it. He supposed it was his own fault, but then who was he truly if he was a winged lion who couldn't fly? Sighing, Jeinaige tried to cut through the air on a thermal lift, however, the more he flew the slower and slower he became, it was becoming a worse off problem than he wanted to admit.

It was at that moment that he hadn't been watching, his eyes were on the ground, trying to find a place to land when he felt a thud in his right wing, a rock landed square on the wing arm, causing a major pain to shoot up in the already damaged appendage. He groaned, feeling himself wobble toward the cliff top, his ascent spiraling faster and faster downward...

Thud. He hit the ground hard. Luckily he hadn't been up too high to do a whole lot more of an injury. "Look! He fell! What kind of an angel is he...?" The whispered tones of a child's voice rang into his ears. Growling, his eyes skited forward, glaring at the three kids that were hiding behind a rock, obviously they were the ones that threw it at him. "I think he saw us! Let's get out of here!" Jeinaige wanted to pursue and teach the little monsters a lesson but as he tried to stand he realized that the little brats had caused him to injure one of his legs. He'd get them back.. the little mongrels needed to be taught a lesson... well.. as soon as he felt better.

User ImageColette spread her golden wings, gliding through the air with a grace only comparable to the angels that danced with clouds after their time of life has passed. The sun glinted off her feathers and armor, making her shimmer slightly. What a gorgeous day for flight it is.

But her coffee-colored eyes caught sight of something not-so-pretty. She could just make out the earthy form of another angelic, and he was obviously having problems flying. She was horrified as she saw the rock and his spiraling crash, and she flapped powerfully with her wings, speeding to land near him. She was just in time to to see the kids run off and she roared at them, making one squeak and trip, the scramble away.

Her features softened as she turned to face the male, seeing him attempt to get up. She padded towards him, nosing his shoulder encouragingly. "Stay still, earthen angel." She spoke softly, looking around at the surroundings to see what she could use to help him.

Dropping back to the ground in a heap, Jeinaige couldn't help but let out a tortured growl. Things had gone from bad to worse since he had met that captain who had her crew mutiny against her. Elizabeth.. yes, that was her name. He wondered what happened to her.

While drifting off into random thought, it was at that moment that Jeinaige heard the roar of another lion, causing his eyes to twist. His mouth could have dropped, there was another angelic coming to his aid? She obviously didn't know who he was, he could be sure of that. Still, she was beautiful and the moment that she touched his shoulder his whole body stiffened, trying his hardest to not stare in her direction from both shock and her appearance. Earthen angel? A slight insult, but then he guessed after being kicked around that is what he had become.. he had lost so much of his former glory staying around the normal lions of this world, but that was the price he paid, his descent.

He wanted to ask her why she would help him, but then of course, she was one of his kind. The angels that had to help everyone. It was slightly ironic. He had become too angsty in his new pursuits.. it had been so long since he had seen one of his kind... "You don't have to help me." He grunted slightly, his eyes refusing to look at her because he knew he couldn't look away. Perhaps it wouldn't take long for her to realize he was a lost cause, they all realized it in the end.

She padded quickly to a small tree, pressing a paw to it and then carving the bark off with her claws. She flicked an ear as he spoke, shaking her head and carrying the back back to him. "Don't be ridiculous," she chuckled, placing the bark to his injured leg. "Straighten that leg out as much as you can." She wasn't asking, but telling him to do so.

With one paw she slipped the red ribbon out of her hear, wrapping it around the male's leg and the bark to create a makeshift splint. The only price she paid was her long, chocolate hair falling into her face, which she easily pushed back with her paw. Satisfied with her job she smiled, looking toward his face. "All better. Just be sure not to put too much weight on it, and I would highly advise avoiding swimming."

She sat back on her haunches, smile still gracing her features. "I am Colette, the embodiment of the virtue of Fortitude. May I ask your name?"

Heh. She treated him like a cub. He couldn't decide if he should be offended by that fact or not. Still, he did what she told him to, not because she ordered it, but because he knew it was the best option if he wanted to be up and flying any time soon. His eyes slowly pulled over her figure, noticing the hair and he couldn't help but smirk a little before slowly wiping the expression away. "I'm not exactly stupid enough to go swimming on an injury like this." Though, on a second thought it would be nice to soak both it and his wings. When his eyes slowly met hers he began to realize the attitude being more about the dignity of an angelic, he had been quick to forget, the fact that she would even talk to one fallen as himself was a sign that she wasn't as stuck up as the ones he knew in the past.

Twisting his eyes away, his attention immediately went to croon over his injured wing. The cubs had done a number on it. Right in the place the rock had hit was gushing an amount of blood, twisting it over his brown feathers to smear inside. He sighed, he was much more worried about the wings than a stupid leg, but healing it would be a lot harder job. An angelic's pride was their wings of course...

Hearing the introduction, he pushed his attention back to her. She had a strong name, one that suited her sweet and yet bold nature, at least the side he had seen of her so far. He hadn't forgot his angelic manners, at least not yet anyhow, "Charmed Milady. I'm Jeinaige, the Wanderer." Of course, he had had a much different name and title when living with his own kind, but that was long ago.

How could she have missed his wing? She'd even seen the rock hit it! Maybe her mind wasn't all there today. She pulled her spear from it's resting place in her armor and stuck it in the ground, point down. The red ribbon there, same as the one from her hair, dangled and twirled, dancing in a breeze so soft that Colette could not feel in through her fur.

With one claw she worked the knot out of the ribbon and balled it up, pressing it to the bleeding wound. "This isn't the only injury your wing has.." She pointed out, looking over the entire thing. "Some feathers have fallen out and it seems slightly bent... but I can tell it's been like this for a while... Jeinaige," she tried his name out on her tongue, "why were you trying to fly? This wing needs rest and grounded exercise to strengthen it before you can attempt to fly."

She paused for a moment. "I should know... I too was grounded once."

Jeinaige eyed her carefully when he saw the spear. He neither flinched nor turned away, he merely watched. He moved his wing into position as she pressed the ribbon to his wound. He grimaced slightly when the sting penetrated his flesh. "Why are you being so kind?" He abruptly requested the answer. "Even angelics usually have an agenda when helping someone. What is your agenda?" He raised a brow to her and then quickly removed his eyes when she asked. "I have my reasons... What good is an angelic if they have no wings.. I despise being on the ground. These... creatures... disgust me at times.. Sad to say for one who is fallen and shares their world." He sighed knowing that he wasn't much better than any of them. He had been reduced to become just like them only winged. He was a pathetic excuse for the blood running through his veins. "And why exactly are you out all this way..?"
