The foal was barely balanced on her newly discovered spindly legs. Her 'brother,' Dichali, had promised her that she would be able to fly, but she had to learn to walk without falling down, first. Excited at this, Magaskawee had run away to explore, and show him that she was able to fend for herself. Surely this would make him believe that she could fly whenever she wanted, right?
The summer days had grown much cooler, but the air was still heavy with moisture. Mags was currently struggling to find a flat place to stand in the rocky clearing not too far from home. It wasn't too far from the lake, and there were trees scattered about. Pines, mostly, which could probably be blamed for the lack of grass. Then again, the rocky soil had surely played a part in it as well. Brown orbs scanned it in search of a best way to go without falling down, but failed. This was surely going to hurt.

Lurking in the darkness, Keira gazed at her surroundings lazily. There wasn't anything interesting around here and she didn't really want to socialize with those non-kalona. They didn't deserve her time or attention. Glowing eyes, Keira had noticed a small foal nearby but she wasn't really too interested in approaching it. She stood within the darkness, her eyes and the lighter parts of her body were only visible. It had been awhile since she had grown to adult-hood but she really didn't miss being a foal too much. There was very little she could do as a young one because she was so small. But the female continued to watch the foal wondering if it would ever notice her watching it.

Tiny hooves carefully navigated themselves through the rocks, doing quite well until suddenly, there came a big, "Oof!" Magaskawee, which meant 'graceful,' seemed to be anything but. She had gotten her leg caught in a hole and tumbled down onto the rocks she had been so carefully avoiding. Mags tugged on her leg, using all of her might to free herself. Alas, another loud, "Oof!" Following, an "Oww!" The foal's leg was now bloodied and scratched, but she pushed foreward to get herself out of the rock field. The Kalona mare went unnoticed for most of this, but while looking for another path, the filly spotted glowing eyes. Startled, she stood there, staring and thinking of what her brother would do. "Uhm... Hello?"

Watching the foal with an amused expression on her face, Keira was wondering what the hell it was doing. She almost felt bad for the little one but not... bad enough. She laughed aloud when she finally noticed her. "Uh. Hello there." Keira didn't feel like moving from her spot just yet so she just stood in the same place. She didn't say any more because it was always more interesting to let other soquili talk. She could learn a lot about them that way... The kalona was pretty observant and probably inherited that from her grandmother, Heartless.

Waiting for the mare to say something else, Mags raised a brow. When she didn't, and just stood there, the foal spoke again. "Er... I'm Magaskawee. But my brother just calls me Mags. What's your name?" The filly examined her bloodied leg, and decided it wasn't anything to fret about. She looked back up at the Kalona, unsure. This Soquili seemed rather... Odd. Why were its eyes glowing? Was there something wrong with it? Was it still just standing there because it couldn't move? Many questions crossed the foal's mind, but she decided to stay quiet until the mare answered her first question.

Mags... What an interesting name. And he had wings but they weren't like her's so she immediately placed him lower on the hierarchy scale that she kept in her head. "Keira. What are you doing out here little one?" It wasn't strange for kalonas to be out alone but other little ones could get hurt easily. It wasn't a smart move on her parent's part. It wasn't that she was worried about Mag, Keira could really care less if she got eaten by a skinwalker or something. But it gave her something to do and she didn't like being bored.

What was she doing? Wasn't it obvious? "I'm practicing walking. I don't know how long you've been there, but it's pretty obvious that I'm not very good at it yet. Dichali says that if I can get used to walking, he'll try and teach me how to fly. But not a minute sooner." Nodding, she started to move again. Rocky places surely weren't the best for walking.

Walking? She needed to practice that? How long ago did this little one come out of her basket? Keira remembered that it didn't take her too long to get used to her legs. "Really now? Well, practice makes perfect." There was sort of an insincere aspect to her voice yet she covered up her disdain easily. "Who might Dichali be? Your father?" Keira... wanted to instill a sort of fear in this soquili, so the little filly would never forget her or her family's name. That's what these soquili needed. A wakeup call and she would be more then happy to provide that.

Magaskawee shook her head. "Nope. Dichali's my big brother. We don't know who our parents are." She looked up to talk to the mare while walking, which caused her to trip on a rock and fall again. "...Ow..." Struggling to get up, blood smeared from her injured leg to the filly's torso, but she paid no attention to it.

"Oh? Are you looking for him?" She didn't know who her family was? That was pathetic. Regulars needed to keep track of who they're breeding with. She was much too proud of her family and she thought that others should know who their family was too. It was a very important aspect to Keira's life. Raising a brow, recently, Keira had developed a taste for blood and seeing that blood drip down her leg she almost went crazy. She had clearly noticed but she was surprised that the little filly didn't pay any attention to it. "Are you... going to wash that off?"

Looking for him? Mags shook her head. "Nope. Trying to get away from him, actually. He thinks that 'cause I'm clusmy, he's gotta always follow me everywhere. It bugs me." She finally managed to stand again, and continued on her way. "... Huh?" The filly looked at the blood on her leg and body, and shook her head. "Nah. I'm not s'posed to go near water or anything. Dichali says I might drown."

"I see." Muttering to herself, Keira wanted to just fel that blood on her tongue. "Well, Dichali seems to think that he knows a lot about you. I really think you should wash off the blood though or I might feel the urge to rip you apart just to taste your blood." She didn't quite think that what she said was weird or anything. That was just what Keira was thinking and she might as well warn this little filly that she was definitely a kalona.

Magaskawee's eyes widened. "Taste... My blood? Y'know... I hear that grown-up blood tastes better." She looked around for some water, which wasn't really hard to find seeing as they were by the lake. Managing to get out of the rocks, however, would surely prove to be a challenge.
