"That no-good scheming stealing scum!" he snarled under his breath as he walked. Mother was a member of his pride and not anyone else's! He was too resentful to really pay attention to where he was going, so before long, Caden found himself once again at the park.
Despite the good weather, it was mostly empty. Nobody to reprimand him as he climbed defiantly up the plastic slide, digging his claws into the soft material and leaving harsh white furrows.

The children had insisted on going to the park today. Marco didn't mind at all, he was glad the the three little children of his liked to get out so much. The park was pretty empty except for one child who seemed to be having fun all on his own, "Play nice you three." Marco said to the kids as they walked up to the park. As soon as Marco sat down on one of the benches the kids scattered.
Deidre took to the field close to the park, there were a lot of new wild flowers in bloom and all the ones she had made were wilted.
Romeo found the swings to be more enjoyable, he had his Batman action figure with him as always. The little boy never left home without it. He put Batman in the swing next to him while he sat down in his own.
Claydon wanted to go play on the monkey bars. The boy was determined to finally pull himself through the bars and onto the topside like he saw some older kids do a while ago. Thus far he had been unsuccessful.
None of them paid much mind to the other boy there. Romeo was a bit too shy, Deidre had a mission to do and Claydon just didn't care.

Caden was almost all the way up the slide when the sound of other people drifted by. He flattened his ears in annoyance, but was quickly distracted when an enticing aroma floated by. It smelled vaguely human, and vaguely bovine, and for some reason, it reminded him of food.
He sprung sideways off the slide and hid behind it, easily sighting his prey. A calf with red hair was hanging from the monkey bars. Caddie, being both a lion and a ten year old boy, could not always be classified as intelligent. Instead of pausing to wonder why on earth there was a cow on the playground in the first place, and remembering that cows could not climb or hang on things because they had no hands, he stalked stealthily through the woodchips towards his target, making sure to keep upwind and out of sight as much as possible.

Clay paid no mind as the other boy at the park jumped off of the slide out of the corner of his eyes. He was continuing to try and pull himself up, in between two of the monkey bars grunting in annoyance as he continued to fail. He hung from the monkey bars and got another idea, he started to swing back and forth on them, he hoped maybe the building momentum would help him to get on the top of the monkey bars, but still, no luck. He just managed to hang there flailing around looking rather amusing.
Romeo saw him brother struggling and giggled a little under his breath as he swung. Clay was always trying to do silly things like that, his brother would get mad if he heard him laughing but Romeo couldn't help it.
Dei was starting to weave together some flowers. She was paying absolutely no mind to the boys on the playground, she had better things to do.

Now was his chance! When he was as close as he was going to get, Caden bounded out from the cover of the playground equipment, his sudden speed sending the woodchips flying. He barreled towards the calf, leaping into the air with his claws extended, in true lion fashion.
At the very last second, Caden's eyes widened in confusion when his prey suddenly morphed itself into a person. Although it was too late to change his course, not that he could while airborne, he at least managed to retract his claws... and missed entirely anyway. He'd forgotten to compensate for the swinging motion.
Caden's left hand hit the ground first, sending him vaulting over it and crashing down hard on his shoulder. He barely managed to get his feet under him in time to prevent himself from sliding backwards with the momentum of his pounce. Really gotta work on the landings. he thought to himself.
"Who are you?!" he yelled as he stood up again, slightly embarrassed and still angry. And then as an afterthought. "Hi."

Clay furrowed his eyebrows as he stared at the weird kid who just flew past him, "Who are YOU?" He asked just as freaked out that some random kid just missed knocking him off of the monkey bars. He dropped to the ground from the bars, not the best landing either, "What were you doing?!" He asked confused and a little flustered from the surprise.
Romeo saw the kid jump out of no where and land harshly. He stopped his swing wondering if he was hurt but as soon and the boy got back to his feet Romeo thought he was alright. He waited a bit though, to see if he started crying or needed a band-aid or something.
Deidre giggled at the spectacle. Boys were weird, but at least some times they were funny.

"I'm Caden." he said, puffing up his chest a bit and pointing his thumb at his shoulder. "I was hunting. I thought you were a cow."
Uh huh. Okay, that was pretty weird thing to say. He shrugged mentally. At least it was true. Caden swiveled an ear in the direction of a second voice, his head following a moment after. A girl this time. Was she laughing at him? His expression soured.
"What's so funny?!" he shouted across the playground at her with an irritated flick of his tail.

Clay gave Caden a strange look, "I am a cow...kinda," He replied not sure what to say, "But why would you be hunting me?" He asked kind of irritated himself.
"You dummy," Dei responded placing her hands on her hips.

"Because I'm a lion." He was about to continue about how lions were big fierce predators that killed and ate things like cows, but the girl's painfully blunt response cut him short. Since he was incapable of handling two conversations at once, Caden looked from one to the other, unsure of how to responde.

Clay raised an eyebrow, "You're weird, and you don't seem real smart neither," He said huffily. Claydon apparently lacked in the department of social skills.
"Anybody home dummy?" Deidre asked as she walked a little closer to the two boys, "Yohoo," She said waving a hand in front of him.

Electing to ignore his original target in favor of a female, he snatched the hand away from his face, holding it firmly but being careful not to dig his claws in. "No, not really." he answered, squeezing just a little to show off his strength. "I'm at the park with you." he leered, looking at her face carefully.

Deidre did not like the fact that the boy was grabbing her hand and squeezing it, "Let me go you weirdo!" Dei said before kicking Caden in the shin with a scowl on her face.
Clay giggled at that, he knew Dei could be violent...he knew this from first hand experience. Black eyes, especially from his sister, were not fun.
Romeo heard the racket coming from his siblings that finally snapped him out of his super hero game daze. He looked over and saw another boy, and his brother and sister seemingly being mean to him.
"What're you guys doing?" Romeo asked timidly as he started to walk closer to the other three as Dei aimed a kick at the other boys shin, "Hey! That's not nice Dei!" He said desperately as the chubby cowlet quickly headed over there to try and aid the new boy. He knew Clay was a bully, but he hadn't seen Dei be mean to anyone outside of the house yet.

"Ow!" he growled, jerking his leg away from her. That really hurt! He was about to throw the rule about not fighting with girls out the window and retaliate with claws out, but a new voice stopped him. Ever on the lookout for a chance at sympathy, Caddie rubbed at the sore spot on his shin. He shook his head to make his hair look fluffy and pretended to sniffle a little. "She kicked me." he whined, trying to sound helpless.

Romeo took a batman band-aid out of his pocket. His dad had always commended him for being cautious always carrying a band-aid, in reality Romeo only carried it because it was something Batman. "Here," Romeo said bending down and putting the band-aid onto Caddies leg, "Dei, why'd you kick him? Dad told us not to hit people..." Romeo mumbled, he was some what afraid of Dei himself. She had never hit him yet, but he'd seen her go after Clay enough to know he didn't want to get hit by her.
"He started it! Don't you take his side," Dei threatened shaking her fist at Romeo now.
Clay snickered some more at the Caddies clever trick of getting the sympathy.
