Dhaval huffed impatiently, swinging his tail behind him absently. He stood over a slow-moving stream, licking his lips and flexing the muscles in his paws as he watched the fish underneath the water's surface, just barely illuminated by the moonlight. He didn't want to eat them; too salty, not a very good taste. He just wanted to play with them, to smack them out of the water and watch them squirm on land for a moment before gently nudging them back in.

Looking around himself before striking, he was distracted by the moon, hanging just behind a swaying tree. He could only catch glimpses as the tree danced in the wind, sending the weaker leaves to cascade into a pool on the ground.

He had missed his chance. Dhaval noticed, with a hint of frusteration, that the fish had zipped off, probably to eat, sleep, or make the ladyfishes swoon.

The perfect life.

The wind caressed her cheeks, as she closed her eyes, inhaling the breeze as if to travel where it had been. She loved the wind, it was something that came from one place, traveling to another.
If it had been a real creature, Artemis would respect it completely.

After all, what else was a wolf?

She flicked her soft puffy tail, letting it wag as she walked, head lower looking up. She was in no mans land..Which meant no one owned this area where she was taking her walk.
So she was unsure why she was being submissive..She was the dominant one in her own pack.
But she knew why it was. Your own pack was family..They didnt want to hurt you.You do not have those ties with another pack.

Her sapphire eyes gleamed and she sighed, lifting her head in the moonlight as she caught the sight of a figure.

She stared like a deer and headlights for a few moments, and stalked closer, watching..

Dhaval watched the last of the tinier fish streak off, his tail ceasing to wag. He enjoyed watching the nonchalance of it all, the easy-going pace of the fish gently working against the current.

Dhaval's ears flicked back before his mind even registered that he heard footsteps. He wasn't frightened; no doubt that he could take on whatever was stalking him, as the footsteps sounded light and easily deterred.

He rotated around slowly, his tail sticking out and his head held high in a dominant pose. He was not going to be taking any flak from anyone today; he had wandered away from his pack for the first time in a long time, and he didn't want his peace disturbed.

Dhaval saw something stalking toward him, and grinned. The unmistakable scent of a female gently wafted in his direction.

"Hello, there," he called in his sultry voice. "No need to be alarmed, I'm minding my own business."

He seemed nice..But she wasstill genuinely cautious. She eased her way out of the dark shadows, and spoke gently..
"Im not alarmed.."

She said, as if to prove she was stronger than that. It did take much more to make the she-wolf nervous, and he was not near big enough to be a bear.

Though he was larger than she was by a longshot.

His voice made her legs tingle, and she shook her head, ridding herself of the thoughts shewas having.

She genuinely did not like male company..But this was attractive.. Handsome.
She shook her head again. Damn it.

Looking up at him with her glowing orbs, she smiled.

"My name, is Artemis."

Dhaval felt his lip curl up in a seductive smile. He didn't have to try very hard to make himself handsome; it was natural. Though he couldn't help but lay it all on thick.

He closed his eyes and bowed his head in a respectful greeting. "The pleasure is all mine, Lady Artemis," he said silkily, looking back up at the female and smiling. "I am Dhaval."

The female ahead of him-- Artemis-- seemed to be watching her movements very closely, so he decided to compensate by being smooth; which was no real challenge. He almost glided over to her, studying her and resting his eyes on the marking on her face for a moment.

Smiling slowly, Dhaval asked, "What is Lady doing out alone at this time of night?"

She raised an eyebrow, and smiled, but she tried to fight that smile with all she had, so it came out lopsided.

"Lady Artemis? Thats a new one."
She interjected, sitting on her haunches, and cocking her head.

He was incredibly charming..but she had a feeling he knew it, and that only made her laugh.

"Dhaval, eh? Exotic name for an exotic voice?"

She raised her eyebrow again, and stood, trotting closer to him, leaning her face down to sniff him.
As she raised her head, she was inches away from his face.

Oh god, get outta there! She yelled to herself.
This was too much temptation.
It had been so long.

"You seem okay."
She said with a shrug, and sat back down.

Dhaval grinned. It was easier to reel this female in than others, he could tell. But he could tell that she was fighting it... well, good thing he hadn't even started to try to get to her yet.

"I believe you're okay as well," he said teasingly after a moment, settling back into a sitting position and keeping his head up. No way was he going to act like a submissive fool, unless his Alpha decided to show up... then, it wasn't even out of respect, but necessity.

He perked his ears up at the hoot of an owl, feigning interest. Owls meant nothing to him; they meant even less than those damn perfect fish.

"Isn't the night beautiful?" he sighed, staring longingly at the moon. Oh, he was laying it on so thick, it was almost comical.

She gave a confused look and cocked her head.

"Are you okay?"
She asked.
Damn, he was handsome, but this wolf knew it so well..She felt him playing her, deep in the bones of her body.

What harm did playing along sometimes do?
Well..for her temptation was strong.
So she decided not to even flirt back. But to remain dignified as her mother had commanded.

"The night is beautiful. Though I must admit I find it quite odd that a wolf of your personality, actually using the word beautiful."
She said smiling.

"Your games wont work on me."
She said smiling, though she had not moved to leave.
She was enjoying her time here.
Not like she had anywhere better to be.

"So Dhaval, besides your love for the night, what brings you out here?"
She asked, her tail thumping against the ground.

Dhaval pretended to be offended by her "a wolf of your personality" statement, though he was smiling. She didn't know him, really. How was she supposed to know his personality?

"Beautiful is a very descriptive word," he said smoothly, allowing his silky voice to merely float in the space between them. "There aren't many things that deserve that sort of description."

Dhaval quirked his head to the side in mock confusion. "I am not playing any games with you, Lady Artemis," he confirmed.

"I'm out here watching the fish, if you must know," he said after a moment, shifting positions so he was closer to Artemis, but so he could see the stream. "Their lives are just so... simple. I'd like that sort of simplicity in life."

Though she took great care to keep her mind on the vow she'd made with herself..That she would never accept a male, until her role in the pack called for it.
Unwanted pups would be the end of the female.

She still wanted everything his voice seemed to promise.
She looked at the stream, not ready to meet his eyes, and covering it as best she could.

"There are more than just games in that smile, Dhaval."
She said with a grin.
Looking back up at him, she shook her head.

"Fish were bred as food, I would not want to live as something that just waits to be eaten."

Dhaval's grin faded, replaced by a look of deep thought.

"You're correct," he said quietly after a moment's pause, looking to the ground. "There are more than just games in my smile." He looked up to her now, his eyes burning with emotion. "There's passion, desire... longing."

He stood and stumbled over to the stream, watching the fish again. He felt himself getting too into his character, so pulled back a little.

"Don't you wish that you could just be carefree, like fish?" he inquired, louder than before. "Ignorant to the pain and suffering around you, only focused on the goal ahead? That is a true life, uninterrupted by negativity."
PostPosted: Fri Aug 15, 2008 7:39 pm

Damn it,Damn it,Damn it.

He jut HAD to point out her desire didnt he.. Not htat he knew she was lusting after him, but he did want to make himself desirable to her it seemed..
But he already was, so he was making it intolerable.

"You are so full of passion and longing?"
She smiled.
"And that isnt a game?"
She wasnt being difficult, but trying hard as hell not to flirt with him..Which she as doing..

Dammit..

"I like fish.. Though carefree isnt an easy way of life, though it sounds amazing."
She knew better than things being carefree.. Sure the fish was focused on the goal, but maybe it knew the goal might not happen?

Dhaval whipped his head around to stare at Artemis incredulously. Emotion wasn't merely just a game! Well, it was... but she wasn't to know that.

He felt that he had her in his paws, and decided to up the ante a bit.

"Passion and longing aren't games," he began, turning on his heel and striding toward her with purpose, his tail stuck up straight behind him and his posture tall and commanding. "They're a way of life until one finds something to occupy his desires." He winked at her teasingly, slowly making his way closer and closer to her; stopping close enough to Artemis to hear her breathe.

"Carefree isn't all too bad," he continued in his smooth, sultry voice, only a few inches away from her. "I live my life in a carefree manner. It's quite easy once you get into the groove."

Despite her attraction to the male, she wasnt that easy, and she forced herself to pull away when he came closer to her. Not much, but enough to where he wasnt clouding her mind as he touched her.

"They arent games, but they can make a girl a pawn."
She said with a gruff nod.

She'd promised to remain true to her pack, only thing is, she didnt know if she had it in her.

Artemis, the once strong and brave female, was becoming putty.
This wasnt good.

She forced herself to sit up tall, hold her head higher, and to make her eyes lose that ridiculous look of brainwashed.

Dhaval frowned. "My dear Lady Artemis," he began smoothly, quirking one of his brows. "You are by no means a pawn."

He got up but kept his nose to the ground, trotting around her slowly and snaking his nose up her neck as he found his way behind her. "You are a Queen," he whispered into her ear. "In a world of rooks." He stepped away from her again, using his tried-and-true feinting technique.

"And before you ask," he said almost immediately, his voice raising in volume and smoothness. "I am no rook. I'm a shining Knight. Not a King, they're mostly useless," he added as a joke, grinning and winking.
