The sky sparkled, shimmering with the hundreds of thousands of fireflies that had gotten stuck in the darkness. She laughed gently as she captured that thought. Induna had told ehr that stars were fireflies and she had loved the tale so much she had incorperated it in to some of her stories. There were so many tales of the stars she loved to play with them in ehr mind and mix them about, kings, fireflies, otehr worlds. the stars were a constant source of creativeness.

Colche stood slowly, moving away from the trees where her family slept, slipping off towards the darkness enjoying the cool night air, the soft scent of some flowers as they clsoed their petals to protect the precious pollen from the ccold filled the air making a heady scent fill her whole being.

Passing through soem long stems of grass she paused and lowered her head picking up the beautiful scent of the flowers close by she continued onwards. it was almost a hypnotic pull,s he wished to find these flowers and lay with them, to sit and enjoy their beauty if only for a moment, on this bright, clear night.

Darkness was something that Korou was used to, something that he dealt with every day of his life. Having been so long not seeing starlight and butterflies and fireflies and flowers, he could still appreciate all of them. It was odd, but when he breathed he could smell everything around him. It was like a picture was being painted in his head, a picture that made an outline to something he knew he'd seen or smelled before.

However on this night he was laying among something, he couldn't figure out what or even care to guess. He instead flicked his tail about and stretched his legs out, spreading his toes wide and enjoying what felt like the moonlight on his fur. Was it night or day? For the intents of purpose he would assume that it was night. That meant that colche was probably asleep.. or maybe wandering around. The cubs weren't in the den with them anymore, so there was the chance that she'd want to get out and away for a day or so.

Pondering for a moment, Korou let out an uncharactaristic chirp.

Colche paused for a moment, her ears flickering upwards as she heard her mates call. She chuckled gently, it was strange to hear that sound when there were no cubs in the den. Lifting her head she let out a chirrup of her own, one to call ehr mate to her side if he wished to joing her in her hunt for the flowers.

Waiting quietly with the moonlight shimmering along ehr king marked spine she took in a long, deep, gentle breath feeling the world around her, her perfetc blue eyes seeing each glistening stem of grass as it patted gently against her body.

A cooling breeze ruffled ehr fur and she laughed gently, it felt as if the flowers were sending these messages to her to pull ehr further onwards, but she must wait, her Korou had called her and she could wait.

Pricking both of his ears, Korou stood up on his long legs and sniffed at the air, whiskers puffed out to see if he could smell anything around him. He smelled flowers and Colche, she had always loved flowers. Despite that he didn't know what her favorite kinds of flowers were, Korou had always tried to give her some every now and then. But tonight he just wanted to be with her rather than hunting for flowers to drop all over her like the cub he could sometimes be called.

Trotting over to where he'd heard his mate's voice come from, Korou chirped once more, a smile on his muzzle as he got closer to her, tail wagging like a wild dog. It had always been an odd habit of his, one his mother Zakiya had never told him to stop so it had become so ingrained in him that even some of his children did it as well.

"Colche." He whispered out happily, knowing he was close enough for her to hear his voice.

It made her smile to see that tail wag through the long grass and she turned to greet her mate. Her pale muzzle reached forth to find his cheek and bury itself for a long moment. "Korou." She puurred grooming his face and looking at those pale blind eyes. She missed his sight, even if he did not, she wished eh could see what she saw tonight, her korou, dazzlingly bright in the moonlight, shimmering like one f the stars she was thinking about.

"Theres soem flowers around here, do you smell them? It's a whole feild of them, do you thiunk we can find them?" she whispered, excited, almost as if she were a little cub upon her first adventure.

A deep purr started up from his chest as she nuzzled his cheek and burried her nose in his short fur. It was odd to think that not even a year ago he'd been without her love in his life. That he'd never known what it was like to be with someone so friendly and gentle. His years that he'd spent with his previous mate were dissipating as if they'd never happened and never scarred his weak mind.

Yet here he was, with one of the most beautiful.. no... the most beautiful cheetah on the savannah. A soft smile spread over his black muzzle and he kissed her ears lightly.

"Flowers? Of course I smell flowers, you're right in front of me aren't you Colche?" at this Korou grinned and licked her cheek before he turned to breath deeply. If his mate wanted flowers he would find them for her.

Colche laughed gently, he was always the gentleman. She loved her Korou so much. "Charmer." she puurred in hs ear nipping at it playfully as she turned away from him to flick at his nose with her long fluffy tail. She smiled back at him and she knew instinctively that he knew she was happy, happy to be beside him, happy to have him close.

She bounded a step away from him then a laugh on her soft lips. "Come on slow poke, they are this way!" she taunted playfully her tail tilted at a jaunty angle. It was a time for play, a time to have fun and a time to be together, to have a tiny adventure together.

His tail swished at the back of his legs and Korou smiled contently into her fur for a moment. It was comfortable to be with Colche, it was a comfort he'd been denied before. He would never take it for granted as long as she was beside him.

Twisting his lithe body, the small male leapt after her, using his sensitive fur to tell where she was rather than banging into her painfully. "Lead away my angel." Korou breathed out and nearly bounced around on the ground with the anticipation of going somewhere with his angel on earth.

Both of his ears pricked forward to listen to where she was going, so he would know what she was doing before even she did it.

The cheetahress smiled gently, those pale blue orbs gazing lovingly at her mate, she would always think him wonderful, thatw as the way of the world, after all, who else could make ehr feel wanted as much as her korou? Tilting her nose to the air, she sprinted swiftly forwards only to dive, in a very cubbish fashion in to a larhe flock of flowers.

This movement obviously caused the flowers to release mroe of their scent and Colche's voice echoed up to the skies as she rolled on her back her legs dancing in the air. "It's such a beautiful night Korou." She puurrd closing her soft blue eyes as she absorbed the scent of the beautiful perfumed flowers.

The scent of flowers leaping up into the air was enough for him to know what was happening. And knowing it was happening brought a smile to his face. Rather than rolling in the flowers, Korou merely laid down beside her and peered blindly up at the stars.

What did stars look like again? His mother had once told him a story about cheetah spots being stars, how a cheetah had given up it's spots to make the stars. That was why his brother Hinotama had no spots, or at least that was what he was told.

Screwing his face up a bit he turned back to Colche and grinned softly. "It feels nice out and the flowers make it smell better." A chuckle left his gentle muzzle and the cheetah flopped across his mate. It was nice that she was only a little taller than him, the fact that she was around the same size made everything much more comfortable about her. He didn't feel as inadequate.

Colche purred happily, leaning close to her dark mate she groomed his face happily, her soft pink tongue finding his features. She loved to feel Korou this way, to feel his very being just by touching him. She knew his every mucle, every bone and it made her smile.

"To think, it was a night like this when the cubs were born and now they are nearly full gornw, off on their own adventures, seeing the world." She puurrs.

Slowly Korou nuzzled her cheek and the side of her muzzle with his soft nose. Colche was the softest being he'd met, like a ghost of an angel that he was afraid would simply dissapear like a whisp if he got to comfortable. But it was hard not to be comfortable when he was with her and she insisted on cuddling.

Which naturally Korou had no problem with. Cuddling with her was one of his favorite things to do with his lovely mate.

"It seems as if they were just born yesterday." Korou said simply, his smile turning sad. "Our daughters seem the most adventurous of all them." He chuckled at this, knowing both his daughters were gone while the boys were closer.

The cheetahress nodded gently. "yes, well you know we girls, we like to get away once in a while. they will find a place where they are happiest." She puurrs patting gently at one of her mates ears. "Don't be sad my love, I'm sure one day you will have more little mites to chase after." She laughs leaning happily against the male whom owned her heart.

"Would you like that?" she giggled playfully, she loved cubs and cubs between her and korou, well that made all the difference in the world.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 07, 2008 1:23 pm

A grin passed over his muzzle, happier this time and he kissed Colche softly on the nose, his eyes closed in a gentle happiness that curled around his heart with light fingers. Colche knew exactly how to put his tired heart, worried and stressed, to ease. With just gentle words she could do that.

"Females are more capable of sustaining themselves than males are, I'm sure they'll have their travels for a long while before we see grandcubs. However... It would be nice to hear small paws running around again. Those little lives are a joy to see and hear run around." His voice got quieter as he spoke, thinking of all his children, both daughters from his first mate and now all four from Colche, from this relationship that filled him with joy.

Korou's dark heart seemed to swell a bit as he thought of his children, thought of how strong and beautiful they were. He loved cubs, he loved knowing that they were safe and that they were out there living lives that could bring them happiness.

Colche smiled and leaned on her mate hapilly, a laugh rolling over her lips. "We can always have more, you know?" She laughs gently nibbling at his ears. "You know how much I love having cubs around. It brings me joy. I only wish you could see them Korou." She sighs gently and lifts a paw to cup at her mates chin. "You would be so proud of our babies korou, they are so beautiful, so strong and independant, so loving and childish. How I wish I could show them to you just for a moment."

She kisses his nose then gazing in to her mates sightless eyes. How she longed for those eyes to look back at her as they had once before oh so long ago.
