It's been a long time, anticipated where Ortei would finally stick her neck out so that everyone could get a shot at her (or so I assume).
Well here is the chance.
Before I continue illuminating all of this, I just want you to know ahead of time that all of my events are going to be canon as hell, although I'll try to cut down on the strictness so that they can be much more fun.
The RP campaign will be called "Odyssey of Ortei", and will start ICly in/with Barton town.
The storyline is full canon, so it will swiftly become and interactive chain of events, where the direction of the story can be effected (even greatly) by the events that take place in the RP, and therefore the ultimate outcome can be effected by the RP events.
Here's the plot:
*Ortei's Intentions*
Ortei plans to acquire apotheosis, or at least agelessness. Currently she intends to acquire this from Darshendros by sacraficing souls as a tribute, and acquiring a worthy amount of his energy in return.
However Darshendros does not please or motivate easily, and in order to get Darshendros interested, Ortei is going to require to get something that will definitely acquire his attention.
Ortei assumes (quite correctly) that a colossus running on the power of a soul gemstone compressed with hundreds of souls would please Darshendros quite well.
. . . However Ortei intends to slaughter all towns of common Gaia, and make a colossi from each gemstone she acquires.
There is more to be said.
Soulgems come with two qualities; "powerful" and "pure".
The energy found in soulgem is relative to that found in the soul compressed to make such a stone. If the soul(s) are powerful, so will be the stone. If the soul(s) are pure, so will be the stone. Powerful soul stones have the ability to do massive work. Pure gemstones have the ability to do work over a period of time. However pure souls are rarely intense enough to easily make a powerful soul stone. Impure soulgems can not be used for lengthy periods of time.
Therefore in order to make a pure and powerful soul stone, large masses of innocents must be collected into the soulgem.
Ortei requires such a pure and powerful soulgem, which is why the slaughter of whole towns is necessary for each one soulgem.
