Hours ago the sun had withdrawn its presence from the sky, sinking behind the mountains as the darkness consumed what was left of such radiant light. In its place and rightful throne, the moon loomed within the skies adorned with light, cirrus clouds and scattered stars woven withinin its dark, blue tapestry alongside the gentle breeze that whispered sweeth nothings through the boughs of trees and brush. The tall grass of the small clearing brushed against his legs as the stallion drifted onward towards somewhere, somplace or perhaps it was better to say he was bound for a destination anywhere. How was he to know where he was going or perhaps the better question was shouldn't he know? Not exactly. The reserved, silent male never did actually voice or tell others where he was going, not even his family knew! But deep down something was pulling him- something was urging him to go onwards- searching for something, someone, perhaps.

Again he was left in oblivion. Hagi was left searching for something of which he had no idea of what exactly he was seraching for yet even so he simply kept on walking. Fate and so called destiny was being put to the test; would these sensation, this pull by means of an unseen invalid bring about something or perhaps was it all meaningless? Tired eyes narrowed upon the shadowed horizon before him, peering through a mess of thick, icy-blue bangs. He hadn't realized that he had traveled for so long as he had become lost within his own silent thoughts the hours of twilight were soon approaching.

A solemn, faint expression crossed his lips as his ears flickered slightly. Hagi gave a small wiggle of both his head wings and feet wings along with a flick of his tail as he exhaled, a wreath of cool mist emitting from his nostrils and around his muzzle. Rather than stopping he kept himself on the move, walking through the tall grass of the rolling plains as he began walking up a small hill.

Deep down he knew he was tired but he fought it off again and again but it seemed that logic was getting the better hand at the battle and the stallion slowed down his pace as he reached the top of the hill, overlooking the elevated view of the valley that sloped downwards.

Hagi opened his mouth ever so slightly as if to speak but, as if second guessing himself, closed it. His brows furrowed slightly as he pawed at the ground with his front, right hoof. Already the routine was begining and another day was to commence. There were doubts if it would be something important as, to him, a day was just a day. But even so there were so many things that the stallion didn't understand that it certainly would be interesting that such things as 'fate' and 'destiny' weren't so much a bedtime story as it was a thing that the gods above and the world frequently weilded.

Looking around momentarily with a slight swivel of his head, the stallion lowered his head and began to graze. At least he could stop to eat a bit before he was off and running again and he might as well enjoy it. Good, tender grass was hard to find these days.

Her body lie stretched out in the tall grass of the meadow. The moon had been high over head for hours, the mare had fallen asleep as she watched the stars twinkle and dance in the sky. Many nights she found herself here, her imagination of what was out there running wild.

In her dreams, Tuli wasn't afraid to leave. She traveled the lands, by foot, by flight. She saw exotic beauties, strange beings, and met other wonderful soquili....then....Then she would wake up. Even though she was grown now, Tuli just couldn't bring herself to wander too far from her parents land. Perhaps it was because she didn't socialize too much as a foal...maybe because she'd watched as her brothers slipped away and began their own families, hardly coming to visit them anymore. Whatever the reason, the mare seemed locked in this overly familiar territory. One day she would find the strength, and her reason to finally step out and explore.

The mare's muscles twitched under her coat, perhaps flinging a bug from her colorful fur. The twitch was enough to startle the poor mare awake. She rolled quickly, picking up her head and surveying the immediate surrounding. No one. She took a deep breath, thankful that she had just woken herself and that she wasn't in danger. She snorted, disgruntled that she was awake at such an hour. She looked to the sky, trying to tell by the moon's setting as to how long before the day would break. It didn't look to be too far off.

With a thud, the mare fell back to the earth. Stretching her legs and craning her neck to the stretch her muscles. She, was not, a morning Soquili.

Good fortunes seemed to smile upon him as the stallion nibbled upon tender shoots of grass adorned with early morning dew, a refreshing taste aside from a constant meal of the sun dried grass and brush seemed to somewhat lift up though by only a small measure. As his maw pulled at a chunk of grass, tearing it from the ground while his head rose upwards, Hagi sighed softly. Slate gray eyes leveled with the horizon, brows furrowing as he chewed and the grass that once hung outside of his maw was pulled in, dissapearing behind his lips while his cheeks puffed out slightly. Like the faint cirrus clouds above it seemed as if dabbles of thoughts perused through his mind, topics and even simple thoughts crossing his mind faintly and disappearing into nothingness. As one who rarely spoke nor voiced himself, Hagi's own mind seemed calm and undisturbed by anything yet only minor thoughts ever crossed his mind yet they weren't those which would cause him to be racked and tormented or even haunted by something long ago. No. They were never of ill deeds or events but only of things that pertained to his life and even his family.

Yet even still to know of what things seemed to skim the conciousness of his mind was a challenge for anyone to truly learn.

Daybreak had yet to come as the cool, early morning breeze nipped at his nostrils and caressed against his face. Hagi stiffened slightly, slightly jerking his shoulder away as if to keep an unseen comforter from touching him. He never did like to be touched- sometimes he allowed it but most of the time he refrained himself from getting to close to others.

After throughly chewing, the stallion swallowed as an exhale of breath and light mist trailed from out of his nostrils. With taking a deep breath of the morning air, there seemed to be something else or, perhaps, someone else about. The gentle breeze seemed to carry the delicate fragrances of the open valley along with the scent of another- someone unfamiliar to Hagi; was it a friend or foe? Unfortunately the stallion had few to none of either category so it wasn't alarming or something he'd try to divert away from yet, on the other hoof, it was someone that Hagi wasn't keen on meeting. Pursing his lips as an idle hoof pawed at the ground, Hagi looked around.

From what he could see there was no one visible standing within the tall grass which only could mean one of two things; they were airborne or rather covert within the grass.

Great.

Rolling his eye slightly, the stallion began to tread slowly down the hill as his thick bangs of icy blues swayed into his eyes. The last thing he wanted to do was to gon on some wild goose chase. Perhaps he was better off just ignoring it all. Yet even so he was strangely driven to investigate.

"Hello?" Hagi spoke softly in a cool, almost velvety tone against the light breeze.

There was silence.

Even so, the stallion continued slowly walking down the hill as his eyes scanned across the tall grass looking for someone, something, anything.

He could only hope that it simply wasn't his imagination getting the better of him.

She had stopped moving in the dew covered blades beneath her. Her nostrils moving slightly as she had almost drifted back off to sleep for the last few moments of the night. She hadn't heard the steps, and she was in the wrong direction to pick up the stranger's scent on the wind that blew quietly around her.

Her ears flickered at the sound of....a voice? One eye opened, she had -just- taken a look around and she had been the only one. Surely it was just her mind drifting back off to sleep. Had she begun to dream already? Surely not.

Slowly she rolled her body over to rest on the bottom of barrel and her legs. Her hind legs tucked beneath her, her front spread just a bit in case she needed to reach her hooves quickly. Her sleepy eyes surveyed what bit of land she could see in the still darkened horizon.

Toward the hills, she thought she saw movement. She blinked, blinked again trying to get them to adjust. Yes, there was definately a stranger headed her way. Tuli moved to her feet, her father had told her to always be alert and prepared to flee if needed. She always tried to give the benefit of the doubt though.

" G'morn to you. " she called out to the stranger in the distance, her voice still a little cracked from just waking. She cleared her throat in hopes that it would help before she had to speak again.

She shook her body and wings, clearing dirt and debris from her coat. A few stray feathers twisted and twirled on their way to the ground as her wings flitted quickly and stretched.

A wreath of mist exhaled from the stallions nostrils as he glanced around yet again, the scent clinging to his nostrils as his ears flicked with a mix of both curiosity and a wary outlook. His mane of faint, sky blue plastered itself in a thick and almost plush array over his right eye with a very reserved expression across his maw as he scanned across the horizon searching for whatever, whoever was around. But the question that still loomed within his mind was why, why, why was he even caring? Why was he looking for this hidden whatever? By now he could have been out of these plains and off looking for one of his father's brothers.

The stallion rolled his eyes yet again as his pace slowed down slightly. His body was tense, agitated and he couldn't help but paw at the ground in a restless manner.

While he was also searching for whatever pulled him Hagi was also searching for his own father's brothers whom his father, Kidono, believed were very much alive and resided somewhere within the lands. His family backstory was not one of bliss as his father, along with his brothers, were cast out of Heaven for reasons assumed to be an attempt at causing a revolt or rebellion within such a 'holy' place. As punishment his father was stripped of his lower wings which enabled him never to return and his other two unknown uncles were either cursed or marked with a tangible sign. Though one had fallen, the brothers had chosen to all fall together. Even still Hagi wanted to find them and bring them back to his father as it seemed that reuniting the brothers would help in soothing the pain that his father had for so long endured. For one so reserved and often kept to himself it was a hell of a 'quest' to take up but if it was for the better, and in the name of flesh and blood, it was worth it.

Though it seemed it perhaps would be sweeter as Hagi hadn't even told his father what he was doing and, in doing so, he only prayed to whatever deity was listening that he'd find them.

As his mind wandered slightly, Hagi continued to walk as his ears seemed to detect something- a voice, was it? Again the stallion looked around and within the distance he could see some void of shape against the horizon and the grass slightly. From the sound of it she, assumed by the voice, seemed harmless. And with no threat or even anything bloodthirsty following him he was tempted to tread onwards rather than having to stall, mindlessly listen to chatter and escape without saying much.

So how exactly was he going to avoid this?

Hagi drew his slate eyes to look away from her, keeping them set on the horizon as he had decided to continue walking. God knows that anyone who was up this early would be tired and again from the sound of her voice maybe he could slip by and avoid the whole 'meet and greet' scenario. Slowly he began to approach, making his way towards her and, intentionally, past her if he was fortunate enough.

Standing there in the fading darkness, Tuli waited for a reply from the stranger. As he moved closer in distance, she could see that it was a stallion, and from what it looked, he had those odd hoof wings like the angeni she had meet days earlier. Where were his back wings? Her head tilted, then her brain realized that he was most likely a cross, thus explaining his lack of larger wings.

She couldn't tell from the distance, his facial expression. She assumed that she just hadn't greeted him in a loud enough manner for him to hear since he did not reply. She decided to try again, this time, a little louder. "Good morn' to you!" she called out again, her voice more clear this time.

It didn't dawn on Tuli that the stallion could simply be avoiding her, she hadn't been socialized well as a foal so she didn't pick up on que's very well at all. Her ears perked and moved to face the stallion, her body still as she watched him begin to walk past her and in the opposite direction.

As he managed to walk past her as his eyes narrowed toward the horizon there was an evident feeling of relief which hoisted away his burden and worry of having to socialize. The stallion was quiet, never liking to speak and most often feeling that there was no reason for him to say much of anything. Hagi wasn't dumb nor uneducated- simply he found no reason to speak although if he had to he often gave short answered and loathed any sort of long, drawn out conversations. Though thankfully it seemed that this wa something which he need not worry about. But, unfortunately, this was short lived. That same voice called out again, obvious that she was aware of him and was more than likely looking at him. The stallions jowls gritted slightly, ears flattening as he stalled momentarily in place not even considering to look back towards the mare. Atop his head his headwings fidgeted while, below, the wings upon his back legs fluttered nervously as they furled slightly and snapped open once and then twice. With his mind disrupted from his train of thoughts, the stallion narrowed his eyes as he flicked his tail.

There was no getting out of this one but, hopefully, this would only be a short encounter, a very short encounter.

"Morning," he replied, simple and short as his tone held a hint of an ever so slightly low ring though its flow was one that was smooth, almost velvety against the brisk morning air. For a moment Hagi debated keeping his back towards her and although it was tempting, the stallion turned around slightly as his hooves pivoted him about halfway.

Slate, grey-green eyes remained hidden behind plush bangs of icy, sky blue as if to shield himself away from her or perhaps not even bother to look at her. He exhaled softly as a wreath of mist encircled his spattered muzzle if only for a few seconds before it disappeared while almost wishing he could do the same and avoid this meeting at any cost. Though wings would have made it simpler though it seemed that his sister, Kawari, was fortunate in that aspect. A restless spattered hoof of blue and red pawed idly at the ground as the stallion glanced toward the mare.

He was done speaking and nor did he have anything else to say. Could he leave yet? Could this be over? A rather bland, emotionless expression remained on his maw as he stood there.

Hagi was wasting time and yet he couldn't get out of it.

Just great.

Her eyes followed as he continued to walk, taking in a deep breath, she huffed just slightly. He had almost made it, she was beginning to assume he was just ignoring her. But, then he replied.

Tuli's ears flickered and stood at alert as he answered her greeting. It was short, to the point, but it was an answer. Her smile, that had seemed to fade slightly upon being ignored, returned. Even showing just a few teeth as she got ready to introduce herself.

She once again, shook her body quickly to clear it of debris that may be lurking on the surface. Holding her tail up slightly, she decided to make her way a -tad- bit closer to the stranger. She tucked her wings in close to her body as she walked, the morning are was still a bit on the cool side.

"I was beginning to think you were ignoring me," she offered with a smile and friedly voice. "I was beginning to think you rude."

Tuli tried her best to be social and polite, but every once in a while, things slipped from her mouth that would have been better left unstated. She didn't think twice about her comment.

Already the awkward feeling was settling in rather strongly and the stallion sighed as a mist accompanied from out of his nostrils and disappeared into the air. His hooves shuffled slightly as his tail of cold, icy blue flicked once and then simply hung motionless behind him. This was a waste of daylight, time he could have spent elsewhere searching for his own fathers' lost brothers whom were belived to be hiding somewhere within the lands, or so that was the assumed speculation. Still that bland, emotionless expression remained on his maw as tenative ears flicked with newfound apprehension and dread while he watched her slink just a bit closer though Hagi only found more of a reason to snort followed by a low sigh.

Even as she began to speak his interest was all but lost as he stared past her and into the scenery behind her as dawn was all but breaking. It was almost as if secretly he was counting how long this pointless interaction would last- counting the passing seconds and hoping that soon this ordeal would all but end promptly. But although her voice was friendly the last comment was something that somehow didn't settle well with him.

Hagi's eyes all but snapped back towards her as his ears pinned flat along his head. Rude? Was this mare missing basic common sense? His posture stiffened while the short fur that covered his body bristled.

"Well don't we have manners," he mused, arching a brow while the wings atop his head and feet tucked close to his body.

Although the stallion despised to speak and waste his time, he was finding a good reason to set this mare straight. As if he needed someone else nipping at his hooves it seemed that he should have simply listened to himself and walk away. By now he would have been half way across the open plain and less than a mile from the suspected woods where Duzi, his fathers brother, was speculated to be -if- he was alive. The mare kindness wasn't appealing and, still, the stallion seemed to narrow his gaze even closer as he pawed at the ground.

"I am a solitary individual searching for something. My intention isn't to stop and mindlessly chat when time is pending," he replied. "I don't intend to be rude but I do intend to keep a promise. Think of it how you will, I'm not here for you and nor to change your mind."

Hagi reverted his gaze back to the desolate plains as he began to walk past her yet again as the brisk breeze seemed to caress against his face with a slightly numb sensation, pricking at his spattered face as he lowered his eyes slightly and began to continue.

Mares, he silently sighed.

She stopped abruptly, her smiled dropped and a shocked look on her face. She hadnt' meant to be rude or say anything out of the way. She blinked a few times, not sure whether to appologize or just let the stallion walk away. Her parents had taught her to always try to be as polite as possible...at least when she thought about it.

"I...I didn't mean it like that," her voice quivered just a bit. "I appologize for my wording...It's not always the best." She stood there, shocked. She'd never had another soquili snap at her so. She was quite dumbfounded by this. Her ears folded back and she lowered her head ever so slightly.

"I didnt' mean to interupt your journey, I just wanted to greet you. I didn't want you to think ill of me had I not said a thing as you walked by." She took a few steps back and watched as he began to walk away. She knew better than to trail after him and try to make it up to him. She hadnt' met many soquili, but she knew when it was time to take her leave, this, would be it.
